Hi,

I'd be interested in your experience with moon in partner's 8th house overlay in synastry. I would have thought that it's the 8th house person who is more affected, but from the various infos I found online, I'm now completely confused. Some websites claim it's indeed the 8th house person that is most affected, but others say it's really the moon person that can't help and be obsessed.

I'd be really grateful for anyone who has experienced this in synastry to share how it felt and who seemed more affected. Thanks so much!

I think it’s both but I think the Moon person feels it more. I’m the Moon person and it’s really intense for me. But their Pluto squares my Moon so that might add to it. I haven’t been alone with the person yet. We only see each other in public. But soon I’ll be alone with them and I’m afraid honestly. I’ve been avoiding it for awhile but I guess it’s time. It’s the way that he looks at me it’s intense. I didn’t really believe it when people would talk about how they could feel the energy between them and someone else. But now I understand it’s really heavy and as the Moon person it’s overwhelming. I feel like I want to hide but at the same time it’s hard to stay away. I don’t like to feel vulnerable and not in control and that’s what it feels like.

When I finish work I will reply more comprehensively, I have plenty of experience with this aspect. Being both house and moon.

What I will say is, Its a beautiful aspect. The moon really needs to touch the personal planets of the house person to really feel the benefit. It’s the most deeply, evocative emotional bond that literally comes out of nowhere - then you find yourselves swimming murkiest waters with only each other, not wanting to let go. Can be Disturbing, if you like that sort of thing. Maturity plays a massive part in this, as do the condition of the natals.

Yeah I agree with MarsSaturnDelight my Sun trines his Moon and my Moon makes a wide trine to his Sun which is also really nice.

I have this with someone - my moon is in his eighth house, and his natal moon is also in the eighth house - our moons are in the same sign and parallel.

His moon also conjuncts my NN and mars so there's a lot of deep moon connection happening. We have a curious relationship- we go deep fast on many levels and have frankly unparalleled levels of trust.

It's difficult to isolate the eighth house element as there's so much going on - but I know for sure it would feel different if all that stuff was happening in, say, his third house.

Incidentally, his moon falls into my 7th so effectively we get the emotional partnership (7th) combined with transformational depth (8th).

I forgot to mention that his Moon is in my 5th house so I guess it’s romantic for him. His Moon trines my Asc and squares my Venus.

Thank you to everyone who's already responded. I'd be particularly interested how the 8th house person feels as I'm the moon person.

I certainly have never felt so emotionally and physically drawn to anyone as to the 8th house person. Natally he has his mars and jupiter in his 8th house (my moon conjuncts his mars) and he is, in addition to having a scorpio moon, extremely plutonic. We have a lot of sexual aspects and I know he is sexually attracted to me (I know he wants to sleep with me, we've been physical with each other), but in terms of the emotional connection.... I have no idea how he is affected. Initially I was certain that he felt the connection just as much as I did, but he's made certain remarks which either mean there's nothing or he just wants to push me away (we live in different countries and he doesn't see the potential for a relationship under the circumstances, says he can't open himself up under those conditions)

What orb/sign is the mars/moon conjunction?

fairly wide at 6degrees, but I count it because my moon is also my ascendant ruler.

(we also have venus opposite mars, venus trine mars, and my sun, mercury and venus conjunct his ascendnat)

If he has planets in his 8th house natally he might be use to the energy. Some people say if a person has planets in their 8th house. Having someone else’s planets their might not be as intense I’m not sure though. I have a lot of planets in my 8th house so I don’t really feel it when someone’s planets are there. Unless the planet aspects my personal planets.

Honestly it sounds like he doesn’t want to get too close not knowing if something will really happen between the two of you. I can relate being an 8th house person. People who are Plutonic don’t tend to open up easily. Are you trying to have a long distance relationship? People with a lot of Uranus and Aquarius tend to be good with long distance relationships. But I’m not sure if it works well for those who are strictly Plutonic.

