I read so many times that if one wants to know when a serious relationship will take place, one should look at the natal Sun/Moon midpoint activities.

Sure enough, My natal Sun/Moon midpoint was transited by both Uranus and Neptune - squared and opposited at 0 and 1 degree- when i got married. A slow repetative transit, making room for shifting and changes. There were no Progressions and or SA to this midpoint at that time. Transits work though!

Have you noticed the same pattern in your charts when a serious relationship/marriage started?

Also, seems like the Composite and the Davison Sun/Moon midpoint is active in relationships. Cosmitech websites says that one shall check to see if this midpoint is on partner's luminaries.
I was hesitant at first, I mean...a midpoint of two midpoints?..hmm..but to my surprise, the Sun/Moon midpoint in our Composite equals the Sun/Moon midpoint in the Davison ( despite the lumanries in the two charts being in completely different signs and degrees) and that midpoint is on mine and his natal ASC/DSC and my Sun as well. *HOT DAWN* I thought..
Composite Sun/Moon midpoint is at 3' Virgo, and my natal ASC/DSC and my Nodes are at 3' Virgo, my Sun is at 1' Virgo. His ASC/DSC is at 3' Saggy, so the midpoint is on his angles as well.
on the other side, the Davison Sun/Moon midpoint is at 1' 20 Saggy and it activates everything above as well.
How rare and profound..

Thank you, Orange, interesting thread!

Our composite Sun/Moon midpoint 11 Leo conjuncts my natal Moon (3) opposes his natal Juno (2).

Our Davison Sun/Moon 8 Taurus (where Venus conjunct Karma are) widely opposes his natal Moon (7) on my MC/IC axis (7).

What is interesting: our Draconic Davison Sun/Moon midpoint 12 Leo, our Draconic Composite Sun/Moon midpoint 11 Aquarius. I wonder is this common, due to NN alignment, but maybe not.

What do you think about ASC (19) exactly conjunct Sun/Moon midpoint (19) in synastry?

I have the reverse.

Composite Sun conjunct his Sun/Moon-mp
Davison Sun opposite his Sun/Moon-mp

composite Moon conjunt my Sun/Moon-mp
Davison Moon opposite my Sun/Moon-mp

(also in my Moon-persona my Moon is conjunct his natal Sun/Moon-mp, in his Moon-Persona his Moon is conjunct my natal Sun/Moon-mp)

Here's what the author Rose Murray
she say's about it:

"I've found no matter how compatible two horoscopes may seem to be, two people seldom marry or sustain a serious relationship unless one of the following indications is seen between the two charts:

*The Sun/Moon midpoint of one partner is in hard aspect to the Sun or Moon of the other. (A hard aspect includes the conjunction, opposition, square, semisquare, or sesquisquare). I would also add the quincunx to this.

*The composite Sun/Moon midpoint is in hard aspect to the Sun or Moon of one or both of the partners.

*The Composite Sun/Moon midpoint is the halfway point between the degree of your Sun and Moon.

It definitely fits for my parents.

My Dad`s Moon opposes my Mum`s Sun
His Sun/Moon-mp is semisquare her Sun (and conjunct her Venus)

(my Mum`s Sun/Moon-mp quindecile my Dads Moon).

Their compospite Sun/Moon-mp is not activating either luminary, but here again the composie luminary is activating then atal midpoint.

composite Moon squares my Mum`s Sun/Moon-mp
composite Sun squares my Dad`s Sun/Moon-mp

Ceri, What is the chance really to have such synchronicity between two charts..all that interconnections between Sun, Moon, their midpoint and the midpoint of the Sun/Sun - Moon/ Moon . Relationships like that Seem like a special connection and not occasional at that.
Aside from the midpoint picture i mentioned before, our Composite ASC is at 18'42 Aries, and his Natal Sun/Moon midpoint is at 18'30 Aries. My natal Venus opposites that ( and sits on composite Dsc).

