the mars/Neptune midpoint is square to the node and vertex. with the sun/vertex and node in a stellium, your observations of a karmic connection are correct as ths stellium gives similar otherworldly feelings and with mercury/sun midpoint conjunct the south node you have telepathy and a very open mental connection.
the sun/venus and sun/mars midpoints are conjunct to mercury which shows the relationship has a very positive,affectionate and joyous side to it.
this mental/psychic connection is hindered as pluto is square to mercury which shows that inner issues re not being brought out.

What are the best ways to decipher the cause/nature of the karmic conflict?? Draconic synastry?

He always desired a conventional marriage, given his Christian upbringing, but I think he's conflicted with what he thinks he should want versus what's going to accommodate his.....lifestyle. Do we have any indicators of an unconventional marriage?? I know Uranus is at play here a bit...

Again, I am hoping his mental state will solidify once Pluto separates from his Capricorn node, but with his retrograde Juno and Sag. moon, I'm scared that serial cheating is just a part of who he is, even if he really loves me. Obviously I can't invest my resources into someone who will just knock up another girl and be forced to support them instead of me because he would have to "do the right thing", ironically.
