Hi. Is there a post or link on LL that discusses Chiron in synastry? In particular Chiron/Venus in opposition to each other? Would this be a relationship to steer clear of...wounded love? Thanks

Kay,

I don't use Chiron in synastry. Here is an old link: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/000662.html

You can find more by Googling with the "advanced search" options.

Linking,

Tim

Thanks Tim. Switch of topics...how does Pluto present itself in the 1st house synastrically speaking? Is that a karmic situation? I am wondering because I have always had a strained/fearful relationship with my mother and I've just found out her time of birth and such. Her Pluto falls in my 1st and my Sat falls in her 1st. And I would love to escapeeeeeeeeee!

Kay,

Everything we do is "karma" (an action). So everything in a chart is "karma" (actions we are taking). The RESULTS of our actions is "vipaka". As one site puts it karma is "volition, volitional or intentional activity. Karma is always followed by its fruit, Vipaka. Karma and Vipaka are oftentimes referred to as the law of causality, a cardinal concern in the Teaching of the Buddha." So talking about "karma" to me has always seemed silly. The only time we are "karmic" all the time: it is our Vipaka that people should be concerned about.

That said, when A's Pluto (transformation, also control) is in B's 1rst houe (being), B feels A (Mom) is personally controlling or personally in control of B (you). When B's Saturn (duty, also authority, restriction) is in A's 1rst house, A (Mom) feels B (you) is trying to be an authority or is restrictive in some way. So you see your mom as controlling and she sees you as "bossy".

Now that you know that, you can work WITH this to understand why there will always be issues between you and make an effort to lessen these issues. When you find yourself telling your Mom what to do, remind yourself not to be too bossy with her. When your Mom starts to be controlling, find out if she has your best interests in mind. If she does, work with her to work things out.

If you are not "of age" (legally an adult) your Mom is still the "boss" and you have to work with her to get along with her. After you become an adult, then it's your decision as to whether you want to put up with feeling "controlled".

And, if you are not "of age", even without the synastry, this is normal teenage rebellion, when we decide we want to be "our own person". This process prepares us for being out on our own in the coming years.

Plutonically Saturnal,

Tim

Hey Tim,

I will be 30 years old in 2 months and my mother still tries to control me. I cannot speak for her, but on occassion she has told me I'm not the boss of her and I'm not controlling her even when I didn't think that I was. IE...she was invited to a friend of mine's bachelorette party and I didn't think she should go because no one her age was going to be there. And I told her that I didn't think she should go. She got really upset and told me she I am not in charge of her and she could do whatever she wanted. Part of the reason why I didn't want her to go is because I'm sort of embarassed by her behavoir at times. She's an alcoholic and I become ashamed by her behavior. My friend has no knowledge of my mother being an alcoholic she just thinks that she's really cool and fun, whereas I know the difference. So in a way I do restrict her when it comes to that. The other reason for me not wanting her to go was because she always would say the same thing about my grandmother (who by the way is a very hip widow) who she thinks is controlling. The reason why asked about Chiron was because her Chiron conjuncts my Moon and I do feel the pain at times. One time she told me "mothers and daughters can't live together"! And I thought that was outright stupid and I just looked at her and she sort bowed her head as in "what I just said, sounded stupid". Didn't meant to go on ranting, she just called me at work and ****** me off.

Kay,

So now you know. YOU are the "adult" (Saturn) to her (1rst house) for a very real reason. And she knows it and dislikes it, although she understands why it needs to be that way. When a person's children become the "grown ups" this is very difficult for the person to take. But since your mother is an alchoholic, it is way it has to be. All you can do is be gentle in your "disciplining" but with an alchoholic that may or may not work.

Wishing you the best,

Tim
