See, according to the article above you should be madly in love with this guy. Thanks. Your post pretty much confirms my thoughts that angle conjunctions, while significant, are not really the true movers and shakers in attraction.

No, this is where I do not agree entirely. While the houserulers are those that transport the symbolism of the houses to other areas in the chart and therefore become the "messengers" for a particular house, they are not magnetic like a cusp itself. It`s the difference between a calculated point and an actual planet.

However of course house rulers in aspect are very important for attraction and connection.

Perhaps you're right about the only house cusps having the sucking type energy. And yeah, I'm even more attracted to conjunctions of my 7th house ruler, then my Dsc, regardless. For some it's the reverse. It's all about context really. I've put the concerns I had because of this article to rest. Back to my original model of thinking!

I haven't been here lately, but I remember this article and the discussion here, Lotis, and I see it as very important for our effort to understand two major astrological mysteries: angles vs. planetary energy and unrequited love. Thank you for posting it

As a short idea right now, my take on the matter is that personally I see angles as having slightly different passive/active energy, while I agree in some instances this energy switches. To me, the ASC has an Aries/Mars flavor, DSC Libra/Venus, IC Cancer/Moon and MC Capricorn/Saturn. It seems to me, by way of examples, that we are the "dominant" energy (having the upper hand, a little) when a planet conjuncts our ASC/MC and we tend to be the "subdued" by the planet conjuncting our IC/DSC. Of course, this is just a starting point in interpretation, and the whole interaction in synastry/natal charts, and the nature of the conjuncting planets would give the accurate description of the dynamics on a case-by-case basis.

I've come to the current perspective that the angles do receive the energies from the planets...in synastry I think the angle recipient takes longer to digest the energy coming from there mate. Like it is comfortable but unfamiliar if that makes any sense. I think the same would hold true for someone putting planets in an empty natal house. It feels really great but the recipient is not sure how to handle the energy. Perhaps that may be why some have referenced an unrequited love aspect...not sure. I just think it takes longer to sync and is dependent on the recipient of love. There are so many other factors for sure...transits to make the recipient open to receiving, natal blockages perhaps. I've just noticed this in my own personal relationships and with others I am close to that I read for.
