House overlays in famous synastriesa first batch Brangelina
her Sun/merc in his 7th her Venus/Saturn in his 8th her Pluto in his 10th her Uranus in his 11th her Neptune on his ASC (sec 5th) her Moon/Mars/Jupiter in his sec 8th his Sun in her 5th his Moon/Venus/Merc/Mars in her 6th - not a love house his Saturn in her 7th/8th, her sec 5th his Jupiter in her sec 6th - very interesting - not a love house, nothing significant in Virgo either his Uranus/Pluto in her 2nd his Neptune in her 4th (her Venus house) prevalence of direct overlays, with his love houses more activated than hers Joanne/Paul Newman
her Sun/Venus/Moon in his 2nd (IC in taurus) - in his interception..great placement! her Uranus in his sec 5th her Jupiter in his 5th her Pluto in his 7th her Neptune in his 8th her Saturn in his 12th (Pisces intercepted - a double activation of the intercepetion) on
his ASC his Sun in her 1st (her iC in Aries) his moon/uranus in her 2nd - sec 5th his mars in her 3rd - not a love house his pluto on her dsc his neptune in her 8th his saturn in her 10th (her asc in cap) his jupiter in her 12th - not a love house and on her ASC his Venus/Merc on her ASC (well, of course, the 1st is a major attraction/marital/ love house in general) mixed, his houses more activated than hers Linda/Paul her sun/neptune in his 1st - sec 8th her merc/moon/venus in his 2nd (his venus house) her moon in his 3rd - mc in gem (their professional connection) her mars in his 8th her uranus/saturn/jupiter in his 9th (his IC in sag) jupiter on mc her pluto in his 11th-sec 5th his sun/jupiter/merc in her 8th his mars/pluto in her 9th his moon on her mc his neptune in her 11th (her IC in aqua) his venus/uranus/saturn in her 7th mixed, more direct for her Elizabeth/Robert Browning her sun/mars/mercury in his 2nd - sec 5th, also intercepted and in his 3rd, along with venus/pluto - his sec 7th impressive! an overall of 5 planets in his sec 7th out of which 3 are also in his sec 5th her moon in his 9th (his asc in sag) her uranus/saturn in his 10th her neptune in his 12th her jupiter in his 1st his sun/merc in her 8th his mars in her 9th (her IC in sag) his venus/jupiter in her 10th, her interception! directly and indirectly; she has cancer/cap interception, his venus/jupiter are in cancer his uranus in her 2nd/3rd (her Mc in gem) - their poetic connection his neptune in her 3rd his saturn in her 4th his pluto in her 6th his moon in her 7th almost half of his planets activate her 9th house...interesting secondary for him, but very strong, more direct for her, but not with a love house preponderence for her - although sun in 8th and moon in 7th are strong enough they strongly and mutually activate their interceptions I find the IC connections in all these examples quite intriguing.

It's important to keep in mind the secondary 5th, 7th, and 8th houses can work with more then just overlays. It works with symbolism matches, and house ruler synastry too. My secondary 7th house is my 3rd house... Aquarius ruled by Uranus in Scorpio. I most definitely feel an attraction to those two signs. Especially if they also have lots of Aries or Sagittarius in their chart (from my primary 5th and 7th houses. Aries on the 5th, and Jupiter in the 7th). IP: Logged |

Yes, indeed; I was just looking at the direct overlays, to see how balanced they are with each other and what is the theme. For example Linda Paul also have a strong professional theme, Liz and Robert Browning a poetry/learning/philosophy theme. Only 4 examples, more to come. ------------------

It's sometimes coincidental that it's a secondary house. In many cases, some traditionally not relationship- or attraction-oriented houses become oriented in this direction because they're sexualised, or otherwise given attractive potential.A worthwhile study would be to compare those synastries in which secondary houses are dominant, versus what other attractive markers and patterns are active. For example, how and why Gemini is featured in my relationships is curious. it could be my secondary fifth activated -- or the fact that I have a 3H lunar-based stellium, including EROS and LILITH. My MARS is also 3H. Let's look at the other predominant pattern. Sagittarius -- especially mid-Sagittarius. Sometimes I think it's my VALENTINE at 15º SAG taking control of matters there; sure, I have a 1H JUPITER, too, which is sextile my MOON, 1º30. And nothin' but my 9H CHIRON. OH. My DSC-R is SAG NEP. 20º. Maybe that's enough. So, taking the secondary rundown, we've got: 12H in LEO 10H in GEM 1H in VIR. And, as I've already mentioned, it's hard to say to what the GEM's attributed. And I suppose the SAG is a combo of the DSC-R and VALENTINE. IP: Logged |

According to that theory i should have been attracted to those who put their planets in my 12th (secondary DSC), 10th (secondary 5th) or 1st (secondary 8th). While it may be somewhat true with 1st house, but i think it is just because the first house really is also about attraction - you notice those people, never the less. But unless there are planets in my main romance houses OR the rulers of those houses receive multiple aspects from someone, i won't be as attracted. Interestingly, i do not feel 5th house attraction on its own. For me there is no need to activate my 5th house ruler, it's Saturn. My type of ideal love would be 8th house, 7th house.
Sag rising so secondary 7th house is the 3rd which is in aquarius and I have BML there which is part of a love grandcross and opposes my venus and mars squares my psyche and chariklo. This grandcross always gets activated for me when I am really into someone..... IP: Logged |

