I'm planning on another juice fast soon. Anyone care to share their favorite juice recipes?

Five carrots, 2 grapefruits, one-inch of ginger, peeled.

2 oz lemon juice, 14oz water, 1 tbsp honey, pinch of cayenne...

I've made more smoothies in recent years, than juices, but I wanted a juicer for Christmas. I wanted to start out the year with a juice fast, and googled things like the Blueprint Cleanse recipes. I look at the sites for Pressed Juicery, Glow Bio, and others, and try to figure out how to make my own versions of their juices and smoothies.

I have the Hurom slow juicer. I really like it. I have a dozen juicing books but I do really enjoy hearing what other people like best.

My husband used to do the lemon/honey/cayenne as a cleanse. I probably couldn't do that one.

I love ginger in juices, though!

I saw this little woman lugging this HUGE bag of carrots to her cart the other day.

I had to ask myself.

Is it the veggies?

Or is it the carrying of the veggies that makes one healthy.

Not to mention all that pulp.

Can you make Carrot Cake when you're done?

LOL

Yes, I never quite figured out what to do with the pulp. The leftover pulp is pure fiber, so you could probably add it to any recipe to add fiber content.

I thought about adding it to soups or salads or cakes. I also thought about putting it into a dehydrator to make all fiber crackers. Then eat them with spread made from foods that are high in vitamins for balance.

I really need to suck it up and start doing pulp projects.

I juiced yesterday to cover my husband and I today and had TONS of pulp left over.

Actually, when we move in a couple months and have a yard, I'll have room to have a compost area. Pulp is supposed to make WONDERFUL compost.

It was excruciating to shred all those carrots my recipe called for.

I would consider that juicer a Carrot Cake Miracle Machine.

I have to say... on day four of juicing AND no-gluten and I feel so much better.

I decided I'm not doing strictly juice but I have a fruity juice in the mid-morning for a snack and veggie juice for a mid-afternoon snack and I'm just eating lightly the rest of the time.

It's really amazing what food does to the body. Logically, I know all of this. Bread is just SO HARD to resist.

I used my juicer for the first time today. I got it for free.

I have the Jack LaLanne power juicer.
Does not juice carrots well at all. Only a tea spoon would come out for each carrot!

So I used
9 organic carrots
2 tiny pieces of water melon
5 pieces of cut organic broccoli
7 radishes

The color was pretty and I enjoyed making and drinking the juice.

Apparently veggie pulp is good in meatloaf. Mmmm!!

There is a middle eastern place I like to eat. And people can order juice combos.

I asked the waitress if I could just have cucumber juice. She thought I was so weird! But did it and didn't charge me full price. Interesting to see how one individual thing will make ya feel drinking it. I liked the results.

cucumber makes the most juice, so add it for the easiest way to have a big juice.

Does juicing watermelon taste different than just water?

Good question! I would think it would have some watermelon taste. But I'll have to find out and juice it alone.

Hard to say since I juiced it with all kinds of things, but I'd say I tasted a hint of watermelon.

A few days ago I did my best to make a V8.
My guy talked me into haberneros to give it a kick. He told me I could handle it. Well this time I only used half of one and it was still a kick. I had to take a break from drinking it cause my ears started to burn.

My sister has a juicer too, and her warning to me was don't put a whole pomegranate in the juicer cause it gave her the runs and she threw up, and had to leave work.

aaaaaaaaaaaa carrot, orange, apple n ginger ftw.

I looove that combination, sometimes just carrots n oranges are enough. I once drank too much of it and my palms went yellow lol

other good ones:

- pear, pineapple n ginger.

- celery, cucumber, apple n pear.

Sometimes I add rock melon or honey dew melon (I blend them with the juice).

You only need a tiny bit of ginger when using a juice extractor. It's so strong. Maybe it's different when juicing with a blender, though.

I need some simple juice recipes. Something like 3, 4 ingredients.
Anything else is an overkill, unless you have infinite time and a thick wallet.

12muddy had some great ideas.
I guess, I am curious what you would want to combine in a juice? What fruits and veggies go well together?

Try this using a juice extractor...
5-6 apples
1 cup strawberries
Juice everything together instead of in the order given (alternate)
