I, personally, wouldn't consider synastry between each SA, because SA is not about evolution like progression is, but rather a timing tool.

However, I think synchronicity between two SA ( individually) would be a great tool to tell when two people are going thru similar experience at the same time. Like, if the two ppl have a SA to their Venus at the same time - it does show a time for love for both.
Or if both people have marriage indicators in their individual SA at the same time.

the results
------------

my Dad`s solar arc - my Mom`s natal (all 9th harmonic)
-----------------------------------------

My Mom has Moon-NN-MC together in her 9th harmonic chart (within 3 degrees, which is insanely tight orb! must be about 20 minutes in the natal chart at most).

And at the time of their marriage my Dad`s EXACT Venus-MC joins those.

Or in isolated aspects

his sa Venus - her n Moon 3°32 s
his sa Venus - her n NN 1°50 s
his sa Venus - her n MC 0°29 s
his sa MC - her n Moon 3°39 s
his sa MC - her n NN 1°56 s
his sa MC - her n MC 0°36 s

Remember, 0°45 represent one month, so the alignment with he n MC had peaked that very month, the 2 weeks before (preparation for the marriage probably)

apart from that (and that would have sufficed for real!)

his sa Neptune - her n ASC 1°16 s
(Neptune rules his DESC)

I am not even mentioning that his sa Neptune had been on her n Pluto JUST about half a year before. lol

his sa Ceres on her n Saturn 3°29 a
- Saturn is her DESC-ruler -

his sa Uranus on her n Vertex 1°54 a

his sa Pluto on her n DESC 0°40 s
(also highlighting the preceding month)

My mom has yet another 9th harmonic stellium: Ceres-Juno-Sun, within 9 degrees, with Juno falling onto the Sun/Ceres-mp

And it was partly at least configured with my Dad`s sa DESC

his sa DESC - her n Ceres 0°53s
his sa DESC - her n Juno 4°07a
his sa DESC - her n Sun 7°21 a

and to make it more interesting

his sa Mars - her n Sun 3.33 s

his sa Moon - her n Avx 4°38 a
his sa m Lilith - her n Avx 3°31 a

his sa Jupiter - her n Avx 3°13 s

I find the Vertex often emphasized in Solar Returns when a woman gets pregnant, and well my Mom was pregnant with me when they got married, and somehow it seems fitting to have a combination of lunar symbols with Jupiter on her Vertex-axis (actually her Vertex is pretty much on the midpoint of Jupiter and the lunar-symbols here).

LOL Jupiter seems even fitting because I am a Sag.

my MOm`s solar arc - my Dad`s natal

I will keep this a little shorter

her sa Saturn on his n Uranus within one degree applying

her sa Jupiter on his n DESC 6 degrees separating

her sa Venus on his n Moon 5 degrees applying
(and after that would move over his Lilith and Juno)

her sa Pluto-ASC just having moved across his n Ceres

her sa DESC on his n Sun 7 degrees applying
(ha they had a DW of this!)

BTW it was important that they had some activation of her Venus and his Saturn-ASC, as her Venus on his Saturn-ASC is their "special aspect", at least I think so after having listened to a video of cochrane.

here in this instance that was her sa Venus on his n Moon

and his sa DESC on her Ceres-Juno-Sun
(his sa Saturn was opposite her Sun, which is an 18th harmonic aspect, or a seminovile btw)

Not only for both their special aspect came into play through solar arcing, but it activated a luminary for each of them!

Hmm, even if so, Orange, synastry needs to be triggered as well, and that is where timing tools come into play.
Apart from this it is just a different calculation method, but there is no qualitative difference to progressions, other than of course the progressions as stand alone chart highlight a certain evolution. But the moment we use them in conjunction with the natal chart, they are exactly the same (in meaning) like the solar arc chart.

I agree though that the more important tool is comparing if both people are going through similiar experiences or phases, regardless of where the triggering happens.

However if sa Venus activates my Moon, well then my Moon is awakened, and so are the aspects to Moon, including the synastric ones. That is how I see solar arc synastry, the activation of something in my natal chart of course has consequences for the whole synastry and what is being put into the centre.

well, Ceri,
SA being the timing tool, it shows times of certain activities in one's life. Regardless of the synastry with other individuals. The individual's planets didnt trigger those activities in your life, whatever the SA shows to happen in the future is not connected on a synastry level with another. The SA may show another individual entering your life ( if lets say your Venus is activated in you natal chart) but It's more like a psychic tool - foretelling how you will experience life at a certain moment.