The Moon person feels it definately more.
I had this twice and it was them
We are talking about Aqua Moon
I have Saturn in my 8th H early Aqua but it didn't make any aspect to their Moon.

One of them had his Venus and Mars in my 8th H too opposing my Venus and Mars. They both wanted to get to know me but the one with Venus and Mars in my 8th H was kind of too obsessed too quickly, feeling like he trusted me since the first second and wanted to know everything about me and help me practically, financially, in whatever possible way and I indeed believe he meant it. For me though it happened too fast and he was very persistent. I need my time and all these happened in about two months. I liked chating with him and teasing him but I didn't feel anything sexual/sensual/emotional.

The other one believed I was special and wanted to get to know me but was more chill.

I have Pluto in Scorpio in 5th H square Venus, Mars and Jup. So you could say I'm Plutonian.

But I also have Uranus opposite ASC and Sun

Be careful though, I knew that I could take advantage of them if I wanted to.. I felt I had some kind of power over both of them as the 8th H person. The 8th H can read the planet person while the planet person seems to be the confused one seeing the 8th H person as someone mysterious that he can't wait to get to know (unless other aspects/placements indicate otherwise).

So how does the 8th house person feel? Are they not even a little obsessed as well?

I wouldnt mind a long distance relationship, but he doesn't. He says he can't open himself up emotionally with the distance and long breaks in between. But not sure if that's really true. When I sort of went on about it, suggesting as alternative an affair type arrangement, he again said, can't open himself up this way.

This. I am the 8th house person. My natal moon in libra is there too.

His moon in Scorpio falls there, loosely conjunct my Pluto in the 9th too.

I feel like I can read him so well. I know what he’s thinking, always. I think he views me as someone who’s pretty mysterious and someone he can’t quite figure out.

Currently we’re in two different states and only really connected once I’d moved away from him, yet things developed super quickly to an overly intense state given the circumstances.

I am insanely attracted to him though, physically and emotionally. We both feel extremely vulnerable with each other. I am obsessive about it too, but he would never know it. I’m always shutting down the communication because it really is too much to deal with at times. It’s just so consuming.

Sort answer to your question is the the Moon person acts out the dynamics of the 8th house. This I because the Moon is receptive and ‘feels’’, it’s our emotional feeling. Thus, ‘feels’ the 8th house.

The 8th house responds to the Moons reaction to being in the 8th house. Depending on the Moons projections, the house may like if and is more inclined to respond in kind. If not, then there could be a disconnect.

You have to remember that the 8th house can go either way, and I’m my experience being the house person (5 times) the moon very much disliked me, in a strong way too. They didn’t want to be around me, talked ill of me, didn’t really give me a chance; the last individual actually used the words ‘hated me’ and I tend to believe her.

However, once they got to know me and get closer, things changed quite dramatically. There is definitely a psychic, spiritual, emotional and sexual flavour here. The house does feel it, but I feel the moon lives it. It’s the moon that is challenged here. Intimacy with this aspect involved is pretty deep, if that’s your thing -nothing compares. Full exposure.

If the guy is telling you he doesn’t feel safe opening up under the circumstances. Then you already know how he feels.

Did the Moon person feel badly about you and didn’t want to be around you before or after you were sexually involved with them?

The moon always took a dislike to me from the start, and ended in attraction. I was only intimate with two of them
The other three I worked with, but It became really awkward as at this point I was in a committed relationship. They felt the need to express their feelings which I believe was an act of release, but never really recovered and unfortunately was sucked into the 8th house. Again, maturity is a big player here.

Yeah I don’t like being around the house person. I actually stopped going to were he works so I don’t have to see him. But I’ve decided to just have sex with him and get it over with. So I don’t have to think about it anymore. I think I’m going to cut contact afterwards.

Good luck with that!

If that’s your plan, don’t have sex....seriously.

It truly is impossible to walk away from once the connection has become physical, if this aspect is really strong.