These house cusps are symbolically linked to the sign on your DSC… showing what other traits you are attracted to in others, apart from just what the DSC alone shows. Aries rising, Libra DSC… The 7th House has double importance. Taurus rising, Scorpio DSC… Look to the 8th House. Gemini rising, Sagittarius DSC… Look to the 9th House Cancer rising, Capricorn DSC… Look to the 10th House Leo rising, Aquarius DSC… Look to the 11th House Virgo rising, Pisces DSC… Look to the 12th House Libra rising, Aries DSC… Look to the 1st House Scorpio rising, Taurus DSC… Look to the 2nd House Sagittarius rising, Gemini DSC… Look to the 3rd House Capricorn rising, Cancer DSC… Look to the 4th House Aquarius rising, Leo DSC… Look to the 5th House Pisces rising, Virgo DSC… Look to the 6th House
This theory fits with me. I have sag rising and 3rd cups in aquarius. My BML is in the 3rd and always gets activated with important love rel. and is part of a grandcross.
In addition Uranus which rules my 3rd is an imporant theme in relationships always... Composite with my husband Uranus is in scorpio at 29 deg conjunct very tightly our MC opposing Chiron and this opposition squares our intercepted venus forming a tsquare, making venus the release point of the tsquare. With my Ex uranus was part of the release point of a composite YOD with chiron at the apex and this opposition squared atropos/regulus forming a tsquare. Natally uranus conjuncts my chart ruler Jupiter and this conjunction is my strongest aspect in my chart. My ex has sun conjunct Uranus super tightly and my husband has mars/uranus conjunct DC in scorpio super tightly. Thanks for the info. Very interesting.

My secondary houses are not that prominent.Secondary 5H = 3H Aries (anaretic degree) Secondary 7H = 5H Gemini Secondary 8H = 6H Cancer All of them are empty of any planets. As for asteroids/other objects, my CHIRON sits in the 3H, in Taurus. CERES sits in the 6H, in Cancer. I'm not attracted to Gemini or Cancer in a relationship sense. I have many Cancers in my life though. Both my parents are Cancers. Arians are attractive, but I attribute that to having a Sag SUN and Leo DC - elemental affinity, not to mention a Libra MOON. I like Aries MOON people, in general (my favorite nephew & KD). So 5H = kids and romantic attractiveness, so that makes some sense. I have a strong 8H stellium, plus a couple planets in Scorpio (VENUS, in particular), so I'm mainly attracted to Scorpionic energies. My MARS is a singleton, so that's probably an additional reason I'm attracted to Scorpio in addition to Aries. IP: Logged |

Mine:Secondary 5th=1H Sag (My ex Mars at GC conjuncts my Neptune in the First at CG, Neptune/vertex/IC conjunct almost exact my SN in the first in Sag) Secondary 7th=3H Aquarius (His NN opposes exact my AV in the 3rd, My BML trines his venus/pluto tightly and my NN forming a grand trine) Secondary 8th=4H Pisces (My IC conjuncts his DC, His moon conjuncts my IC and my moon his DC; our moons conjunct in pisces by 5 orbs, neptune rules his DC and my IC). My ex:
Secondary 5th=10H Gemini (My NN conjuncts almost exact his MC) Secondary 7th=12H Leo (My venus/Mars/Karma/Fortuna fall in his 12th and trine his mars and sextiles his venus) Secondary 8th=1H Virgo (His AC conjuncts my mercury almost exact which rules my 7th) My Husband: Secondary 5th=3H Cancer (He has Nessus in the 3rd which my venus/karma/apophis in Leo semisextiles) Secondary 7th=8H Sagittarius (His Neptune conjuncts almost exact my SN which falls in my secondary 5th) Secondary 8th=9H Capricorn (empty 9th house) My husband has mars/uranus conjunct his DC which squares my venus and mars and his venus. His AC squares my venus and mars. His neptune in the 8th conjuncts my SN almost exact. In his case the secondaries are less active. In my case I identify a lot more with my secondary houses as far as what I am attracted to. I think is bc I have important planets and points falling in my secondary houses. I think that what is important is to look at secondary if there is not much action going on with the standard houses and VICE VERSA. I think both can play a very significant role and a nice combination of both types playing out in synastry is probably ideal.
Also just looking at the rulers of the 5th,7th and 8th is very telling too. IP: Logged |

