Topic: Why don't people ever mention Declinations in regards to synastry?

I am not a professional, just someone who study for fun. I think if it is relevant in the natal it is in synastry. There was a person who I dated, his Pluto trine my Asc by 1°52s. When we broke up he was displaying some obsession with me. In our declination, his Pluto parallel my Sun. It reinforce this obsession nature he had with me. He seem to get annoyed things I say, we dont have Mercury/Mars in the chart but we have Mars(him) contraparallel mercury (me). Declination seems to fill in the mystery and absent not found in the chart. Or reinforce if it's seen in the chart and declination. IP: Logged |

^ You’re quite right. I definitely feel my guy’s Saturn/Venus which are parallel my Sun. Recently I told him I felt criticised by him, especially of late. He explained that he actually thinks I’m smart and a great person etc but the words that came out of his mouth often sound like criticism to me. With his Venus there as well he often makes me feel beautiful.We don’t have Saturn-Sun aspect or Sun-Venus aspect otherwise, other than my Venus square his Sun. IP: Logged |

If it plays a fairly major role in the natal, then it likely plays a fairly major role in synastry (talking about declinations). I just haven't look at it much yet in synastric cases so far. However, I will say this, while I downplay Signs some in the natal (as compared to the majority of folks here), in Synastry, Signs are quite important. Hence, it's the interaction of the Signs more than the exact geometry of aspects between the Planets, etc that is often more felt and pertinent. If say a parallel between two planets takes place in Signs that are semi-sextile, while it's going to facilitate a connection stronger than the semi-sextile normally implies, I doubt it would be near as strong as if the Signs were in the same Sign AND also parallel, for example. Because we really do react a lot to the Sign/personality level of others quite a bit. We do to the Planets too of course, but that is a deeper, more Soul level, which in synastry tends to be a bit more subtle and background on average. Though, if you have two personalities that are becoming less and less personality attuned and more and more Soul and/or Expanded self attuned, then definitely look at the Planetary strengths and connections just as much as the relative Sign interaction. I have with someone in declination synastry
Moon 16°59’51” S
Moon 16°52’55” SSeems too specific to overlook but wouldn’t know how to interpret the exactness of degree [of something as fast and soul-defining as the moon] If anyone has a sense on how to interpret this (besides Moon “conjunct” Moon) please, do share. IP: Logged | |
