I contacted him. He responded. Long story short, the lines of communication are slowly reopening, and I get the sense that he was hoping they would. He was also likely waiting to have the opportunity to ask me a few things. One particular question clued me into the fact that he's having the exact same experience I am right now, emotionally.

You'd THINK I'd be used to this by now!

Anyhow, I'm glad that I touched base. We'll see how it goes from here. I think we're going to meet up when my husband and I come back through Phoenix on our way to LA, which would be early January. Who can say?

I'm feeling oddly accomplished now. Like it's something I DID have to do, and now I'm glad that I did. I can field anything that might get crazy, and I can hold my own.

Hell, I might even be able to pick up the phone! ... At least soon.
