I'm curious about peoples experience with this. In my case I have always been the mars person and while it initially seems to start off full of energy and lots of attraction it somehow leads me to become annoyed and even aggressive. For some reason I rebel against this person, at first in a flirtatious manner and then it becomes more about putting them in their place and telling them who's boss.

Perhaps this is more uncomfortable when a it's a woman who is the mars? or is the nature of the conjunction?

hey littlecloud

i'm not much of an astro expert but this aspect is very intriguing. im a mars conjunct sun natal and oddly i feel this contradiction (the one you have experienced) within me hehe..

now considering I’m a libra mars i do exert a lot of "pushiness" towards other librans i mean i love them and adore them but when I’m with them i almost always push them around –in a very subtle Venusian way of course.

im guessing you have a masculine mars, maybe even cardinal cause i feel it too (the show who's boss thing)

I have this with my bf and I am Mars.

Lately I have been especially irritated with him (Mars RX?) and with the things he does or say.

I feel quite bad about it but it feels like I just can't help it.

Sucks.

I have the opposition with someone (I'm Sun and he's Mars). Not the same, but he thinks that he's right when he hasn't given a real argument for his side. He's aggressive too and will just keep going on and on about how he's "right." I never give in though- just laugh and let him think that he's won or is the boss. Lol. No matter how free-spirited he describes himself as, he likes to assert his dominance. He tries so hard to make me see things from his side when there can be so many views about whatever. The first conversation we had felt a bit like an attack because he was trying to insinuate that I was full of it when I said that I hold off on judging people until I get to know them. If you could only hear the screaming in my head when he said that... It's a little confusing sometimes because his Mars also conjuncts my Moon and the whole you-are-the-woman-and-I-am-the-man crap comes up a lot. Oh, his Mars is in Aries. We've disagreed on personal things to just flat out stupid things- the dumbest being a comic book!

You sound to be referring to a specific relationship. do you want to post the syn bi wheel?

Just taking one syn aspect without looking at the charts to me is pointless, as there may be lots of other great contacts that could help out OR hinder the expressions.

Besides knowing that you are like this in relationships, shows a level of awareness, so with conscious effort on your part to be more passive should negate future problems..

SaggiMC, actually I am not referring to a specific relationship and if I had wanted to post a synastry I would've.

"Besides knowing that you are like this in relationships, shows a level of awareness, so with conscious effort on your part to be more passive should negate future problems.."

Your above statement is invalid. Re-read my my original post.

Delilah-
Anytime Aries is involved it seems to be all about the "Me Tarzan. You Jane." I suppose the opposition might be more argumentative prone, where as the conjunction would kiss and make up repeatedly.

I'm curious how different signs would react to the aspect...I'm thinking Fire signs would like the challenge and look at it as foreplay almost. Maybe for Air it would pose more of mental incapability.... Just ideas I'm throwing out there... Anyone else?

I have had the pleasure of experiencing this aspect in Aqua. I was the mars. My mars is at the apex of a t-square, tightly squared by pluto and jupiter. His sun was 2 degrees away conjunct my vertex.

Ah physical part of it was intense, mind blowing, out of this world (passionate yet gentle because of our water moons) . I did get irritated when he just had to be right. I remember a time when we were talking about my carpet. The carpet has a pattern, of two shades, brown and lighter brown. He didn't see it when i just moved in. He went on to say that it was just all stained because he has done carpet cleaning and never seen carpet like that. Hmm ALL stained the same shade??? In my spotless apartment(virgo SN)!? He seriously wouldn't drop it... I was always (seriously) the one to walk away because i was so irritated.

Its plays out in my 7th and his 1st house so kissing and making up was natural to the both of us and we did tons of it

True. The only thing is that I usually let it go when he does this because our time together is so limited that I don't want to waste it by arguing. I just tease him about it to make him laugh (Libra Sun). However, if we lived together it would be an all out war. I think the signs have a lot to do with it. In an air sign, I think it means you're willing to negotiate or make up quicker than a fire sign.

For those of you with this aspect, did you find it accompanied a Sun-Venus conjunction or trine aspect??

I notice that a lot in the progressed synastry; a Sun/Venus conjunction or trine accompanying a Sun/mars conjunction or trine.

I have this with my ex, I’m the mars. In our synastry this conjunction is part of a grand water trine and our Suns also trine. For the most part we do see eye to eye, but when we don’t, it’s like we’re aliens from a different planet! I’m much more aggressive when this happens, he goes on the defensive but he can hold his own. I have no desire to put him in his place; I just want him to admit that I’m right. Idk, I think this is a pretty hot aspect.

I have another Sun/Mars conjunct (non-romantic) and again I’m the mars. The conjunction is a little wider (3 deg). When we first started talking our conversations got pretty heated. It’s an online friendship and we’ve never met. If we had been standing in front of each other during those conversations we would have been yelling and each other, and there was that overwhelming urge to smack him into submission. We are good friends now though.

Sun conjunct Mars
"This is a dynamic comparative combination which can lead to much accomplishment or conflict. Conflicts are usually of the ego variety. If you are to get along harmoniously, you must develop a healthy respect for one another's independence and free will. You are apt to have a good spirit of competition, and sometimes this competition can get vicious. This conjunction often indicates sexual attractions, but of itself doesn't indicate love or tenderness." http://www.astrology-numerology.com/synastryaspects.html

perhaps you just need to find a man that loves being dominaated. :

No. That's what we call 'anger issues'.

YES!!

In men-on-men violence this aspect pops up a lot. The Sun is strong and can defeat anyone in direct combat. However, Mars - God of Vengeance & ruler of Scorpio doesn't fight this way. Mars is the sort to bring a knife to a fist fight, or hit below the belt if he's in the losing position. Against Sun he often is.

It plays out something like this:

Mars vs. Sun in a boxing ring. Mars gets a pummeling. Humiliated, Mars pulls out a gun...Mars wins.

Good description!

I have experienced the opposite though.

It's sort of stalemate but when ever my Mars conjunct Someone's Sun. I feel so alpha and domineering. BUT I never disrespect the Sun because I found them soooooooo! Sexy/Beautiful; Nevertheless, I had to be in charge.

P.S. My experience:

Mars feels one up but never cross the line to disrespect the Sun.

Okay.

re: Mars in Gemini. Until 2006 or so when pVenus in Gemini was part of the equation I found Mars sexy intriguing. Today I find them pushy as though they're gunning for the lead. I won't allow this, so I put on the breaks, close down communication generally.

re: Sun in Taurus. Most often I feel they're trying to assert authority over me, without permission. I won't have this so I rebel, or ignore whatever command they try to give. A fair number of Taurus I meet have Venus in Aries which I find exceedingly annoying in the way they flirt. This doesn't help matters either.
