Hi folks! I was wondering, do aspects to the Sun's ruler figure importantly in your close relationships? I feel like those aspects touch a chord in us, speak right to the core of our being on some level. 'Coz the ruler of our Sun sign, is, in a way, what the sign is about. So, in a way, it is also what we are all about.. And wouldn't something that puts "what-I'm-all-about" in an inviting spotlight, appeal to us in a special way? In the (somewhat limited) examples I've seen, that does seem to be the case. For instance: Mercury contacts matter more to Gems/Virgos, Pluto contacts have greater significance for Scorps, etc.. What are your experiences/thoughts on this? IP: Logged |

Yeah, I’m a great believer in dispositors and house rulers both in terms of their natal influence, and their significance in synastry. My Cap Sun loves to feel secure and make constructive improvements to things. I’ve got Saturn in Virgo. If I feel like somebody is going to support me in this need It’s a big bonus. I’m also into alternative and natural health, and would love to share this interest with somebody in terms of shaping our lifestyle and such. I don’t think I’d deal very well with somebody really irresponsible who makes a mess out of situations. That sort of thing would turn me into a nervous wreck. I think positive aspects to my Saturn would be very reassuring because it would give me that sense of security that I crave. Ironically I love fire signs. So if I end up with one he’d have to make nice with my Saturn.

Elysia I just remembered, I made a thread about this years ago:Sun's ruler key planet in synastry? You wrote: quote: For instance: Mercury contacts matter more to Gems/Virgos
I wrote: quote: Like, are strong Mercury contacts particularly important to Gemini and Virgo?
Why are we alike? I wonder which of your outer planets is on my sun.... IP: Logged |

Omg!!! Look at that thread... Freakin' déjà vu. FYI, I too was thinking about a particular Virgo when I wrote that. And a particular Scorpio, for that matter. I think my Neptune (sidebar: Neptune - that's so fitting, ain't it?), at ~14° Cap, is probably just a degree or so away from your Sun. Am I right..? if so, we have a lovely Sun-Neptune conjunction! Also, my North Node is not far away, (~13° Cap) and I seem to be literally following in your footsteps. Gosh, I love astrology! IP: Logged |

@ElysiaYes that's it! My sun @ 15 Cap AMAZING how many similarities there are between us. Including the kind of online behavior that bothers us. You've said so many of the same things I did...I once tried looking for one of my old threads, to show you how something you said was almost word for word what I had said. Just couldn't find it (yet). IP: Logged |

Wow, yes! My Sun is in Sagittarius and its ruler (my Jupiter) is in Leo. My Jupiter conjuncts my husband's North Node, which is a very significant and beneficial aspect in synastry I believe. My Jupiter/his North Node in Leo also trines his Sagittarius Ascendant which conjuncts my Sagittarius Sun and Venus.IP: Logged |

I wonder if the ruler of the Moon would be a 'major player' in love synastries too.For example someone with a Gemini Moon. Hers/his Mercury is making good aspects to the planets of the other person. That could 'trigger' feelings or something? IP: Logged |

Interesting! In my case, it's a definite yes! My Moon is in Leo and its ruler (my Sun) is in Sagittarius. My Sun conjuncts my Venus and my husband's Ascendant in Sagittarius and trines my Jupiter/his North Node in Leo.

Yeah! I was wondering when I wrote this post... So, do you think, other than the relationship house rulers, personal planet rulers -to- planets are also influences in synastry..? If so, in what way? In a way that 're-inforces' or strengthens an existing planet-planet connection, or in a way that 'adds flavour' (of the ruler) to an existing connection? Or something else entirely... IP: Logged |
