hi 26 Taures,

I know, finally. Sorry about all the delays. I just finished looking at your chart and I think I might have my info screwed up. I got a 9 degree Capricorn Ascendant for you but I could swear seeing an 18 degree Asc. elsewhere. What is the degree? (This kind of confusion is typical of a Rx Mercury) If I have it wrong then just give me you're stats again and I'll rectify. So for right now lets start with your Capricorn Ascendant

(Howard Sasportas)

Saturn, the ruler of Capricorn, has a spilt personality in mythology. On the one hand, we hear about him castrating his father and eating his children. In this sense, he represents a repressive principle - critical, cold and harsh. On the other hand, however, in Roman mythology he ruled over the Golden Age. The Saturnalia was a festival of licence, sensuality, abundance and indulgence - the time of the cornucopia.

The qualities of Capricorn on the Ascendant reflect the dual nature of Saturn. Remembering the general principle that we find ourselves through developing the qualities of the Ascendant, Capricorn there suggests that an appreciation of these two sides of life is needed.

The first side of Capricorn is well-documented. With this sign rising, there is often the sense that a stern father watches over them expecting obedience and certain achievements from his children. The energy and enthusiasm of the previous sign, Sagittarius, must be used practically and productively and within defined limits. They cannot just flow or float with whatever comes along or allow themselves to be swept away by every whim or passion. In order to meet the requirements of the father-in-oneself, Capricorn rising has to cautiously plan and structure the life, building logically and slowly towards achieving goals and ambitions. Energy must be carefully measured out and this calls for discipline and control. Capricorn rules the knees; and sooner or later those with this Ascendant must bend in submission to a higher authority - internal or external - which expects something of them. Like Job, it is often through hardship and frustration that Capricorn rising is humbled and learns to accept certain laws, limits and structures. Like Christ, there may be doubts at the last minute whether the sacrifices were all worth it.

In short, Capricorn rising needs to 'make something of the self' and achieve some degree of collective validation and respect. They may rebel and try to escape lessons and responsibilities, but eventually it dawns that they simply feel better if they face obligations, whether to themselves or to others.

What about the other side of Saturn - the deity who ruled over the Golden Age? As a cardinal Earth sign, Capricorn has the capacity to operate very efficiently in teh material world. Through developing their potential adeptness in handling and organizing practical affairs, Capricorn rising experiences a sense of fulfilment and accomplishment. Next to Virgo, no other Ascending sign is better capable of creating order out of chaos than Capricorn, or taking a vision of possibilities and making it real. And we mustn't forget the Pan or Satyr side of earthy Capricorn - the capacity to enjoy the physical senses and the natural world. Perhaps it is becaeuse Capricorn rising is so aware of the harsher realities of life, that he / she can, by contrast, savour that which is sensual and beautiful.

Capricorn rising has the feeling and watery side of Cancer on the Descendant. The soft-edged, fleshy and rounded image of Cancer opposes and naturally moderates the rigidity and inflexibility of Capricorn. Capricorn rising may look so tough to the world, but often runs home to be pampered and mothered by its mate. In spite of an external hardness or diffidence, those with Capricorn on the Ascendant are unusually sensitive to the feelings of those close to them and often adapt themselves to meet their partners' needs. The stern and judging Father is mediated by the all-accepting and protective Mother. If in one sphere of life we go too far in one direction, life compensates for it in other places.

Many astrologers believe that Capricorn rising, like good wine, matures or ripens well, becoming better and happier with time. Physically, Capricorn on the cusp of the 1st often appears fairly wiry and lean; and there is usually something distinctive about the bone structure in the face. Sometimes, like Pan and his followers, they look a little devilish.

The harsher and more stringent side of Capricorn rising may use sensitivity to other people (Cancer on the Descendant) as a means of better manipulating and controlling situations to personal gain. Another side of Capricorn rising, however, will work hard and discipline the self to bring gifts and talents to the world.

Wow lala! Thank you so much! And what a great memory you have!! You are right my ASC is at 18' Capricorn not 9'.

Here's my infor again:

That was probably the best interpretation of the Cap ASC I've read. I have to get some of his books.

I'd never heard of the duality of Saturn and the Cap ASC quite like that. It was very spot on. Especially this part:

I appreciate you doing this for us. I really do need a brush up. But I just want you to know, I wont feel bad if you concentrate on the others more. The Knowflakes who really dont know much and need more help with their astrological studies. So feel free to neglect me if you need to. LOL I wont feel slighted.

Love to you,
26

Hi 26T

I'm pretty much caught up now but thank you, you're such a sweet girl.

