One of the almighty things I see in the synastry of PCT and her guy is an opposing Sun/Moon phase. She has the waning sextile.
Him a waxing trine.
THAT ^ is what I would call a true astronomically based opposing phase with a very high degree of attraction and completion.
Going through my database I see these kind of opposing phases time-after-time in longterm relationships (I mainly look at Venus/Mars and Sun/Moon for that).
But Cochrane however, pinpoints "opposing phases" as being traceable in the Composite as conjunctions and oppositions. But the phases then will be like this;
- waning (semi-)sextile
- waxing (semi-)sextile
OR
- waning trine
- waxing trine
OR;
- 10 deg past the opposition
- 10 deg before the opposition
etc.
note: I really start to have problems with calling the latter ones and its family "opposing phases" as in fact, they aren't TRUE astronomically based opposing phases..
On the other hand, these are;
- waning quincunx
- waxing semi-sextile
- waning square
- waxing square
- conjunction
- opposition
- waxing sextile
- waning trine
- 17 deg past the waxing quincunx
- 17 deg past waning semi-sextile
etc.
Another important symmetrie from Cochrane's perspective is the "same phase angle", one you won't find that much as the opposing phase. But one outstanding example we find of this one is with Paul and Linda Mccartney. BUT... theirs is not JUST a same phase angle, but an EXACT one striking enough, to-the-degree!
But it's all very clear around that one for everyone, namely: with both the Moon is ahead or behind the Sun with (globally) the same amount of degrees. Technically: the midpoint between her Sun and his Moon is conjunct/opp the midpoint of his Sun and her Moon.
Hm... so then, TRUE astronomically based opposing phases, are not taken into account with Cochrane (to not even talk about mainstream astro world). Well, we can say that MATH (composite) has its limits. And it wouldn't surprise me even waaaaaay more than we might think now.
