The paradox of it is torturing my brain!

I say that with some self-deprecating humor, but I keep trying to grasp what's actually being said, to make sense out of it so it's not so innately contradictory, and I can't do it...and I can't stop trying to make sense out of it. When the contradiction is blatantly stated as a contradiction as often as it is then it MUST mean something, and yet in the past when I and others asked for the clarification it can't be given, at least without once again stating the conditions in which love can be given while calling it unconditional! While I realize that there are paradoxes in life, I sense none of that here, just muddy thinking, yet I can't help but keep trying to solve it.

And I thought the "Everything I say is false" paradox was going to be my biggest headache.

ETA: this was made in a moment after seeing yet another "unconditional love" thread that put all sorts of conditions on it (but apparently unaware that the love was therefore conditional). And yet this was helpful for me to understand it:

I've rarely seen love as unconditional, even between parents and children. I'm not entirely sure how to picture it - does it mean that you never have expectations of the other person?

The way I picture it (and yes, unconditional love exists, and it's an evil force, not just to the self but sometimes even to society itself, though usually it's only dangerous to children of the one who unconditionally loves and the like), and the way those who promote it picture it, are two completely different animals. Of course those who promote it put all sorts of conditions on the "unconditional" love so it's not really unconditional.

(NOTE: I shared for fun, but if there truly is unconditional love in the technical sense, as opposed to the conditional love miscalled unconditional that seems popular, then it comes from pets.)

I've experienced it. It also goes both ways with some of us - whatever they do, I love them.

Yeah, the unconditional love can easily go two way between a human and pet, one that arguably beats out all other types of love (at least with some people).

Very good thread.

The most stupid couple that people call soulmates and twin flames cuz they love each other "deeply" is DEstiny (like people likes to call)
Damon and Elena from the vampire diaries.

I need more of this.It is funny and actually throw some truths in our faces.

Maybe some illustrations about relationships on a specific thread? It is a good way to learn all together.
