Lexxigramer: haha I have a feeling that we met in our past lives. In this life we have only met online =D

I’ll definitely find some recipes for those. I’ll have to make some floral ice cream and cream cheese. Gah, I’m drooling.

My signature is in Vietnamese. It translates literally as “Together we will run across the burning grass field.” It’s a line in a poem I wrote for my other half. The tone marks couldn’t show up so yeah have to write it in the internet style. Ideally it should look like this:

Faith: same here. That tea tastes lovely. I love the colour too, such a pretty, deep red.

I’ve eaten mice and a kind of ant larvae once. They rubbed the meat of the mice with lemongrass and stir fried it with a bit of curry paste, coconut milk and chilli. It tasted better than chicken lol.

The larvae was lightly toasted over the fire and to me, they tasted like cream cheese.

Hi 12muddy!

I'm happy to have a mouse eater here! They are cute, so it's sad to see them go, but then again, so are cows and chickens.

Those art larvae sound pretty good! Maybe you will inspire nahyt to try the lavetts after all.

I drink hibiscus tea just about every day out of a glass mug. Makes me feel rich because the color is so fabulous.

somethingexcellent, please tell me you eat scorpions!

Even though that'd make you like a cannibal: scorpion eating scorpions.

Just like I'd be a cannibal if I ate mergoats. Which I won't do because they are endangered, I believe.

Yay for weirdo appreciation! .. Ehhh. That ant lollipop looks a bit too much for me. It would be torture for me,having to lick and lick until each little ant is exposed and off of the lollipop. If I'm gonna eat an insect, it needs to be quick lol.

You've eaten one of these? Dang. The other day I saw someone post a pic on Instagram of them with a tray of chocolate covered scorpions. The sizes ranging from small to quite large. Me being the serious chocoholic I almost decided to purchase some online. But then I thought better of it lol. I'd totally lick chocolate off a scorpion though . Even if it were a live one. That's kinda sexy right? Lmaoo. Licking chocolate off a scorpion. Yeahhhh

That makes sense, yeah, it's not like getting to the center of a Tootsie roll Tootsie pop. I mean no one would have bought Tootsie Pops if they were full of dead ants in the middle.

I think the ant lollipop is for exhibitionists. "Look at me I'm going to get a mouthful of dead ants soon, stick around to see how I eat these ants!"

Like a performing art more than a food.

I learned how to eat polk salad which grew wild. It was a family tradition, seems the family used to have children for the free labor and only got scraps to eat so children learned to forage (and polk salad requires a special treatment to avoid sickness and maybe worse), and though the times had become more enlightened it was (is?) a skill passed from one generation to the next. I liked it ok, I thought it was better than spinach (not to say I loved it).

What I LOVED back then was drinking untreated cow's milk. Granny would make it cold and I thought it was one of the best treats ever. It's also supposed to be fattening which is why she gave it to me (I was under a doctor's orders to gain weight). I don't think that's legal today (though maybe it is in Texas, I can't recall if it's a federal law or just some states that have prohibited it).

I was also encouraged to keep my preference for pork (and chicken, fish, etc) over beef quiet (that doesn't go over well in Texas, including the family farm which sold about everything but pork products).

Oh I thought your link was going to be to this Polk Salad.

Quite different.

We have polk weed growing on our property but I am leary of eating stuff that can kill you if you prepare it wrong.

So you drank raw milk? Isn't it good~ I've drank it before, too. In the country we are literally surrounded by dairy farms, but the farmers won't sell you raw milk because of the risk/illegality.

My friend brought one home from her travels and was eating one and offered everyone a bite. Of course no one took her up on the offer...EXCEPT ME!!!!!

It didn't really have a taste, or a texture really...but the candy was nice. And my Cancer friend is like that!!! Doesn't wanna eat crab because she'll feel like it's cannibalism.

I was about to offer something about a banquet of the zodiac, but then I realised Gemini, Virgo, Aquarius, and sort of Sagittarius are all humans...plus Libra, how would we even dine on that!

Leo lady, are you trying to tell me, a little scorpion boy, something?

Curiosity always got the better of me as a kid, and I had a habit of tasting things:

Licking rocks which tasted like nothing or sometimes salty,
Grass which tastes like green beans btw
Chalk- it tasted like cardboard :\
Custard powder - had a salty chalkish taste with a hint of vanilla
It's quite a long list.

Later I started associating colors with taste too. (Can't explain that)
If someone would ask what certain foods tasted like, I would use a color to describe it.

No taste though? How can a Scorpion not have a taste...I suspect a conspiracy.

Synaesthesia

I think that's like a gift...I was just reading in my Color Healing book about foods affecting the different chakras according to their color (red food affects root chakra, and so on.)

Do you think there's any connection? Like you are sensing where they will hit the strongest in your body, beyond the color of the food?

Faith, I will have to ponder it a bit. I didn't even know there was a name for it. O_o
It doesn't only apply to taste but smell too.

It's something which just happens.

Quite an interesting theory..
When it happens again I'll pay special attention which colors come up for foods and scents. Maybe there is a link.

I also have the ability to smell anxiety or nervousness. :\ I mentioned it in another thread a couple of years ago.

It's quite unpleasant to say the least.. Like an overpowering metal smell..

Amazing!

I think I grew a new wrinkle in my brain, tying to imagine how that plays out, and hoping I can will myself to have the same ability.

Doubtful, but I can try!

And yes, please let me know if you notice any food-color/chakra connection. Thank you.