We're working on Mercury right now
You have a wonderful trine with Saturn, a very down to earth aspect

Mercury trine or sextile Saturn (Charles Carter)

These planets have much in common, and even some of their less fortunate mutual aspects are productive of some degree of good.

The trine and sextile incline to depth of thought, sometimes along intellectual lines and sometimes in more worldly directions. But the tendency is invariably towards what can be used practically, either by the native or by others. It gives good powers of organisation and arrangement, and is excellent for a general or politician. Details are never overlooked, and the native does not mind taking pains. Sometimes there is marked ambition, but the native is prepared to labour for his results.

The limiting effects of Saturn may be seen in a too practical and commonplace tendency; one may find such a type as the 'practical housewife' under this influence, and it may indicate something of a martinet. There is nearly always a serious outlook.

Generally speaking, the mind is exceedingly methodical; all problems are, as it were, carefully sorted and arranged in their component parts, and are studied and mastered in detail. It is as a rule a very honest configuration, and one that tends to morality and self-control.

Wow, that was right on. Great interpretation of that aspect. I havent payed too much attention to the relationship of Merc and Saturn in my chart so that was great and made alot of sense. Thank you lala.

I have a question about natal NN conj. Moon. This is something in my chart that I am very curious about but cant seem to get a concete understanding of. I've searched for info on this aspect but havent turned up much. What do you have to say about it? Or do you have any good interpretations you could share? It's in the 8th house BTW.

Thank you for any light you can shed. And please, take your time. I have plenty of it and I know you are busy.

Thanks a bunch lala.

hey sweetie,

As you know the Nodes are ecliptic points and not planets. As far as I know they really don't add traits per se, but they do guide you on your karmic path.
The sign and house placement of the nodes gives us clues to where we've been (karmically in past lives) and as to what direction we should be headed in to evolve. For you the NN in Libra shows that your karmic destiny is worked out in a partnership (Libra). The SN in Aries shows impatience with others and in the past you were a powerhouse on your own. You alone ruled, you know the old saying "if you want something done right do it yourself"? that describes SN in Aries.

(Mohan Koparkar)

Moon conjunct North Node: This aspect provides great internal emotional satisfaction for these people. If not, at least they will provide such satisfaction for others. Basically, this aspect represents better emotional distribution within or without the individual. Support from mother or 'mother-figure' is of utmost significance for them in this life. The idea of taking something from 'mother' and being a 'mother-figure' to someone is highly under focus. These people go through ultra high and low emotional stages in this category. As a result, it is best not to provoke them emotionally at the wrong time. Vivid imagination and stronger sensitivity towards some of the past-life experiences and their illumination is noticed in this aspect. They may go through typical or unusual emotional experiences which could be a part of their recent life externalization, with a great similarity to reality.

Thank you lala! Youre the best.

Oh yes, I know all too well about the independent side of myself. Sometimes it's a little too strong I believe. And this lifetime's lessons are definitely all about relationships and how to have them.

That interpretation was right on. Especially these parts:

This aspect provides great internal emotional satisfaction for these people. If not, at least they will provide such satisfaction for others.

Hey Sweetie,

We're on Venus right now, this is especially important for you being a Sun in Taures. 5th house Venus in Gemini
opposite Neptune
square the moon
sextile Saturn

Venus in Gemini
(Isabel Hickey)

Here is the light, airy, charming, superficial Venus if she does not have fixed signs to balance her forces. Great charm, wit, and expressiveness. Understands passion but does not feel it too strongly. Emotions are sifted through the mind instead of through the feelings. An entertaining companion but not one to be taken too seriously. Needs to learn constancy. Hard for them to decide on one love when there are so many from which to choose. Often two important loves in the life, though not always at the same time. Very friendly, and makes a delightful companion if you do not try to pin the butterfly down. Strong relationship with kinsfolk.

Venus in the 5th House
(Bill Herbst)

Conscious persona: In the 5th house, Venus indicates a role formed around images of personal beauty and grace. You want to be seen as loving. Psychologically, you're more a dancer or a model than an actor. The conscious ego presentation is socially tactful, with an emphasis on magnetic receptivity. The pitfall surrounds confusion between subject and object, between entertaining and being entertained, while the challenge is to make your personal beauty shine forth for all to see and enjoy.

Romance, giving love: You tend to fall in love with love. This is the ingenue placement; and as with the other receptive planets, the Moon and Neptune, there is an inversion of ordinary fifth house modes. You give love by receiving it. Put another way, you characteristically attract others through the presentation of personal 'loveliness' - the method is magnetic and receptive rather than assertive. Seduction and insincerity become possible pitfalls, along with confusion between giving and receiving affection. The challenge is to love with great poise, as well as beauty; to turn the risk of courtship into a smooth dance where the beloved feels charmed rather than pushed. The importance of beautiful images reaches a peak with Venus.

