Charles Dodgson, best known to the world as the late Lewis Carroll of 'Alice in Wonderland' fame, is a distant, matrilineal relative; an uncle thrice removed. It would seem I've inherited a few things from that Victorian era innovator, the brilliant logician, mathematician and storyteller that he was. Not only being a writer myself, but a deft hand at quantum physics, and a predisposition towards multidimensional living, so to speak.

I also couldn't help but notice the sheer number of asteroids named for his creations, from both Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through The Looking-Glass. The only one of the bunch that wasn't directly named is likely ALICE (291). That in and of itself is oddly apt, as she is 'separate' from the rest; merely a visitor passing through.

As such, I've collected them over time, hoping to explore in greater depth what is becoming Carrollian Astrology. One of the better ways to do that seems to be via others; it's through that lens that we can truly gain a greater, more active perspective.

Presently, the following exist, which I am integrating into a sort of emergent 'zodiac' of its own:

ALICE (291)
TEA (453)

(Named in direct honour of, or inspired by, in order of discovery):

CHESHIRECAT (6042)
DODO (6336)
MADHATTER (6735)
MARCHARE (6736)
LEWISCARROLL (6984)
JABBERWOCK (7470)
MOCKTURTLE (8889)
TWEEDLEDEE (9387)
BANDERSNATCH (9780)
REDQUEEN (17518)
WHITEKNIGHT (17612)
TWEEDLEDUM (17681)
WHITERABBIT (17942)

15 points! That's quite a lot for any particular naming theme, outside of Greco-Roman mythology or Ancient Egypt.

And thus, the question becomes, how to use them? What do they mean for us? How do they influence our relationships?

Are we like ALICE, wandering lost within a confusing Wonderland, full of zany, philosophising, riddlesome inhabitants on our way to the 8th square?

Do we give chase to the WHITERABBIT? Something mysterious and even a bit unbelievable, which leads us to a grand series of adventures, right in our own backyard?

Or perhaps the MADHATTER, knowing more than we're saying, appearing mad before the rest, while actually possessing a deeper understanding than realised?

We might be more like the CHESHIRECAT -- appearing and disappearing, seemingly with no reason, offering epiphanies that are at once useful and fleeting?

Or we might be like the master of the worlds himself, LEWISCARROLL, leading something of a double life with a dual personality, in which we are perceived wildly differently, depending upon which mask we don, or face we show to the world.

Perhaps, we find ourselves a bit like the MARCHARE, manipulated for use of our resources, and susceptible to one condition that's a sort of kryptonite or ultimate Achilles' heel; liable to fall prey to a cult of personality which may or may not be our true ally.

At the REDQUEEN, we are subject to a deeper understanding of the principle of evolution and its many forms underlying our everyday existence. She is also in direct opposition to us, (if we are to take Alice's role), a domineering force, able to move effortlessly across the board. It's good to take her as an ally -- if we can. But be wary: appearances can be deceiving, and much is illusory anyhow.

What do you uncover, when synastry goes through the looking-glass?

I'm glad, Gabby.

I'm also a purist. I like to stick with what Dodgson put forth rather than expound using adaptations. Not yet, at least. The White Queen was never named, and, unfortunately, there's no Queen of Hearts that's been designated by an asteroid yet. I hope there will be!

So, for now, I'm only using the above. I've debated on using KING and QUEEN, even as they're a bit general; it could still work. Especially if they're configured.

You know, I'm tempted to begin exploring research into DID (Dissociative Identity Disorder) with LEWISCARROLL. Not that he was a legitimate case, but I do suspect there was some severe psychic fragmentation going on with Dodgson regarding Carroll.