LL,
I dont know how ASC = Sun/Moon manifests, but i have it too in synastry. My ASC, Nodes and Venus are on his Sun/Moon.

Can somebody confirm if the natal Sun/ Moon midpoint was activated by transits or/ and progressions at the onset of a serious relationship. I did have that.

In my synastry, apart from the ASC Sun/Moon conjunction, I have planets on midpoints, but no hard aspects involving personal Sun and Moon. I have, however, an almost exact (minutes) DW Sun to Sun/Moon midpoint trine.

The theory of hard aspects in synastry doesn't apply to my parents either. Interestingly, My Dad's Sun also trines my Mom's Sun/Moon midpoint. Mom's Moon biquintile Dad's Sun/Moon midpoint exact (144).

In composite, however, Composite Sun squares Mom's Sun/Moon midpoint.

I'll check the transits and progressions for the beginning of important relationships.

I have the following situation for the onset of the relationship, interesting because of the exact aspects:

Transit Neptune conjunct my Sun/Moon mdp exact
Transit Juno quincunx my Sun/Moon mdp exact

him

Transit Jupiter conjunct his Sun/Moon mdp almost exact
Transit Neptune semisquare exact
Transit Psyche semisquare exact
Transit Mars/Eros quincunx (1)

Progressed:

me

Progressed Moon square my sun/moon mdp (4) rather wide for midpoints

him

Progressed Pluto sesquisquare his Sun/Moon mdp exact

The most interesting situation: Progressed Composite:

Progressed composite Moon conjunct Juno (2) right on my natal Sun/moon mdp and semisquare his Sun/Moon midpint (BTW, we have an exact sesquisquare/semi between our mdps)

I find this Juno thing interesting.

Progressed composite Karma sesquisquare my Sun/Moon mdp (1)
Progressed composite Pluto sesquisquare his Sun/Mon mdp (2)

When my current relationship (he seems to be a keeper; we first met 20+ years ago but only got together about a year ago) began:

Transiting Venus opposed and Jupiter squared my Sun/Moon Midpoint, while the Sun squared his Sun/Moon Midpoint, with Uranus quincunx and Pluto trine, all within about 1 degree.

In natals, my Sun/Moon Midpoint opposes his ASC exact, while his Sun/Moon Midpoint squares my ASC within less than 1 degree.

I don't see anything too exciting (yet) in the composite Sun/Moon midpoints, except maybe that they are within the first few degrees of Scorpio:

Composite: 5.54 Scorpio
Davison: 4.04 Scorpio
Date We Got Together: 2.27 Scorpio

Interesting, I have the same situation, Orange too. I've just realized it's not about the ASC, it actually means DSC conjunct the other's Sun/Moon midpoint. There are no oppositions to midpoints.

So my DSC conjuncts his Sun/Moon midpoint.

In your case, his DSC conjuncts your Sun/Moon midpoint, and his squares your DSC, a DW, very strong contact, like saying you are meant to be each other's partner. Obviously, the TOB has to be exact.

Not a relationship, but the impression he left is undeniable.

When we first met

Transit Jupiter conjunct my natal Sun/Moon-mp (0°34)
Transit Jupite conjunct my n Avx (0°37)

Transit Jupiter conjunct his n Venus (3°50)

Transit Jupiter conjunct c-Moon (0°48)

Transit Juno conjunct his natal Sun/Moon-mp (1°19)
Transit Juno square his natal VX (2°03)
Transit Juno conjunct his natal Sun (0°30)
Transit Juno conjunct his natal Moon (2°12)
Transit Juno conjunct his natal MC (2°05)

Transit Juno conjunct my natal Sun (0°30)
Transit Juno conjunct my natal MErcury (1°24)

Transit Juno conjunct c-Sun (0°00)
Transit Jupiter conjunct c-Moon (0°48)
Transit KARMA opp. c-Sun/Moon (0°50)

Transit Juno opp. Davison c-Sun (1°02)
Transit Jupiter opp. Davison Moon (1°17)

