My Saturn is in the second house. This seems kind of strange to me, as I have not had financial troubles, but rather an ease, in this area.
Ceri said that the 2nd house can be a house of self esteem. I have struggled, a great deal, with trying to lift up my self esteem from childhood abuse.

So, perhaps, Chiron in the 2nd House may be financial woes, whereas Saturn may be struggles, with eventual maturity and the ability to overcome.
What do you think? I put that out there for discussion, as we are looking at both Chiron and Saturn in the Houses.
This should be interesting. Can't wait to hear from you

I have Saturn in my fifth house, and true to the explanations that I've read on it I can be a bit of a party pooper, and that I really don't know how to really relax and have fun. I've read that Saturn here can delay any artistic talent or for it to be fully realized; and as the days go on I believe to be more and more true. I know I have talent it's just that I really started focusing on it in the last couple of years and it took me till now for me to fully accept that if I am to master pencil drawing, painting , etc then I will have to have 10+ years of practicing and training to do so =/. Quite a sobering realization lol.

Makes total sense. Saturn will allow one to reap rewards with maturity. To me, Chiron will always hurt, at some level. Other Astrologers do not agree with this about Chiron, but it is my personal opinion.

Where is your Chiron?

Well I have Saturn in the 10th house.
Cjt MC, moon, mercury. Square asc, sq pluto. trine jupiter R in the 6th.

I just posted a question in maybe the wrong thread. Is saturn in cancer a "contradiction" = I want to suceed in the world outside, but feel like I really can't ?

My contribution to the thread:
It has been always difficult for me to know what I wanted to do in life, for a living. But I always wanted to be a good professional, to be technically good, respected, and to have a career. (I just never knew how to put that into practice ! ;-) So, obviously: delay.

Most of the time it is like my way is blocked at work, by specific people or by invisible forces - or maybe the dominant mentality where I work. At the same time, I can impress others by doing a good job, and thus try to open some doors in the future.

Reputation and my image at work are very important.

I dont like people telling me what to do !

my family committments do feel like a burden to me, that I wish I did not have.

yes, I feel not supported, understood nor validated by them.

my mother was the main character in our lives. She was restrictive, authoritarian and kind of dominant, but not really helpful (in what the 10th house is concerned). In fact she used to infuse doubts, questionings, insecurity and fear, but as she matured and developed spiritually she improved. Of course she has some wonderful qualities :-)

Father did not live with us, as they got divorced when we were children. Also his condition did not allow him to have an active role in society like everybody else.

When I was 30/31 years old I started to work for the government - I read saturn has to do with the government somewhere. Currently not in a structured career.

But no, money has never been a main concern, not until now I am reaching 40 ! I look back and think What ? This should have always been my main concern ! :-)

Again, never looked for material security.

I think it is difficult to analyse these chart characteristics isolatedly - because I remember other chart aspects and placements that contribute, or seem to reinforce those characteristics.

I answered on the other thread. Go check that!
Basically, you WILL succeed, perhaps more so with this Saturn placement, but you will have a slow and steady climb.

You must not give up, as Saturn does demand that of us, in the places in the chart which he touches.

I also have Saturn in the fifth house with it squaring my sun but also have a fifth house stellium. I'm creatively charged basically but definitely experience long bouts of self-denial of my own abilities and lack of confidence in expressing my full crazy, weird, creative self. friends help though

I completely relate to this, though, Saturn is the only planet in my 5th house, but it sextiles my sun and squares my mercury. I also go through bouts of denial of artistic ability, and that I need friends to help bring out the more crazy and weird side of myself. Because of the square to my mercury I also have a extremely difficult time actually putting my thoughts into words practically making me mute most of the time (most of my friends happen to be air signs, and my best friend a gemini oddly enough lol.)

Interesting about Saturn sq Mercury. Could you elaborate more on how you feel this? Did you father squelch your communication?

Oh no no no. Neither of my parents inhibited or controlled how I spoke or presented my speech. I do remember though, and I have many report cards to validate this, that throughout elementary school( and part of middle school) I always had a problem with paying attention during class and/or distracting others from what was going on by talking to them.

My friend and I joke about how I went from being a really outgoing talkative little kid to being extremley quiet and shy; and that she went from being a shy quiet kid to being EXTREMELY outgoing and talkative.

My talkativeness faded as I got older and it eventually ended around 7th grade. If I ever got in trouble in school it was because I was talking too much and distracting classmates from what was going on.

But you asked about how I felt about this square. I extremely detest this aspect..I really really REALLY do. It keeps me from communicating normally and fluidly like the way I would like too. I may be in a situation--and I have-- where I have the perfect opportunity to spit out a witty line, but it doesn't come to me until 10 min later. I kick myself over what I may have told people thinking that it might have given them a bad impression about me. Being that my mercury also opposes Jupiter I can tell someone, a complete stranger even, my life story and be feel just fine, though I may stumble over myself here and there.

My mercury is in gemini in the 8th house, so I know I am capable of having deep conversation on things and actually sound intelligent buuutt with my Saturn squaring my mercury (my third house is also in Capricorn)I can have a sentence perfectly worded in my mind, but when I try to say it I stumble over myself and not even say what I had worded. I think I end up confusing people most of the time if I try to explain something and or what I am thinking. I turn a simple explanation into a complex one.

So, because of this, I am extremely quiet and only say something if I am confident enough about what I have to say on a topic to actually speak up and put in my input. I am much better at putting my thoughts on paper than actually voicing them.

I checked my Planetary Position from astro.com, is that what we are talking.
Saturn in 2nd House.
I had struggle a lot for financial security. I have grown from street to here. I have worked hard in every job to prove myself. I have worked hard to study day and night.
I heard the people who have 2nd house in Saturn - usually are more financially stable in their late age. Is that true.

Hmm...sometimes I feel that way. I feel that everything is based now on what you or don't have. Everything has become very image conscious & I feel that if I don't have 'enough' then I won't be ok. No matter how hard I work I may not have enough. Stupid I know but sometimes I feel that way. Not an ideal feeling to have.

That is your 2nd house Saturn talking DF. The 2nd house Saturn can be low self esteem, too.
I have a 2nd house Saturn, too. Saturn does leave you alone, as you mature though

Groups may be hard. Also your hopes and dreams may be really hard places of struggle, in that you feel you will not meet them without a great deal of discipline and effort and this may weigh heavily on you. Does this fit? xx