Sexual performance: Lovemaking is an aesthetic art, a display of grace and beauty. The 'woman' energy is strong within you, regardless of biology; and centripetal charisma is your natural form of self-expression - drawing the beloved further and further into the current of your personal beauty. As with the Moon, this placement indicates an active expression of self that is reactive in form; but unlike the Moon, there is receptivity here rather than responsiveness. You receive so graciously that others are charmed. Sometimes you succumb to the pitfall of vanity - 'mirror, mirror, on the wall...' - but Venus is so smooth that even this indignity rarely provokes protest from your lovers, at least not at first. Your challenge is to become beauty personified in the act of lovemaking, to bring heaven to earth.

Personal creativity: Artistic creativity is emphasized, of course, but in a way that blends in rather than standing out. You have a broad appreciation of aesthetics; and often your body and personality are the canvasses upon which you paint your loveliest pictures. The pitfall lies in becoming narcissistically sensitized to your own ego, falling in love with your image in the mirror. The challenge is to make every creative process seem a natural extension of self, and to make your gracious acceptance of applause truly sincere.

Competition: By its nature, Venus wants to minimize any discord, so competition is not attractive to you, except insofar as you compete around beauty. The ordinary connotation is altered; here it becomes the ability to achieve harmonious interaction in the face of conflict. You'll 'fight' inside to maintain balanced self-presentation in a social setting. It's not 'winning over others', but rather 'winning them over' to your side - winning their affection, friendship, and affirmation. The pitfall involves shrinking from any competition, while the challenge is to make every risk seem a flowing, effortless dance.

Moon square Venus (Betty Lundsted)

The Moon represents the physical mother and how she reacts to her life at the time of our birth, and how she reacts to us emotionally. Venus represents the psychological efect of the mother's concepts of femininity and love that is retained in our psyche. The square between these planets represents emotional stress absorbed in the childhood. This square indicates excessive feelings of resentment regarding the biological role women are forced to play; it therefore indiactes that the mother had certain resentments about the responsibilities of mother hood when this child was born. She may have grown out of these feelings; she may have adjusted to the role of motherhood later on in the marriage. But when this child was born, the mother passed on a feeling that women had to justify or prove their existence, that a woman was a second-class citizen.

When this aspect occurs in a woman's chart, it often indicates a deep-rooted feeling of insecurity about her femininity, feelings of insecurity about motherhood, feelings of resentment about the biological role that women must play. The resentment is directed toward the dedication that is deemed necessary in order to raise children, for a woman with this aspect doesn't like the drudrgery involved in caring for children. Women with this aspect may not marry, because they are often afraid to admit that they don't want children of thier own. They may not feel that they are really womanly or feminine; they resent the freedom they think men have; sometimes they function on a homosexual level in order to avoid pregnancy. If they have little exposure to the concept of femininity on any level, these women may even be prone to hysterectomy, for they are subconsciously willing to give up the physical symbols of femininity. It's very difficult to get mature women to talk freely about this aspect because our culture programs all women to 'enjoy' motherhood. Until recent years, if a woman didn't want children we thought there was something wrong with her. Until now, a woman who didn't want children had to avoid discussing her feelings about the matter; she simply would avoid marriage, for example. She might have dated only noneligible ne'er-do-wells, enabling her to 'righteously' avoid marriage, since it makes no sense to marry an alcoholic, a drug addict or an unemployable. (Her friends and family merely deplored her taste in men.)

There are many ways this aspect can defeat the feminine function. A woman may fall in love with a married man, but the relationship obviously cannot be consummated with children. Or, she may avoid all relationships. Or, she may function on a homosexual level; everyone is so busy diagnosing her 'homosexual problem' that they never look into the underlying cause - a fear of mother hood, a rejection of the biological role. Women who have children in spite of this aspect are often pushed into motherhood by the social pressures engendered by friends and family. They seldom enjoy the early years of motherhood, and resent not being free to have a career. Sometimes this resentment is taken out on her children. How much resentment may be directed toward her children will be show by the other Moon or Venus aspects in her chart. This aspect is seldom discussed with her children, for she often feels guilty about her attitude toward them and later pretends that she 'loved' her children always.

