Still an incense type smell. This time maybe something close to sandalwood.

I wonder why I keep smelling incense around you. Maybe I'm picking up something from a past life...like maybe you were a monk or something

Interesting. My first impression when I read this yesterday was of sandalwood - kind of, maybe a bit sweeter.

This reminds me of the dream with the little statues and the flame.

YIVY~ I wonder if your ability to sense scents attached to different individuals is some sort of psychic barometer of an individuals emotional, or subconscious state? And how would we interpret meanings or energies of the different scents as it would apply here?

Do we have some scent experts in the house?

If you haven't already, I think it might be interesting to start keeping a record, or journal ... start comparing this scent with that person, mood, etc., and see what you come up with

OSheen~ How and in what way are you feeling different now (if you are) than when YIVY could sense the orange/cedar scent about you? I wonder what change in you changed YIVY'S perception to Sandalwood ? (OMG Sandalwood is awesome )

wOw.

First, I have to address the dream issue. Virgo is right, I think, that the smell is somehow linked to the little statue... and Kaileah is right in asking what the difference is between then and now I believe. As Ra mentioned in another post, I am likely going through the issues of the dream now.

The difference between then and now is that I have begun to face the dark side of myself. In that way the dream was quite literal. I think this came about because of a man that I see as a mirror to myself (we are almost identical in many ways) and I have observed some darker aspects to him come about. In the past, I think I have been afraid to do that, to let go. Perhaps some repressions are starting to float up?

I have been using some patchoulli incense lately .... although I made some fresh potpouri from oranges and I wore that in my necklace.

I too have smelled sandlewood.

Oh, and Ra .... I often wear Opium perfume
which is sometimes too heavy for mere mortals ....

Caileah~~I do know that from my own clairaudience that people have a SOUND ... and sometimes people sound lick a real high pitched 'screech', or soft chimes, or little bells, etc. so I imagine they would smell too. YIVY could probably tell us more.

Ra, Ra has a nose too????? Who knew?

Thanks Guys!!!!

OSheen~ I wear Opium too - in winter And Patchouli ...sigh...

From the information below, it sounds like Sandalwood and Patchouli scents are most excellent for you right now, OSheen

Sandalwood:

Sandalwood oil soothes emotions that are exhausted from a hectic lifestyle. It relaxes the body and mind, and relieves stress, elevates spirits and lifts depression. Sandalwood oil also subdues aggression and irritability. It helps to relieve confusion, fear and nervousness. Sandalwood oil promotes compassion, openness and understanding. It can help an introverted person to become more sociable and outgoing. Sandalwood stimulates the senses and clears thought processes. During times of emotional turmoil, sandalwood oil strengthens resolve and is stabilizing. As an aphrodisiac, sandalwood oil helps overcome frigidity and impotence.

Patchouli:

Patchouli oil diminishes depression and eases anxiety. It helps recovery from nervous exhaustion, stress and stress-related conditions. It reduces mental fatigue and banishes lethargy. In low doses, it acts as a sedative, while in larger quantities it is stimulating. It can sharpen intelligence, improve concentration and provide insight. It cools and calms during physically or emotionally hot situations. It is a stabilizing and balancing oil with aphrodisiac attributes that can heighten libido.

wOw. Interesting, especially considering the part about aggression. I am not very good at expressing my anger because I am afraid of my anger. It can be rather intense. However, seeing this intensity in another person has caused me to look at all of the ways I stuff it down and how rigid it has really made me. Thanks Caileah!

Osheen...can you 'hear' sounds at a distance or does the person have to be standing near you? I was just wondering what I sound like to you.

Ra...maybe when you finally awaken one sense (spiritually wise) they are wake up soon or later.

I was wonder what you might 'smell' around me. All I can smell is dirt. But then again I've enlarged my herb garden and been grubbing in the dirt...hauling rocks, etc. It's only about 1/4 done as I keep changing my mind and adding new things and rearranging the mini plots here and there <sigh>

The plants think I have gone nuts as I have dug them up and heeled them in dirt. But then again they always wonder what I'm up to
But they are getting a bit excited about the new living quarters.

OK... I think you are rubbing off on my YIVY

Today after chatting with Jools, I could smell *sage* ... when I later mentioned that to her she told me that at the very same time she was preparing her dinner of *sage* sausage So, am I smelling her dinner? or?

...Now I need to know, what are the metaphysical properties of sage?

SAGE-Masculine, ruled by Jupiter. Element AIR.
POWERS-Immortality, Longevity, Wisdom, Protection, Wishes....

MAGICAL USES-Sage has been utilized to ensure a long life-sometimes even immortality. This is done by eating some of the plant every day, or at least in May, for:

'he who would live for eye
must eat sage in May'

Sage is carried to promote wisdom, and the leaves are used in countless healing and money spells.

To guard yourself against contracting the dreaded evil eye wear a small horn filled with sage.

There are a few curious gardening tips concerning sage: first, it is bad luck to plant sage in your own garden; a stranger should be found to do the work. Second, a full bed of sage brings ill luck, so ensure that some other plant shares the plot Incidentally, toads love sage.

If you desire to make a wish come true, write it on a sage leaf and hide it beneath your pillow. For three nights sleep upon it. If once you dream of what you desire your wish will be materialized; if not, bury the sage in the ground so that you do not come to harm.

Ra~ It was quite apparent to me I was *smelling it* LOL ... I don't have any sage around the house, or the gardens, no windows were open for it to have wafted into the room from another garden ... so I want to know *how and/or why* I smelled it

Cool Caileah You've discovered your sense is stronger than you thought ....

I bought some opium, cedar, and orange incense. Man, it took me forever to find the orange.

Ever notice when we are around someone we don't like, we instictively wrinkle our noses even through there is no perceptible odor. Do we perhaps 'smell' their auras?

"AAAHHHHH....smells like LOVE is in the air!"

We already know that smell is the most important trigger for memory. But have we underestimated it as and esp sense? Perhaps if we worked on it the same as telepathy or clairvoince, we would smell some amazing things.
