Do you like the sun? By that I mean bathing in it, walking in it. Or do you prefer to hide from it?

By nature I'm a total sunworshipper and actually find it spiritually uplifting lying and tanning in it for an hour. I feel I'm missing out if I see glorious sunshine outside my window, and I'm stuck inside for whatever reason. Also sunbathing provides Vitamin D which is essential for calcium absorption.

I'm aware of the risks of melanoma (also a good music buddy of mine in California died from skin cancer a couple of years ago which was awful), but so long as I don't spend too much time in it, I'm not changing the habit of a lifetime.

One summer a few years ago I didn't go out in it at all, but I know I was going through an insular phase at the time. Being at one with the sun makes me happy.

How do you feel? Are you a vampire and hate the sun?

I must be a vampire. I hate the heat. I love rainy days.

I love rain too Valentine. And not actually a big fan of too much heat, just the sun in a blue clear sky.

Today in the UK was a perfect day, sunny all day with a nice breeze, then tonight we had lightning, thunderstorms and flash floods. I love both.

It sounds like you had a lovely day, Jo.

It's actually humidity I can't tolerate.

I love it all...sunny days, foggy days, light rain, but I think my favorite is seeing a clear night sky, especially away from the city lights.

One of the most beautiful memories in my life was when I was windsurfing on a gray surf under a cloudy sky with light rain (and fog in the hills) when the sun came out and turned the gray waters I was surfing on into sparkling aqua...

I love it all, depending on my mood. Last year, when I was stressed, and worried about my mother - both parents, actually - I spent a lot of time out in the sun, starting seeds, wearing my wireless headphones and listening to things outside. Since I could see the TV from the back door, I even took a couple of chairs out there, and set myself up, so that I could watch it from the deck.

I had planned on doing that this year, but I've been awake too much during the night, and we've also had too much rain, and cooler days. An ideal day for me, is one that alternates sun, and then cloudiness, but enough sun behind them that it isn't dismal. That heat, though... it seeped into my skin and made me feel better.

I also love the middle of the night - as long as I can get outside and walk. We have no streetlights on my road, and it's pretty quiet here, so I can walk without being bothered (unless a dog starts barking at me). I've been wanting to get out there and just walk, recently, but my dog will start howling if I leave - I watched the local fireworks from the back of our garden, last night, and I could hear him in the house, howling, as he looked for me. I should have found a leash, and brought him back there with me.

I started this schedule in which I take a nap and then do charts late at night when it is really quiet and peaceful. I, also, have a pure hour or so, just to read. It feels really nice. I am up now

Thanks Valentine. Today was great too. And I agree with you, humidity is the worst. I like dry heat with breezes, although you have to be careful because you can burn easily without feeling hot at all.

That sounds awesome PJ.

Teasel, I can relate to everything you said. (I like growing stuff myself, I have an allotment and nothing beats being out in the sun while you're planting or sowing stuff). I also like doing a brisk-ish walk at night. I live in the city so it's a perfect time to do exercise when it's relatively peaceful.

I was very spoilt when I was in California as I had daily access to an outside swimming pool (plus jacuzzi) and would go for a late night swim under the stars. Or swim during the day with the sun on my back. There's nothing like that here in London, I really miss that. I do feel a connection with water. (Pic I took at Crystal Cove, SoCal):

For basically my entire life I have been pale and although I liked the sun I would wear long sleeves clothing and jackets and the sun was too hot for that.. So I would avoid it...

BUT now I wear tank tops and I'm completely different now I actually love to tan I recently started with a tanning bed and I'm going to make a habit of it
My skin darkened a lot since I started and I'm not over doing it so it's safe

It did, but my legs got a little darker due to using tanning lotion on them, which was my goal.

Lol it's fun being vain. Self appreciation all the way !!'

I used to be More vain than I am. Like I was so tan and my skin was like this glowing orange that it was so beautiful .. and now I'm just a shaded white person all over again
ughh
But I still tan like every other day to two days
So I don't see how that makes sense 🤔