Transit KARMA conj. D Sun/Moon-mp (1°20)

his pr Sun/Moon-mp was conjunct my n Sun/Moon-mp with about 2 degree orb, and conj. my Avx, and right on the midpoint of the conjunction of c Venus (16 Cap) and c Moon (22 Cap).
Also was conj. my pr VESTA on 19 Cap (can`t escape this Vesta of mine. lol) but also square my natal Chiron on 20 Aries.
opp. my natal ERos, too.

natally his pr Sun/Moon-mp was opposite his pr Juno (on my Vertex, Eros and Sun/Moon-mp exact) and squaring his pr Vertex-Pluto conjunction (Pluto 8th house ruler)

I was having a quarter Moon and additionally Sun on the very last minute of 29.59 Capricorn, and pr Moon just having entered 00 Taurus.

my pr Sun/Moon-mp was on 15.15 Pisces.
conj. my own pr Jupiter and n Juno with about 1 degree orb.
and opposing his pr Mars on 15.21 Virgo

natally my pr Avx was exactly conj my natal Moon (and pr Mercury and pr Venus).

since Pluto rules the 8th for him, and Moon the 8th for me, we both wree having a progression involving Vertex and 8th house ruler (they are also trine each other, and in the 11th harmonic chart his 11th ASC is conjunct my natal 8th ruler, and my 11th ASC is conjunct his natal 8th ruler).

Doesn't have anything to do with S/M midpoints, but since Juno was mentioned I just noticed something strange (to me, at least):

Transiting Juno was trine his Venus (0.58) and quincunx my Venus (also 0.58). [In natals, our Venuses are quincunx by 1.56 - or twice 0.58].

What I find interesting, Ceri, is that you too have Juno and Jupiter aspects.

About that Vesta of yours...following you around lol... I think you should visit here, if you haven't already:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Temple_of_Vesta

There is also the one in Tivoli, which I haven't visited, but it looks superb:

Seems like natal Sun/Moon midpoint is clearly marking the start of a relationship by transits, mostly, and could be by progressions as well.
In my case, like I mentioned before, TR Neptune and Uranus were both transiting my natal midopoint at that time.

ok wow

just checked the beginning of another life changing relationship for me..TR Saturn was at 21' Cancer which exactly conjuncts my natal Sun/Moon midpoint at 21' Cancer.

TR Nodes were at 21' Aries, which was exactly on my midpoint, as well.

Clearly! Natal Sun/Moon midpoint activated by transits from slow moving planets is the real deal.

If you want to start looking at asteroid transits, transiting Valentine was trine his Sun/Moon Midpoint exact, while transiting Angel was trine my Sun/Moon Midpoint exact. (By exact, I mean the same degree).

While not on the same degree, transiting Union was quincunx my Sun/Moon Midpoint (0.49) and sesquisquare his Sun/Moon Midpoint (0.35).

My guess is that's just for starters. Those are just a few that jump out at me.

The moment (12 years ago) I got diagnosed with something very serious physically (which made me a pretty urgent case suddenly.. 'relationships' with doctors all started promptly etc.) ...

My natal Sun/Moon midpoint;
26'59 Virgo - Pisces.

T. Saturn;
26'37 Gem.

T. Moon (moment of diagnosis)
26'39 Sag.

Funnily enough this ^^ was also the only thing that really stood out in the transits.

Ow btw, my Pluto is within 1 conjunct my Sun/Moon midpoint (virgo).

another astonishing transit to my natal Sun/Moon midpoint

I checked the transits for the time when I started a very 50-shades-of-gray relationship, which was entirely based on sex and was never a relationship/dating kinda thing... and, TR Lilith was at 19' Libra at the beginning of it, activating my sun/moon midpoint.
How fitting!

Which means TR Saturn was exactly squaring your natal Pluto, a very trying time, very difficult time, hence your health issues. Saturn on Pluto is something i never look forward.
