Chows aren't children friendly though and you have children. Collies and Australian Shepard dogs are better.

When I was a kid I was almost bitten by a chow as well. I was not even trying to pet it, it just really didnt like kids and came at me. Yeah, i've heard that's their typical temperment.

Yeah it really is just there natural temperament, there is a reason their called the puffy lion dog lol. I have found pit bull terriers to have a better temperament than Chows.

Okay! Glad I risked coming back, the biting, nasty chow stories have helped me overcome my chow puppy addiction!

Thanks people.

ail, that gif is so cute! It bothers me that pit bulls have such a bad reputation (along with the people who adopt pit bulls.)

Love the gif. I play that game with my chihuahua.

Her tongue is about the width of my pinky finger and paws about the size of my thumb. So tiny and cute.

chihuahua's are so spunky, tiny size with large personalities.

Actually all little dogs have big personalities.

Same here.

Shame the way some people mistreat them and even more how they are dscriminated against.

The most gentle dog I knew was a staffie.

My dog has a worse temperment than the pit bull i knew. If she was the size of one....i might have a problem on my hands. Luckily she can't do a lot of damage and is *usually* cool.

I love Staffies heck I just love animals in general. I miss working at a doggie daycare, it was like I had my very own dog collection.

I miss my 3/4 white wolf.

He was enormous and had gold eyes and black nose.

Had another huge dog as a teen.
A Mastiff.

Otherwise I am a cat person.

Ahhh! Me and my dog do this everyday! Lol. I don't let dogs(or any animal) lick my face, and she knows this. When we do this, she tries to be sneaky and suddenly when I least expect it she throws her face into mine, just to lick my face, and then she backs off just as fast. Aww I'm gonna go hug her now... Every time I see doggy pics, I get this strong urge to go hug my dog. It's weird.

He was a 200 pound 3/4 white Artic Wolf,
and 1/4 mix of Great Ptyanees /Samoyed.
When he stood up he could drape his forelegs over the shoulders
of my 5'10" husband; and rest his chin on top of my husband's.
Here are pictures of the two other breeds mixed with his 3/4 wolf.

They are wonderful but definitely not a pet for just anyone.
The first thing one must never forget is;
this animal is not a dog!
It is at its heart still a very wild untamed animal.
That goes for any dog who is half wolf or more.

The one thing I liked was unlike pure dogs, who do nonsense barking for no reason;
He was very quite fellow unless there were valid reason to make noise.
His favorite toys were 12 pound bowling balls.

WOW that is intense Lexx, how does that even happen? A wolf banging a dog?
Hahaha that is so interesting though. Did your female dog get with a wolf and you kept the puppie(s)? Or vice-versa?
How is that possible (sorry I'm Mercury/Pluto dominant)
It's beautiful though. You just have to remember that you're the pack leader and therefore they need to respect you.
I love how their mentality is though.
I would be pretty terrified that my wolf pet would turn on me and become Cujo
