Just to let you all know...I will likely be pretty scarce for the rest of the month. I will be at the Nobel Peace Prize Forum and Delegate Dinner this weekend. Jimmy Carter is one of the keynote speakers today! By the way, did you know Jimmy Carter was a goober farmer in Georgia before he became our thirty-ninth president?

After the Nobel Peace Prize Conference concludes, my son and I are flying back to Hawaii until the end of March. The River of Stars astrology conference in Pahoa, Hawaii is next weekend. With my brood in tow, I hope we don't end up crashing the party. I wouldn't want to knock anyone's chakras out of alignment with our semi-organized chaos.

Lucky you! I would like to plan a trip to Georgia sometime soon. Mr. Howard, one of my advisers, was recently in Georgia. In Stockbridge, if I recall.

Quoting a portion of an article by Sherna Noah dated March 31st, 2015...

The title of the article is Paul McCartney finds inspiration in the toilet when he's struggling to finish a song

quote:

McCartney also revealed that he now believes in Star Signs and that he attributes his songwriting talents to the fact that he is a Gemini.

"There are two sides to Gemini. And if you listen to my stuff there are two sides to some of it - Ebony and Ivory, Hello Goodbye...so I never used to believe all this, but now I'm thinking 'Maybe there's something in it'."

He said: "I've never been into the zodiac before.... but just recently I've started to think about this wheel of life, and how, at certain points in the year, people get thrown off... and are born."

The weather turned cooler in the Twin Cities too. April here started off in the 70's and sunny. Today it's much cooler, in the low 50's and overcast.

I hope you had a Happy Easter even if it was chilly.
Did you have deviled eggs?
I can't help myself from contemplating the tradition of preparing deviled eggs for Easter...why not egg salad sand-witches?

We had an egg dying contest...

Of course, Humpty Dumpty won the egg dying contest. (Again.)

It's too bad there isn't an Academy Award for egg dying.

Don't worry. All the King's horses and all the King's men put Humpty Dumpty back together again. Quite theatrical.

Just a city boy, born and raised in South Detroit (see Detroit Red Wings sticker on Paul's guitar)
He took the midnight train goin' anywhere...

A singer in a smoky room,
the smell of wine and cheap perfume
For a smile they can share the night
It goes on and on and on and on...

Strangers, waiting, up and down the Boulevard
Their shadows searching in the night
STREETLIGHT PEOPLE, living just to find emotion
Hiding, somewhere in the night

Working hard to get my fill,
everybody wants a thrill
Payin' anything to roll the dice,
Just one more time
Some will win, some will lose
Some were Born to sing the Blues
Oh, the movie never ends
It goes on and on and on and on

It is pretty good. And on the fun side! I really like photography and fashion.

Here's a picture I took of my son in his Stella McCartney Sgt. Pepper's vest...

It was an extremely windy day, so his hair is a mess. I took the picture last year when we went to see Paul McCartney in Fargo, North Dakota.

FIRST 4-WAY TRAFFIC SIGNAL...

quote:

William L. Potts of the DETROIT POLICE Department is generally credited as the originator of the "red-yellow-green" traffic signal as we know today.

An expert in communications and electrical gadgetry, his 4-way directional signal was first installed in October of 1920 at the intersection of Woodward Ave. and Fort St. Although Potts' achievement seems to not have been recognized at the time, a United States Court decision in 1928 established that he was, indeed, the inventor of the first 4-way, three-color signal. His signal, built of wood with a metal shell, used 4 inch railroad lantern-style lenses.
