Thank you, Leeloo. I just love letting stories unfold. I am aware that it is just one way to read it, but now and then I like to let my mind drift like that. Probably this is ther eason I am so attached to astrology. tulipe, thank you, too. Cappy,
nope, no new crush. That was the Davison of Mr Sag and me. Not even getting into aspects and asteroids big time. lol I think I am going to do the one on Mr Law and me next. As I said I like fantasizing.

I haven´t made up my mind yet. But some astrologers imply it seems to be more karmic (though it is not really getting the real meaning I suppose). Well, it seems like it is more related to the external manifestation of a connection, as compared to the composite highlighting the themes between the couple on the basis of their respective personalities (and natal themes). I find it difficult to describe this though. IP: Logged |

I, personally, dont use Davison, i simply dont like the basis on which it was constructed. It makes no sense to me to create a planetary, geometrical chart based entirely on a day which is the middle of two birthdates. I like the simplicity and the logic of the Composite, the end result of two energies working together. Davison is too random to me. IP: Logged |

There definitely seem to be different "factions" of astrologers in regard to this. Some argumenting against the Davison the same way as you do; the other who favour Davison usually disagree with the composite as being an "artificial chart", that never existed in terms of a "real map of the sky". I am just summarizing, not giving an opinion either way.
Actually I think the idea behind Davision is, that each birth date, which is the basis for the natal horoscope anyway, contains all potential of a personality.
The composite and the Davison actually both use the same mental hypothesis, placing value on the midpoint, just in one case between each set of planets, while the Davisonists are deriving their midpoint from the days (which contain the natal potential anyway) themselves. I do think that possibly both hypothesis could be debatable. (well not to me, I believe in the power of midpoints ). But I can understand that astrologers might say: What qualitative information could the midpoint between two positions possibly deliver? Especially since there are TWO midpoints in a circle (which we conveniently neglect when erecting composites; sure we use the shortest midpoint, but why really? Because Robert Hand said so? )
And the midpoint between two positions can be made up of so very different aspects or angular distances. What is the qualitative difference?
For example: Venus on 00 Aries and Venus on 00 Leo
Venus on 00 Pisces and Venus on 00 Virgo etc. etc. having the same midpoint; in both composites Venus would end up on 00 Gemini, but it most certainly would be a different Gemini-Venus for both relationships. (I think that is where the importance to relating back the composite to the natals comes into play). Same goes for synastric midpoints, I have started to at least make a mental note of the underlying aspect forming the midpoint. For example:
someones Venus on my Jupiter/Neptune-mp (in my chart Jupiter and Neptune are square, hence my Jupiter and Neptune semisquare his Venus. someone else`s Jupiter/Neptune-mp might end up on the same degree, but the underlying aspect could be a trine with sextiles to his Venus, I think there will be a (at least gradual) difference in the manifestation of this aspect.
I think I might have gotten strayed away from the topic a little. Sorry.

Thanks for that, Ceri, very interesting point of view.
Personally, I pay an extra attention to the composite because I believe in midpoints. After all, we are bringing a sky map into bi-dimensional, into a geometrical map and then we play with geometry, and what is revealing about a chart is this underlying geometrical dance, which proves to be so harmonious and congruent on so many levels. They are both abstractions, but Davison seems more abstract to me because it creates a place in time and space between two people - it can only have a metaphorical value. for this place and this time really exists, but it doesn't mean the two of them are somehow connected to it. However, as an extrapolation of meeting halfway/at midnight, it is quite poetic. I look at the composite and then at the Davison chart and usually Davison is congruent with the Composite, it completes the story, so why not? They are both two ways of looking at the same story, both abstract and poetic.

Actually, it would be interesting to know what happens with this third time and this third place: are they supposed to meet there somehow, someday? Should we find important events happening on that exact time for one or both of them? Is the place karmic in its nature for their story? What do you all think?IP: Logged |