If the woman with the Moon-Venus square understands that she is afraid of motherhood, as well as the feminine side of her nature, she can then begin to consciously open up to allow herself to examine the 'woman' experience. A 'woman' doesn't have to be our mother's concept of womanhood - especially in today's culture. Today's woman is free to explore her femininity; literature is available Bout the women's movement, the mythology of woman, the positions held by women in ancient religions, the female goddesses, and the emergence of woman-consciousness. These doors are closed to her if she cannot first accept that there is a problem to be worked out. Many women think that if they recognize Mom's problem they have to hate her for it. As we mature and as we begin to experience our own life crises, we begin to understand that we, too, may have a child in the middle of a growth cycle and that our growing pains will affect our child as well. When we understand this, we can no longer hate a mother who gave all she was capable of, for she could give only what she knew. Perhaps both the child and the mother learn something from their relationship to each other.

The male born with Venus square the Moon has a different problem because he is a man and not a woman. His mother didn't like her biological role; she resented being stuck with diapers and the 2 a.m. feedings, and she probably didn't get enough understanding or help from her husband when this child was born. The mother may have given up all hope of a much wanted career.

The male with this aspect has a different dilemma from the female who has it, for he will have to make peace with the concept of his emotional worth, or his values regarding women, or both. When he grows up, the chances are that he won't expect a woman to be in his corner, and he may have a closed attitude about the possibilities of any love relationship. He is affected by his mother's lack of respect for 'womanhood' in general. The square indicates that his Mom didn't like or respect other women; and, if she's a woman and she didn't like women, why should he?

His image of woman is not healthy. He may dislike his mother intense, for if Venus indicates the psychological influence of his mother, the square indicates that the influence was not constructive. Venus (the concept of love) works against (sqare) his normal emotional responses (Moon). He is apt to be confused about love situations. In order to further understand the possibilities of this particular configuration, look at the other aspects to Venus, the Moon and Mars. This will give a picture of the odds as to how he will choose to express himself emotionally. This can be the chart of a man who chooses to express himself homosexually because he really dislikes hie mother as well as women in general. This may be a man who overreacts whenever he has contact with women. This aspect can indicate a man who doesn't appreciate (Venus) his own feeling nature (Moon).

Venus opposition Neptune
(Robert Pelletier)

With Venus opposition Neptune, you have a boundless and sometimes dangerous imagination. In your desire to achieve the highest human experiences, you may take unnecessary risks. Your idealism is linked with clouded vision, and when the cloud lifts you may suffer disappointment. Your dreams are easily shattered because they are unrealistic. You imagine qualities in others that they can't possibly come up to. Once someone deceives you, your trust will be difficult to regain.

You have artistic leaning and should try to become involved in artistic pursuits. Be honest with yourself in evaluating your talents. If you will accept less challenging tasks, your self-confidence will not be destroyed by competition. You can express your creative potentials and derive much satisfaction from your contribution, but don't compare yourself with others. You are only responsible for exercising your own capabilities, so forget about how others function.

Because of your deeply sensitive nature, you would probably work best with someone you sincerely trust. In your profession, don't expose yourself; let someone else be your spokesperson. If you speak for yourself, you'll only antagonize others in an indefinable way, and you will wonder just what went wrong.

Your suspicious nature is strongly evident in your personal and romantic attachments. Here you are your own worst enemy. In close dealings with others, you often suspect dishonesty, which causes them to erect protective defences. You are never quite sure whether your feelings are love or fascination, and you fear negative results. This is not a realistic framework for developing true love. You must 'come clean' in discussing problems that arise between you and your partner. Much damage can result if you don't.

Venus sextile Saturn (Robert Pelletier)

The sextile between Venus and Saturn shows that you know what you want and are willing to endure privation to get it. No sacrifice is too great if you know you can obtain your wishes thereby. Realizing that little is ever gained by wishing on a star, you accept your responsibilities as an investment in the future. You quietly go about your business, knowing that the benefits you gain will be worth the adjustments or concessions made earlier.

Your early conditioning prepared you to accept public and private responsibilities. Even among your friends, you can be depended upon to fill any obligation you've taken on. Reliable, sincere, honest, and fair, you have the respect of casual acquaintances as well as those closest to you. You are willing to earn your way and you refuse to become obligated to others by allowing them to do favors for you. Knowing you can succeed on your own merits, you pursue your goals independently and without assistance, if necessary. You are willing to meet people halfway, but no more. You like everything to be in order, and plan your affairs very carefully, trusting nothing to chance.

You have exceptionally good judgement and understanding. When you communicate your ideas, other people know precisely what you mean. You are also a good listener who is willing to learn from those who have greater experience. These qualities lend themselves well to occupations in the fields of finance and banking, building trades, insurance, law, real estate, sales, or design. You are reasonably easy to get along with because your your patience and ability to meet others halfway.

