I can't say I relate to the traditional interpretations of hard Mars-Neptune aspects in synastry, i.e., deceitfulness and shadiness or even cheating. On the contrary, both of us desire commitment and we're pretty open about how we feel and what turns us on.

However, I do wonder if a hard Mars-Neptune aspect can ALSO represent both parties, but especially the Mars person, having no limits (dissolving boundaries is very Neptunian) on their sex drive/fantasies. Maybe some of Neptune's fantasies are a bit out of alignment with what Mars wants and/or is physically capable of performing?

And in terms of anger, because that's very Martian, I wonder if Neptune might be a bit too placating and pacifistic towards Mars and this can actually **** Mars off. Mars IS a warrior after all, so maybe Neptune refusing to put their dukes up (lol) just makes it even worse.

Cheated on me after three years -- which is typically forewarned for this particular composite aspect, as you already mentioned.

Nothing could have prepared me for it, considering we were deeply committed (living together and working alongside each other) two peas in one pod -- there is no 'on the contrary' actually. Neptune is Neptune, and like the wayward quincunx, the event came as an acting out, misbehavior, blindsighted, for what we had going - huge scandal. This martian composite aspect lingers, festers, under the surface, neither party can address or resolve it, try as they might, until impulse (directive) proves that there had always been, in spite of the imagined sensitive or “thoughtful” activity, an avoidant influence in orientation — guilt. The fact of this being a negative aspect after all. Maybe too much behavioral tolerance (micro-aggressions), the subconscious default becomes glossing-over for sake of sympathetic ideal.

As for sex, yeah, had the most open mindedness with him! Experimental yet soft, no serious business going about it. Sort of introduced whatever we wanted as we went along, intuited, quirky. I do miss how often we, as a couple, would take evening baths together, or go to german day spas. This was sweet.

I definitely don't like to see hard Mars-Neptune in composite, especially if either planet falls in the 7H or 8H. I find the trine and sextile to be easier to work with, but maybe that's also because I have Mars opposite Neptune and Moon trine Neptune in natal plus a 12H stellium.

The blindsided factor kind of reminds me of the rose colored glasses issue that can pop up with hard M-N. Did your composite chart also have a strong Uranus signature? What was going on with the ASC/DSC axis? Up to you if you want to disclose this or not.
