I think it’s healthy to question any visionary’s sanity. I can tell you that many of the things Linda said to me that I wrote off as paranoid delusion have come to pass in the most concrete ways over the past twenty years. As she tried to untangle the very real threads of her complex and tragic life, her own speculation sometimes turned to pure paranoia and sometimes revealed unbelievable truth. But she was willing to do the difficulty work of understanding. This modest housewife from West Virginia was a lot like you, on a spiritual quest. I see her teachings as reports from her journey of discovery, not the “Truth” of having arrived at the end of a journey. Much of what she writes in STAR SIGNS seems to me incomplete but ripe with the seeds of true revelation. She was fun, funny, witty, and often depressed, sad, worried, and agitated. Like all diabetics who go untreated, Linda had wide mood swings based on her blood sugar level. Linda’s diet was terrible. She could be impossible. Linda was extraordinarily bright, psychic, insightful, generous, compassionate and sometimes a little nutty. The great visionaries have always been willing to embrace the unbelievable; in Linda’s case the expanse of her embrace may have include some things that prove untrue. As someone posted earlier in this thread, Linda would be the first to encourage you to be skeptical and measure “truth” against your own heart’s knowing.

I think Mary Alice was fortunate to live where the air is good up in the mountains for so long, that must have helped. It's really beautiful up there, I can see why she stayed. I looked at some land up there, it's really reasonable. I don't think the recent fires in CO got up there.BB, Carlo IP: Logged |

Thanks for asking. I am an old friend of Linda's and a sometimes collaborator, assistant, and shoulder to cry on. Who Linda really was is far more inspiring than the myth she is becoming, so I thought I'd add my two cents to the history to keep her legacy from going all mushy. IP: Logged |

Linda was not crazy. She is not the only one in the universe to have thought of these star signs of truth. Just go to your metaphysical section of any bookstore and you will find so many books that say the exact same things, and some things that are different. It is up to you to decide what you will reject or adopt as your own truth. But really, you dont even need a book to tell you what you already know, so try to channel some of your own "crazy" wisdom, and see what you can make of it.IP: Logged |

Dr. Bombay, Welcome!! I particularly liked the way you expressed this--- quote: I see her teachings as reports from her journey of discovery, not the “Truth” of having arrived at the end of a journey.
Linda seemed to be a catalyst to spur others further along in their journey of spiritual seeking. Donna IP: Logged |

and we're all catalysts, one way or another...Hi Penny, welcome!!! Is Fitchburg snowy today? I lived in Worcester and Shrewsbury for a while, I like that area up north where you are Here's my take on just some of Linda's legacy... http://lovestarz.com/connect.html
http://lovestarz.com/maryalice.html I don't think Mary was noted really for her mushiness, yet yes, possibly the knowflakes are for ours...yet we also do know that Linda was a substantive and logical metaphysician, and her stress on research and empirical work will never truly be replaced, upstaged, nor really even softened, mitigated, nor ignored by the presence of our supreme and sometimes excited thrill with just having the body of her work on our nightstands or otherwise a finger's length away. I mean, it's not like we all lost because her works were burned, oh quite the opposite...we all have access to it, and online at that...why we can even score her manuscript of Star Signs on ebay these days. The Knowflakes are all down for Linda like that...we ain't really the sappy-ass fools we may appear from time to time to be well, maybe I am

When you believe in something, you do not need to defend it. I believe Linda was a spirit who was here to explore this reality. Her life purpose was to explore it, share what she was learning and help make others curious. I believe she achieved her life purposes and therefore, could move on to other realities. What I believe and what others believe doesn't have to be the same. We all go through stages and we all live in slightly different realities (I believe). ------------------ My job is to master my "responses" to external events......NOT to attempt to control them. Greetings...Ummm.. what is reality anyway? It is ALL a matter of percetion, CHOICE and co-creation. I think Linda's message was to open the mind, think out of the box and EXPLORE. Take what works for you and move on. In your discovery of certain Truths, there is a need or a responsibility to pass along what you learn, hopefully for the benefit of those who come along the Path "behind you". (and I use that term advisedly) The one thing to remember is there is a TRUTH, and then there is a truth. ALL of it comes to Earth through our filters, our experience and our accumulation of baggage... so what may be MY truth, may not mesh with what may be YOUR truth... but they are all an ASPECT of THE TRUTH. Did that last sentence even make sense? Pax et Bonum... A IP: Logged |

Hi Pen,I moved to Hollywood, CA shortly after 9/11, I drove! They have a short wimpy "rainy season" here, so I don't miss the snow at all. I hope you aren't getting too creamed this Winter over there, I heard there have been some doosies already Yes, so stick around here, take it from a Mass native that this is the place to chat about these things and not be thought of as crazy, or at least crazier than anyone else here Glad you found your way here Penny Bright Blessings, Carlo IP: Logged |

I'm not sure if i've already said this, but I've always felt a gentle sadness whenever I think of Linda. If she were still alive, I'd give her a big bear hug. And draw her a card. With a teddy in the corner, and a unicorn in the middle, with the words...eh...with the words "I believe in you" writen across in flashing letters. I really wish I could give that to her.