My love story . As the transit Sun is now square Neptune, I feel a little imaginative. ASC: how it all begins Zuni Indians Perform a Ritual to the Sun It’s a meeting of two like-minded persons. We’re a Sag couple who like to celebrate life’s nature. We feel good being with each other, so naturally, we took another step toward each other. IC - your shared cozy hidden secret A Woman, Fecundated By her Own Spirit, is ‘Great with Child’ What we have together can’t be explained by logic or facts. What we create is greater than ourselves, a feat that would be deemed impossible, but we see it as a miracle. DSC - how you are together A Large White Dove Bearing A Message We’re like lovebirds together Always there’s a sense of being blessed to have found each other. MC - how do they see you A symbolical Battle Between ‘Swords’ and ‘Torches’ As oppose to our love nest, to the outsiders we’re as different as day and night. They see the struggles as two headstrong individuals learn to be a duo. Sun - what this is all about The Head Of A Robust Youth Changes Into That Of A Mature Thinker Although not young in age, we still haven’t learned to be responsible adults. Through this relationship, we discover true maturity. We already have the tools within us, we just need the right person to push us in that direction, and we certainly found that in each other. Moon - the deepest you could feel During A Silent Hour, A Man Receives A New Inspiration Which May Change His Life After all that chaos fighting and struggling, when we calm down, we realize this romance has a will of its own. It wants us to change who we used to be. But dare we take that chance? Are we brave enough to do it? Venus - how your love is A clear mountain stream It is as pure as rain, as fresh as water. And it will still flow as long as rain still falls, and water still transforms in cycles. Mars - how your bodies meet The First Mockingbird of Spring Everytime we hold hands, it feels like the first time. Hope is in the air, and something better is about to happen. Mercury - the idea that holds you together The Head Of A Robust Youth Changes Into That Of A Mature Thinker It’s because we grow together, that we think there’s still so much to learn with each other. It’s being a better person, a new view on practical life, taking responsibility isn’t as gruesome as we thought it was when we have the other in our lives. Jupiter - your greatest chance A Watchdog Stands Guard, Protecting His Master and his Possessions Our greatest chance is by safeguard what we create together, our little secret nest. By loyalty to our true selves and our relationship, we will go that long, long distance. Saturn - your fate together After Having Heard An Inspired Individual Deliver His ‘Sermon On the Mount’, Crowds Are Returning Home Being two Sags, we both long to travel and meet people, to discover life. No matter we take the adventures together or not, as the saying ‘to journey away is to come back closer’, we’ll always come back to us. Pluto - this you will transform only together A House-Raising party in a Small Village Enlists the Neighbors’ Cooperation The power is in our hands. We can do anything that we set our mind to. We gain supports by first changing ourselves. Uranus - what's unexpected Sea Gulls Fly Around A ship In Expectation of Food As the love is so cozy and natural, we didn’t foresee to have to deal with so much expectations from our families, our friends, and even our practical lives. They make us lost track of how we are together. As our love nest is not build on logic, it won’t fit in with social expectations. Neptune - your shared dream A Human Soul, In its Eagerness For New Experiences, Seeks Embodiment Two childlike Sags, we long to experience all that life has to offer. This is what makes us travel, sometimes away from our sweetheart and it makes us stronger instead of leaves us crumbled. SN - how you met A Path Through Woods Brilliant with Multicolored Splendor Our meeting is being guided and blessed. There’s no way we would have passed through each other unoticed. NN - where you are headed A Woman Airing An Old Bag Through The Open Window Of Her Room It’s a journey of shedding old mindset baggages that hold us down. And if we choose to seize this opportunity, a door will open for us to find each other again. -------------- I have an almost astro Davison twin with Muddytoes . Can you relate to my story, Muddy? Not realy researching either, just using them to spark an idea or image, which most probably comes from what I already know inside, but they help getting it to the surface. The first one with christmas-mentioning, always like that one. Feels like warm comfortable nostalgia to me, back to a time when everything was somehow easier, comfortable, protected, warm.
But I am aware that I was lucky to have such great chrhistmas memories. IP: Logged |

Ugh, I'm showing my lack of holiday spirit aren't i?? I never got to celebrate holidays so I don't have any warm fuzzy memories, I wish I did! I've tried as an adult to figure out what your supposed to feel but so far it just feels like a lot of money for toys that might get played with for a week, a lot of cooking(nobody taught me how to cook a Christmas dinner, lol, I figured it out but the 1st one...OMG, very bad!) and cleaning and more cleaning. Last year we started a new tradition, Christmas lasagna! It was great! No one in my family celebrates so it's just me n my kids, I feel so bad for them because I don't have a clue what I'm doing! Lol I have 2 posts up there, the first is for my potential TF? Those interps are genuinely how I feel. The 2nd, the one with the Christmas Sabian symbol is for the guy I'm seeing now, he's potentially a guardian kind if energy....but I'm not happy with him right this second and that's why all the interps are not so sweet..sorry!
