Dear Friends of Lindaland...I wanted to post this because I think it's very important... I saw a topic with Babaji and Sai Baba, there, Amethyst posted some links, the three of them are pretty good, but...the ones related to Babaji are not exactly of the inmortal master. Babaji is a common name among Hindu monks and teachers..., and the Babaji of the links seems to be a really wonderful person, but he is not the great Mahavatar Babaji Maharaj, the Inmortal One... Babaji Maharaj (as He is called by His devotees) is living now in the Himalayas teaching lots of things there, there aren't any photographs of Him, but there exist some paintings... It's not easy to find Him, He's not a public master, of course sometimes the Lord bless some persons with a Gaze of Babaji... Here is a link of this awesome "person"... http://www.babaji.ca/english/babaji.html IP: Logged |

enrique, thank you very much for the information. Mahavatar Babaji Maharaj's portrait shows that indefinable mien that can only belong to One Of A Stature Such As His. Nagaraj = king of the serpent wisdom (God-Truth union and Self-Realization)

such a topic should not go to waste so i'll camp out here for the time being, make use of the space and share mystic prose by and readings about some of the world's greatest spiritual teachers and exemplars. ... for selfish reasons: it'll be very 'centering' for me. Poem by Kabir There's a moon in my body, but I can't see it! A moon and a sun. A drum never touched by hands, beating, and I can't hear it! As long as a human being worries about when he will die, and what he has that is his, all of his works are zero. When affection for the I-creature and what it owns is dead, then the work of the Teacher is over. The purpose of labor is to learn; when you know it, the labor is over. The apple blossom exists to create fruit; when that comes, the petal falls. The musk is inside the deer, but the deer does not look for it: it wanders around looking for grass. IP: Logged |

ah, enrique...the eastern mystic path is not for many. the mind and body, accustomed to the ways of the world, rebel and find it hard to adjust to the rigors and discipline necessitated by the path. the mind wants to think, the mouth wants to talk, the body wants to move... when the very thing that is required of them is to be still. but then, man is such a being beloved by the Masters. for upon his head can be bestowed... grace.

THE SPIRIT OF THE SAINTS by RumiThere is a Water that flows down from Heaven To cleanse the world of sin by grace Divine. At last, its whole stock spent, its virtue gone. Dark with pollution not its own, it speeds Back to the Fountain of all purities; Whence, freshly bathed, earthward it sweeps again, Trailing a robe of glory bright and pure. This Water is the Spirit of the Saints, Which ever sheds, until itself is beggared, God's balm on the sick soul; and then returns To Him who made the purest light of Heaven. isn't it beautiful? enrique, what is it that draws you to this path...? Swami Vivekananda's view on other religions:"...Fifty years do not pass before there are twenty sects founded upon the same book. I bring these facts before you in order to show that any attempt to bring all humanity to one method of thinking in spiritual things has been a failure and will always be a failure. You cannot make all conform to the same ideas. That is a fact and I thank God that it is so. I am glad that sect exists. If you and I and all who are present here, were to think exactly the same thoughts, there would be no thoughts for us to think. We know that two or more forces must come into colision, in order to produce motion. It is the clash of thought, the differentiation of thought, that awakes thought. Whirls and eddies occur only in a rushing, living stream. There are no whirlpools in stagnant, dead water. When religions are dead, there will be no more sects. It will be the perfect peace and harmony of the grave..." he was born Narendranath and he grew up to be an expert musician. Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, the saint of Dakshineshwar was a lover of songs. when they met, Narendranath was asked to sing a few sweet songs. thrill after thrill ran through the body of the sage until he was thrown into ecstasy. on coming down from that state of consciousness, the saint asked narendranath to sit next to him and to come visit him in dakshineshwar. when narendranth finally did, again he was asked to sing and Sri Ramakrishna was once again thrown into samadhi. the saint asked Narendranath to sit near him again and examined his chest, neck, eyes, face and palms. "do yousee a light, a jyoti when about to fall aleep?" Sri Ramakrishna asked. Narendranath, who had this experience since childhood had never attached any special significance to this event so he couldn't imagine that it was an experience peculiar to only him. "doesn't everybody?" he countered. Sri Ramakrishna gravely told him that it is only the 'jnanasiddhas' who got this experience. IP: Logged |

why here? oh, i don't know enrique. tis not a prose-poem so it did occur to me that this post could belong elsewhere... but twas a thought of the briefest second so it went here. (as a result, i did some editing on my second post) where do you think it should go?actually, it was a choice between posting that and this: "I am a servant of the servant of Buddha." (Swami Vivekananda was visited by Buddha as a child) "Had I been living in the days of Christ, i would've washed his feet not with tears but with my heart's blood." (this was told to an American friend). hey, i translated a story into spanish as a class project... but that was a long time ago...in college. i'd like to study it again, though. hi, randall.

Dear Taj...Hehehe, I think my question it's not Why in this forum? My question is why in Lindaland? Of course is not a bad thing to write it here, in this place, and in this string called Babaji...(it's the best title to a string were we can share beautiful things of the Path of Self-Realization). What I mean..., is that..., well..., the eastern path...is different from Lindalind, although Linda teach lots of things as the teaching of the Gurus..., Linda, was not exactly a Guru...do you understand me? Why in this place? Why in Lindaland? Here it is a very good place..., but... IP: Logged |

oh enrique, whyever not?what is that 'but' for...? ok, repeat... my posts here are for selfish reasons. it makes me HAPPY to talk about it. i don't do it for anything else save that...and the fact that i need to be reminded by their words every now and then because in a world of chaos, calm is soon forgotten. i don't expect anybody to respond... i just want to talk about something that's wonderful. if somebody happens to stumble upon this string and gets to know about the Masters of this path, then... would that not be lovely? besides, Love, as the Masters know, teach and live it, does not choose where it wants to go or dwell in. Dear Taj...I'm sorry for having questioned your posts..., but believe me..., I had no bad intention, it's just that, sometimes I wonder why persons do some things. I'm very happy that you're posting all of these beautiful poems and stories about the Masters... There's nothing wrong with Lindaland, I did that question because it's is quite rare and great that someone poste about that beautiful eastern path. +BE FIGHT+ IP: Logged |