LEt`s see if something comes up (9th harmonic wise) for my best friend and her hubby at their wedding date

his sa - her natal
-----------------------
his sa Pluto on her n Jupiter-ASC 3-5 a

his sa Moon on her n Ceres 2 s

his sa DESC on her n Sun 1 s (just like for my parents!)

his sa Saturn on her n Juno 2s

his sa Sun-Venus on her n Venus-Mars (the year before)

his sa MC on her n Uranus-Node 4-7a

her sa Saturn on his n ASC 2 a
(Saturn ruling her DESC)

her sa Moon EXACT on his n Sun 0°32 a

in fact it is

her sa Moon-MC on his n Sun-Venus (widest orb is 3 degrees applying, equaling 4 months)

her sa ASC on his n Juno 4 a

her sa Venus-Mars on his n DESC 7 a (so taking on momentum over the next 9 months or so)

her sa SN-Vertex on his n Vertex

her sa Sun on his n Moon 2 s

her sa Sun on his n Mars 8 a, too

so her sa Moon on his n Sun-Venus
and her sa Sun on his n Moon-Mars

I find the gathering of certain solar arcs at certain times interesting, (when they are exact).
Of course keeping in mind we are talking about 9th harmonic aspects here (but they do seem to be surprisingly valid, progressed 9th harmonic will probably one of the next projects )

What I mean about the gathering is something like this:

in june/july (though I think the neighbouring months would be interesting as well):

his sa Moon = my n Sun

my sa ASC = his n Mercury
my sa Sun = his n MC
my sa Pluto = his n Node

and then around november:

his sa Mercury = my n ASC
his sa Avx = my n Venus
his sa MC = my n Sun (oct-nov.)
his sa NN = my n Pluto (dec.)

my sa Sun = his n Moon

Moon is pretty important for me this year anyway, as my sa Moon has entered 29 Pisces and has started his goodbye to the sign of Pisces which she will leave next year (btw that means that my sa Juno is on 29 Aries and will transition into Taurus next year).

All the way at the bottom of this page:
http://alabe.com/solararc.html

"Using Solar Arcs in Relationship Forecasts

You can also use solar arc lengths to trace the developments in a relationship. Seeing how one person’s current solar arc is setting off the planetary pairs in the other’s natal chart is an easy and effective way to uncover the issues that one partner is currently experiencing as the result of being in a relationship with the other."

I'm excited to look into planetary pairs now!

It seems quite likely that looking at solar arc-solar arc is fruitful too.

Just the fact that certain aspects become synchronized and focus so intensely on those areas of relationship tells us a great deal, I think. In the synastries I've been comparing, the aspects becoming exact by solar arc are indeed quite indicative of the vibe of the relationship (in my limited and biased view)-- perhaps not so much as progressions, but the tight SA inter-aspects seem to me to give a solid picture of the nature of that which is holding the two together, or that which is really highlighted by their interactions in this dimension of time-space...

Yun,

That is what I observe, too.

Actually long long ago and long before ever having read a single line on solar arcs, I had been playing around with this too, and just moved the chart forwards about my age. And well, It was an excessively dreamy surreal but also very happy period in my life (not grounded at all though) and also coinciding with my spiritual-reawakening if you can call it like this. making me meditate, getting my psychics hunches, just knowing certain things, dreams, intense dreams.

Funny enough the period started with two dreams. One contained the "explosion of Neptune" (which started my astro-quest, because I found it weird that in my dream I had been blowing up a whole planet ). Then this led into the phase I just mentioned and that "hot phase" started with a dream in which I walked right into a painting and ended up on the other side, and was actually walking across a pond, until I remember that people cannot walk on water, which is when I drowned.

At that time I had sa Neptune conjunct n Mercury and sa Neptune conjunct n Sun. it could not have been any more fitting symbolism of that timeperiod!

However i was also for the first time in my life having a crush on someone, and it was bizarre, ungrounded, but with a dedication, compulsion and obsessive streak that I can`t quite understand today (if you think my occupation wtih Mr Sag is obsessive, you should have seen me back then! )
It was like falling into a rabbithole.

in the solar arc synastry with that gentleman in question, this occurred:

his sa Neptune conjunct my n Neptune-NN (and hence becoming instrumental in that awakening that was signified in my own sa Neptune-NN conjunct n Sun-Mercury)

his sa Uranus square my n Sun-Mercury

his sa Pluto conjunct my n MC
his sa Pluto square my n Venus

my sa Uranus square his n nodal axis, and actually I was having sa Uranus square my n Moon myself, while Tr PLuto was square my n Moon as well at the same time.

(it highlighted my Moon on his SN)

my sa Mars on my n Venus/Mars-mp and square HIS n Mars

my sa Sun/Venus-mp square his n Sun (and opposite my n Saturn)

my sa Moon conjunct his n Jupiter

Despite the compulsory and irrational emotional attachment it brought a lot of joy, too. (Tr Uranus was conjunct my n Venus and Tr Jupiter opposite my n Venus, it as nice. lol)

But I can see how every single of these aspects played out and became a catalyst for major personal development for me.
