This is another topic for all Scorpio and 8th house suns. Why are these people so hard to approach, to get to know or to figure out? I recognized that most of them are extremely private individuals and some even make it to become living secret themselves. Even when you know them for years, they can still keep their dark sides - never revealing anything of it and showing not their “true natue” . They usually trust just a few people and choose friendships wisely. Do they know that others can’t handle it? Is it self-protection?

I'm not a Scorpio Sun or 8th house Sun, but I'll still try answering your question.I have Scorpio Mars in 8th and Pluto in 12th. I'm just extremely self-protective and secretive despite being Sag Ascendant, but that could be because I'm a cancer sun/moon. I think though that I trust strangers rather easily.. (Neptune in 1st?) But when I trust someone 100% it's really different. I'm just afraid of showing my "dark side," I just don't want to talk about it, I want to keep it as a secret. Only a few people know about it and I prefer to keep it this way. IP: Logged |

I'm a Sagittarius sun in the 8th house... IMO, because 8th house people are more sensitive (8th is ruled by a water sign, after all), we learned to hide parts of ourselves as a form of self-protection. The world we live in isn't very kind to sensitive people, and I think 8th house suns and Scorpios are more aware of that than most.IP: Logged |

8th house sun in Gemini, Scorp rising. I would love people to know me better. Even intimately. (Probably moon in Leo playing into that part.) Most people never actually look. They accept what's on the surface as all there is. Or worse, only see what their preconceptions tell them to see.For those who make it past those first two hurdles, I still sometimes feel like I have to leave a trail of breadcrumbs. Gemini sun = multiple sides to a personality + 8 house = hidden, secret, or intimate. I'm a hidden treasure waiting to be discovered by those willing to be clever and just a tiny bit persistent! Is there a particular Sun in 8th house person that is frustrating you? Lol. When someone is born into the water houses, they become more sensitive to the nuances and vibrancy of things intangible. So they learn to quieten their mind, quieten their thoughts and also self-introspect. The 8th house Sun individual is trying to understand the forces of life and is, most times, trying to be the master of their Universe:This entails moment-to-moment awareness of what one is doing and why. This may lead to circumspect behavior, a "shadowy" demeanor or the inability to fully express their intentions. This also fully applies to those who have Pluto-Sun conjunct, opposite or square. Pluto-IC conjunct, opposite or square. Scorpio rising. Pluto conjunct, opposite or square the Asc Pluto conjunct, opposite or square Mercury IP: Logged |

Wow - we have a very similar configuration! I am a Sag. rising, Pluto in Scorpio H12, Mars in Cancer H8. I can relate quite a bit to what you're saying here. I have a very intense dark side... but I often try to hide it with the sunny, witty Sag. rising exterior. However, sooner or later, my dark side will emerge, and it is usually in sexual situations behind closed doors, or with people in private behind closed doors. It is very troubling to me. (Pluto and Mars are connected in a trine.)

They are sitting back and waiting to see who is willing to jump through all those hoops to get to know them. Less chance of someone like that hurting them.IP: Logged |

Yeah. I have dark, intense side -- but if you met me on the street for example you would never guess it. I appear smiling, friendly yet quiet and shy. (I have Saturn in 3rd so I'm not very talkative to strangers.) So I look "innocent."

Very much like Moon in Lunatic, I come across to most people as a career driven, innocent, even girl next door type but I have a seething underbelly of deep dark secrets and proclivities that I have experienced mainly in my past. Some people know and I do enjoy telling some like minded people and some secrets stay in my head. My sun in pisces is in the 8th house and I have felt this strongly for most of my life. I don't know if any other aspects or placements in my chart encourage the interest I have in taboo or dark subjects though. I am also attracted to scorpio people, men or woman. IP: Logged |

I have a 3rd house Saturn and I can understand where you're coming from. I'm not really shy when people first meet me. I'm more firm, proper speaking...I come across as self-controlled and intellectual. Saturn squares my ASC. I seem witty and charming (Sag. influence and Sun sextile ASC) but at the same time, a little reserved and unwilling to get into personal topics due to Saturn. Essentially, I don't think anyone would ever guess with a first meeting that I have such emotional, intense depths of feeling that often overwhelm me. IP: Logged |

I actually am not sure if I'm shy or just reserved. I know the difference, but idk... Maybe I'm a bit of both? I also have Mercury in 7th square my 3rd house Saturn, so it sucks lol. I have an afflicted Mercury too.. I have Jupiter-Venus-Asc Grand Trine. My Jupiter and Venus are early earth but my Sag Asc is late one. Mars is also sextile Asc, so I have really nicely aspected Asc. I feel more comfortable talking about random things than about myself when first meeting. Even if I'm not loud or super outgoing Sag Asc, I have really Sagittarian humour and mindset (I think.) IP: Logged |