You don't volunteer your feelings about a person until you are quite sure the feeling is mutual. You may even be considered shy and withdrawn, but the truth is that you make overtures only to those who mean something to you. You have social grace and polish and unfailingly conduct yourself with refinement and good taste. You dislike vulgarity, preferring to direct your attention to more cultural interests.

Your brother and / or sisters probably look to you for help in their problems because of your mature outlook on life and dependable judgement.

You are reasonably optimistic about the future, knowing you will meet the 'right' person with whom you can share a rich and fulfilling life. The many good qualities you bring to a relationship can help assure its permanence.

Thank you lala

That was fabulous! I'm quoting the parts that are spot on.

5th house Venus:

You tend to fall in love with love. This is the ingenue placement; and as with the other receptive planets, the Moon and Neptune, there is an inversion of ordinary fifth house modes.

Moon square Venus:

The square between these planets represents emotional stress absorbed in the childhood.

Venus opposite Neptune:

Venus sextile Saturn:

The sextile between Venus and Saturn shows that you know what you want and are willing to endure privation to get it. No sacrifice is too great if you know you can obtain your wishes thereby. Realizing that little is ever gained by wishing on a star, you accept your responsibilities as an investment in the future. Thinking about it, I think that the contact between Venus and Saturn is felt strongest within me. Which would make sense as a Capricorn rising with Saturn in the 7th house. That area in my chart could prove to be the most rewarding and fulfilling part of my life, if I choose it.

I would say my Venus/Neptune opposition is the next most strongly felt Venus aspect. Artistic dreamer. Sensitive, unrealistic, tendency towards escapism. Clouded romantic vision and so on and so on....

Funny, I had a psychic tell me I would have two "really good kids." Makes sense with Gemini in that house (having two).

We'll see! I hope so.

Hi 26T,

Uranus conjunct the MC in Scorpio. I love it, Uranus is exalted here and is so right on. Thats why your grasp on interpretation is so good.

Uranus conjuct MC Scorpio
(Karen Hamaker-Zondag)

With a Midheaven / Uranus conjunction, we are constanly revising the view we have of ourselves and of our social and professional prospects. Business relationships change with the changing self-image. This can imply a run of different jobs, or a flexible work schedule with room for original ideas. Generally speaking, we cope well (if not absolutely calmly) with stressful situations.

One desideratum is a place where we can spread ourselves. Working on our own is what we find most attractive, because it leaves us reasonably free. it is best for us to have an employer; but one who gives us responsibility. We know our own mind. People sometimes see us as unco-operative: and not without good reason, since we have no time for rules and regulations and seldom go through the motions of keeping them. But this is part and parcel of a refusal to recognize limitations, the good side of which is a creativity that can take us far in technical or other work.

Now Uranus has a certain steeliness; once we have chosen the path, nothing and no-one is allowed to bar the way. Having set our sights on some target, we are prepared to give it our best shot. On the other hand, if we lose interest in a thing we are very loath to waste further time on it.

Uranus in Scorpio
(Julia and Derek Parker)

Here Uranus is perhaps at its most weighty and complex. Remember that the planet's influence is increased since it is exalted in this sign; the dynamic force of Uranus, added to the emotional intensity of Scorpio, gives considerable extra power to the subject. He or she is brave and daring, but tends to avoid showing the emotions and may even try to reject them. As a result, he will appear calm while much is boiling up on deeper levels of his personality. He must accept that the gradual release of emotional tension and energy is good, and when channeled they can be used positively and rewardingly so that inner satisfaction accompanies achievement.

A need for power is sometimes present. People with this placing will have been born between 1975 and 1981. If older generations do not give them careful, sound guidance, they will waste some pwoerful potential and energy. The influence will be at its most dynamic if the Sun, Moon or Ascendant sign is Scorpio, or if that sign and Uranus were on or near the Midheaven. These youngsters need to feel they are in a powerful position - often to help the world or to make it think in the same way that they do. If their parents realize they have potential and give firm guidance, they will do well; but association with the seamier sides of life may drag them down.

lala, thank you. This is one of my favorite (yet also, at times, most troublesome) aspects in my chart.

quote:
We know our own mind. People sometimes see us as unco-operative: and not without good reason, since we have no time for rules and regulations and seldom go through the motions of keeping them. But this is part and parcel of a refusal to recognize limitations, the good side of which is a creativity that can take us far in technical or other work.

BTW, I just sent you off an email. Talk to you soon.

Hope you are having a happy Mothers Day lovely!
