Isn't it, "while the soul slumbers, God speaks to us in numbers?"

Sure is Marcia!

I also love this quote:

"If it was negative, it didn't happen---
except in the world of illusion"

-from Love Signs

Thorshammer, great minds think alike
Heres one Linda quoted in one of her books it was so beautiful, I've never forgotten it

Thanks be to God
The world is wide
And I am going far from home, and
I'll forget in Camelot
the man I loved in Rome

(Edna St Vincent Millay)

*,.~`+.but making me understand, at last, Gooober's words
he wrote in his note, so long ago

.....that love...is not always doing what brings pleasure
love is also doing what is good for someone
whatever the cost, at the moment

sometimes it's leaving...for awhile
and the love is shown, then, in the pain given

...for pain is a lesson
.......best learned
from the one who loves you most

.......~*.*.*.`*`.`*`.*.*.*~........

I'm not sure how accurate this quote is, as I didnt type it out from Sun Signs. I got it off the web from a site that has Sun Signs online and needs corrections. But anyway, I always loved this observation Linda made of the Taurean women. So true.

quote:
Men always appreciate her gracious tendency to take people as they are, without quibbling. She's as much at home with a scientist who studies tsetse flies in the Congo as with the sword swallower in the side show. They're doing what comes naturally; they're not phonies and that's what counts with her. Her close friends may be weird Matures straight out of the world of Toulouse-Lautrec, or they may be Norman Rockwell paintings come to life.

Indeed.

Funny, I was thinking about this thread today. Okay here's a good one. I just opened Star Signs and pointed, since everything Linda has said could be quoted.

"Your so-called daydreams are urgings from your own Supraconscious, not merely "wishes" to be briefly enjoyed, then wistfully forgotten. These images originate from the wise Angel of your Higher Self, who repededly urges you, by seeding into your mind a picture of what you were born to do, to take your destined place in the jigsaw puzzle of Life."
-Star Signs pg. 22-23

How appropriate for me ATM. Thank you Linda!

26Taurus, were those pages in the hard cover or soft? wonderful and they remind me of this saying in the preface, if kind of reminds me of everyone here, were all one big happy family, by coincidence or not:

Often, the initial manifestation of your quest is a series of strange "coincidences" which are not coincidental at all....leading you to certain books written about a variety of metaphysical subjects. You can be led to such esoteric works in several ways. Sometimes through a chance remark from friends...often through your own seemingly aimless but subconsciously purposeful browsing. You'll soon learn to judge yourself whether a book's contents are misleading or wise by listening to the VOICE of your own Higher Self, whispering into your innner ear. You'll learn to feel the messages in a short while. some books ypu may reject, and others you will inwardly know are teaching a facet of universal truth you can accept.

Now if thats not true, I dont know what is! And in here, all the universal truth swimming around. wonderful.

HOLY Shi-OOP! I just picked up Star Signs again for a message. Opened and pointed to this (bolded): (how come I dont ever remember reading this before? ...)

"As I wrote earlier, Lexigrams of words, names or phrases can be silly, serious, sacred or sublime.......To demonstrate a silly one, here are a couple of lines from a verse in one of my poetry books: "What freaky creatures we are...to speak a language in which rats spelled backwards is star."

My name spelled backwards is A RAT. And in Sanskrit Tara means star. Is it just me or is that......'freaky'?

Star Signs pg. 474 ~ Lexigrams.

Thorshammer,
It's from the soft cover. What a great quote. I just posted in another thread that, "books pick you not the other way around." Very cool. So true. I can pick up a book and k-NOW almost immediately if I 'need' it or not. It's sort of like "k-NOWing" a book by it's cover. Also just scanning the bookshelves, certain ones will 'pop' out at you.

Thanks for sharing.

Another "random" Linda quote:

"only that I've lost my mind, that's all
just that - nothing more
you'll have to visit me at the funny house
as soon as I've been assigned a room and a shrink"

Randaaaallll.... lol

Okay here's another fabulous Gooberz quote: (page 870)

*****************************************
"a sense of humor, my dear Pilgrim
is a precious gift indeed - for it is synonymous
with a tuned-in intellect, and a highly evolved mind
as well as with spiritual profundity

know that there can be no wisdom where there is no humor
and, while all those with humor do not contain wisdom
they possess the initial sparks
conversely, all those with wisdom do not possess humor

for, there can be no wisdom where there is no humor
and no healing laughter
a sense of the ridiculous is a necessity for enlightenment
which is why Buddha chuckles

it would behoove you to always keep in mind
to beware of a man or a woman
who is unable to laugh at himself - or at herself
or at the entire Universal pattern of existence
for humor, you see, has as its foundation
a true and deep perception
of both the human and the galactic condition
revealing the person who possesses it
to also possess infinite compassion
and above all - a sense of perfect balance"

******************************************

LOVE IT! Osho says something similar. Such truth in that quote.

Live, Love and Laugh.