I especially like it when I see combinations of the original and secondary houses working together. Like a synastry planet falls in our natal 5th house and aspects our secondary 7th house ruler. Or a synastry planet falls into our secondary 7th house and aspects our original 5th house ruler. Configurations like this influence the relationship houses on multiple different levels. Keep in mind these are just examples.I wanted to check this kind of connection in my synastry, Lotis, and this is what I found: my Sun (7th ruler) in his 12th (sec 7th) opp his Sun (11th, sec 5th) sextile his Moon (MC ruler) his Sun in my 2nd (my IC in Taurus and 4th is my sec 7th) trine my Saturn (ASC ruler) my Moon (7th ruler) in his 11th (sec 5th) square his Moon (MC) trine his Neptune (DSC ruler) his Moon (MC) on my MC trine my Saturn and my Jupiter (11rh, 2nd, NN ruler) my Venus in his 12th (sec 7th) square his Mars (8th ruler) and Neptune (7th ruler) - also, he has most of his 7th in Aries, DSC at 28 Pisces, so I guess both 12th and 1st are his sec 7th. Opp Jupiter (IC, NN, Sun ruler) his Venus in my 1st (interception) trine my 8th house stellium: Mars, Pluto (MC ruler) and Mercury (5th, 8th ruler) sextile my Neptune (2nd ruler; as I was saying, 4th in Taurus is my sec 7th) my Mars on his ASC, so also connected to his sec. 7th, in a way, conj Pluto (3rd ruler; his Mars in Gem, his Moon in Scorp) Square Saturn (IC/5th ruler, 5th in Aqua) his Mars in my 4th/5th (so in both 5th and sec 7th) square my Venus, opp Neptune (2nd ruler) square Jupiter (11th, NN ruler) trine Mars, Pluto (MC ruler) and Mercury (5th, 8th ruler) it's interesting, many connections to my 2nd house, the house of my IC, and 4th is my sec 7th my 5th/8th ruler Mercury in his 1st, conj Pluto, trine his Venus, his Mars (8th ruler), sextile Neptune (his 7th ruler)
my 7th ruler Moon and Sun - above his 5th ruler Uranus in my 9th )also sec 11th) conj my Uranus (ASC ruler) - in this case there are no other Ptolemaic aspects, but a Golden Yod with this Uranus and my Moon (quintile) and our Suns as the axis, and his Uranus septile my Venus his 5th ruler Saturn in my 5th/6th (on the cusp), with 6th being my sec 8th How do you interpret Saturn in the 5th overlay? his 8th ruler Mars in my 4th/5th with the above connections
his 7th ruler Neptune in my 11th with the above connections his 7th ruler Jupiter in my 1st with the above connections ------------------ I seem to have loved you in numberless forms... IP: Logged |

More famous overlaysMarie/Pierre Curie her sun/venus/mars/saturn in his 8th (his 8th in Scorp) her merc in his 9th (his MC in Sag) her Jupiter in his 12th (his ASC in pisces) her Moon in his 1st, on ASC her Neptune in his 1st, in his intercep. her Pluto in is 2nd her Uranus on his 5th cusp his Saturn in her 7th, in her intercep. his Sun/Uranus in her 4th (her DSC in Cancer) his Mars/Jupiter in her 5th his Jupiter on 6th cusp (her 8th in Virgo) his Venus/Neptune in her 2nd (her IC in taurus) his Merc/Pluto in her 3rd (her 5th in Gem) his Moon in her 9th Michael Douglas/Catherine Zeta Jones his Sun/Neptune/Mars/Venus in her 9th (her ASC in Sag) his Venus on her MC (she has intercepted 1st in cap) his Moon in her 1st in her intercep. (she has IC in Aries) his Saturn in her 7th in her intercep. (her MC in Libra) his Merc/Jupiter/Pluto in her 8th (her 11th in Scorp) his Uranus in her 6th an overwhelming overlay in CZJ's 1st house, direct and indirect it's safe to say he had a major impact on her interception her Sun/Uranus/Merc/Jupiter in his 11th house (his IC in Aqua) her Venus in his 10th her Neptune in his 1st her Moon in his 5th (his 8th in Leo) her Saturn in his 6th her Mars in his 2nd (his DSC in Taurus) most overlays for MD don't fall in his love houses Jennifer Garner/Ben Affleck
her Sun, Saturn, neptune in his intercepetion (the house, not the sign) her Sun/Saturn in his 11th her Venus/Mars/Moon/Saturn in his 12th (his MC in Pisces, his DSc in Cap) her Pluto/Uranus in his 4th (his ASC in Cancer) her Neptune/Jupiter in his 6th (his IC in Virgo) hr Jupiter on his DSc
his Moon in her intercep. in her 7th and they have the same interception his Neptune in her 8th his Jupiter in her 9th (her 8th in Sag) his saturn in her 2nd (Taurus intercept in her 1st) his Venus in her 3rd his Merc in her 4th (her IC in Cancer) his Sun/Mars in her 5th in leo his Pluto/Uranus in her 6th Already from these few examples, primary and secondary angular houses feature as strongly as primary/secondary 5th and 8th. ------------------

This is a little confusing I know someone who has a Sag Rising and Gemini DSC. My Moon falls in their 3rd house in synastry. So does that mean the person would be attracted to me? My Sun falls in their 5th house and my Mars in their 7th.IP: Logged | |
