The show was Married at First Sight and I am still following Doug and Jamie on their Twitter pages. Jamie just cleaned her closet and posted a YouTube video of the project and I watched it. This is how pathetic I am. ROTFL

Thanks so much for inviting me to look at this new show! I just checked out the couples for season two and I'm all confused because they last couple met at Bible college but the boy's father doesn't want him in an interracial marriage...yet the girl is...Italian-looking? A quarter Hispanic? She isn't brown...

And they met at BIBLE COLLEGE and the Dad is racist like this? Wtf? I will have to watch more.

Yeah, I know - re: the Christian dad who doesn't believe in interracial marriage... Lovely, right? I'm awaiting the episode where he finally has to meet her. Looking forward to the one where the dad is introduced.. I'm not sure what her race(s) are, but you'd think it wouldn't matter to a true Christian.

I don't think that one will last anyway. She mentioned she was an only child and not used to her fiancee's large family/friend gatherings/dinners. And they made her quite uncomfortable, especially because she was in the spotlight. Did you see the episode where someone at dinner asked her if she was nervous about the wedding and she innocently replied....."You mean, .....will it hurt?"

*huge awkward gasp...* omg, i wanted to die for her.

No that is not what he meant, Dear.

I think everyone at the table turned red including her. She didn't realize right away that that was not what he was referring to. Sooo embarrassed for her there.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure this is the first season and you were watching clips for it. I've seen up to episode 4. More I'd like to say about the other couples, but I don't want to be here all night. LOL (or derail the thread too much)

I'm loving being able to leave all of my windows open and sleep comfortably under a blanket. A few weeks ago it finally cooled down enough to turn the AC off for once. I'm looking forward to electric bills that aren't over $150 a month for a few months hopefully more. This is my favorite time of year down here. Although next week we are supposed to have a few very chilly days that will struggle to get above 60 degrees (pretty chilly when your body is used to sweltering heat most of the year). Fine by me. I don't mind layering up.

How is Thunderbird doing?

Hope you're staying warm and that old man winter doesn't stay as long as he did for you last year.

Bella you scared the sh*t out of me but that's no matter at all ~ I understand that you were just being you and living through a very difficult time. I understand there was no pretense there, you were genuinely at your wits end, and I am so sorry that you felt that bad. I do hope you feel much better now. Just remember-- things are usually made worse by bad transits, and they'll pass!

And honestly it was no trouble at all to worry about you....by that I mean, it's a pleasure to know you and a pleasure to worry about you when you are down. Two sides of the same coin of affection.

I don't want to push you to keep this thread going...a break from LL might serve you well at this point, since the dynamics can be a little crazy-making (like, people get their threads locked for defending women and fighting sexist comments. Yup that REALLY happens here. Sickening.)

So I'm not going to sweep anything under the rug unless or until you want me to.

That being said, we ARE Cap-Aquarians and we ARE strong and weird and we WILL prevail.

Right? Whether we are keeping up this thread or not. Just know that there is an endless stream of good wishes flowing from me to you.

If people could be CIVIL, RESPECTFUL, and not stoop to such filthy, insulting nonsense then it wouldn't happen, guarantee it. They're closed for that reason regardless of what the topic is.

I was never upset with you Bella because you were defending people, which no one needed defending in that thread. AG simply stated how he felt on the issue and was gutted like a cow because of it. Defending people is something that is very important to me, as its why all of this started. I truly care deeply for the welfare of people and can't sit when I see them being treated poorly. What angered and really hurt me was the way you talked to Ami. It is not ever okay to throw her problems with her mother in her face and claim it to be the reasoning behind her hate for women, for which Ami has never once claimed to even hate women. It's not acceptable. It was a very callous and down right nasty move and it really bothered me. I was in the middle of bringing it directly to your attention when the thread was locked and I couldn't reply to you. So driven by my heart and not my mind, I went to the venting thread, and instead of using any names, said what I said to avoid creating more drama. Clearly that didn't happen.

I'm truly sorry if what I said upset you, as that was never my intention. As I said I do first and think later. I however don't apologize for saying it. The BIG issue here on LL is that we (every member here) states our opinion on an issue and its immediately taken as face value, it's cut down like an apple from a tree and chomped on. Respect is lacking BIG time here and it really is driving me insane. We need to respect each other, regardless if we agree or disagree, and then maybe the argument or what's being said will be taken seriously. Stooping low to throw a members shared personal information in their face because we don't agree with them isn't just pointless, it's cruel and shows the true colors of the people who do so.

No he wasn't. I mocked his views but didn't get personal with HIM...just his nutty opinions. Because they seriously bother me.

Well, I have my opinions which I usually keep to myself. There has to be leeway all around in order to establish even a semblance of peace. People bother me sometimes but I can usually look around it.

But I can't handle injustice on an organizational level-- it drives me bonkers. And I think Sweet Peas is systematically sexist as I have said before, meaning the hierarchy of power supports and condones it, and that bigotry is not healthy for the people who go there and are exposed to it. In fact it is super creepy!

PisceanDream just bumped into that monster that lurks in the dark there all the time, and she was upset by it. I wish I could protect people BEFORE they encounter that spirit of darkness...I mistakenly thought things were improving there, but that's wishful thinking.
