Over the years to come, what will happen to immortals that have to pretend they're missing? It's nearly impossible to get by in this world, without an I.D, Social Security, and a Passport, how will you overcome this deadlock? How do you come by a fake I.D, Social Security, and Passport?

Gosh, it seems to me, once Immortality is realized and obtained, overcoming phisical death....the Gov't and thier limitations, won't be much match.

Well, that is my hopes. I'll work on the immortality first, then I will have plenty of time to work on the antiquated systems that do not allow for it.

Peace,
Matty

That site is sooo cool Randall!
I now know what to get a dear friend for her next birthday...she has long mused on how to disappear in America!

I doubt she'll do it...but she'll love the book! Thanks!

If not, the books will probably still be available.

Wow! It's actually quite exciting!

Although for some reason I keep thinking it can't possibly be that simple to 'fake' an I.D...

Sorry to be so blunt, but I think everyone's kinda missing the point. Why would you want to hide your immortality? Is it a secret? Even if I was 65 and looked as I am at 22 (I'm currently 25 but am staying 22) and peopled told me I'm lying, I'd be like, "here's my documented life with photos and report cards, etc., leave me alone". If they were like "What, you can't be that old", I'd be like "who are you to say I can't?" You get my point. Immortality should be advertised. We're not in the dark ages where immortals were treated like witches and executed. There are many people out there who try to claim products for imortality, etc. I think it'd be awesome to just live with the philosophy that there's no time or reason to age. People who think otherwise can take a walk.

Hi, bauschd.

I agree with you in that why hide it at all? But then again, in typical Libran fashion I want to say, "Why not use the tools we have available to make our lives easier in certain ways?"

The question of ID is a simple one, and Randall has answered it more than once here at Oranges & Hyacinths already. Since discovering our inherent physical immortality is a personal journey, I do want to show my support for anyone who wishes to learn more of this.

I'm personally very interested to see what will happen in the next eighty years regarding identification. Thanks to computers and the internet, the very idea of having to honestly change identities at all is a new one. Before, it was enough to drift from here to there, and it becomes a non-issue.

A non-issue. Therein really lies the key

But like, I think it'd be so cool to PROVE that you really are 60 when you look so much younger. If people ask for your age and you don't wish to waste the time going through it all, then just don't answer, but if it's all above board, and someone needs your date of birth, then I would at all costs give the correct date. I would not lie to justify their ignorance! I would prefer to rub the fact in their face. "PROVE that I'm not 60!" I just don't want any of us to be ashamed of our age just because we understand it better...

Actually, I had to add another thing. Linda stated a few times ages that ranged from 200 to over 600. I really believed her when I thought she was over 600, I thought "why not? It's just age" but then she dies, and everyone says she was born last century and I was confused. I honestly thought she never lied. I sort of realised later that it doesn't matter. She just wanted us to know the truth. I don't know if she has really died or has simply finished what she wanted to do as Linda and has moved one, in either case I'm filled with a balance of understanding and confusion

I can't help but agree with bauschd in a way: hiding your age when you're 200 doesn't really help spread awareness about immortality.

I know it has to be a personal discovery that comes from within, but then again, most of us learned about it from Linda's Star Signs. And she spoke about being honest about it and talking about it to as many people as possible. And then in another paragraph she speaks about immortal gurus hiding their true identity and age. Hmmm, maybe I'm missing something here, it's true that I haven't read Star Signs for a while...

Proving how young or old you are is kinda cool. It is a blast to show that you are 6x older and look 10x younger! I also know of a nifty party trick involving orange kangaroos from denmark.

Imagine that today you turned 2003 years old. Really wrap your mind around this. Realize that there comes a point when certain ideas become more important and certain ideas become absolutely trivial.

You decide to celebrate with a few friends, so you goto the store to buy your alcoholic beverage of choice. You are carded. How old does your ID say you are?

As soon as you leave the store, a stranger hailing a taxi complains about arthritis in his legs. He says, "But you probably don't know about it at your age. How old are you, anyway?" At 2003 years of age, what answer is most important for you to give? Why?

It be great to have people understand that you're immortal when you're 100 years old and you still look like you're 20.

But when you go back down to earth, and you show them your 100 year old I.D. And they look at you, and you look back at them, and they go crazy ballistic, it will be no one elses fault but yours.

Trust me when people don't want to believe, denial kicks in, and they will never believe. They will go out of their way to prove your I.D has an error on it, or they will think you were joking with a fake I.D, and put you in jail for it. I don't want to be the person who has to explain my immortality, in a passport stand, while 5 other angry people are behind me.

It would be great to go out in public and tell people they don't have to die. But the reality check is, no one will listen to you, authors write books about immortality but the people that care to buy them are already immortal. Linda was smart becuase she placed immortality inside an astrology book.

So you go outside and decide to handout flyers about an immortality convention. A man comes out to you and goes, "Hey my wife just died, and I think you should go to hell for being so stupid." Then a large group of immortals decides to go to a bunch of scientists, and lay down the truth for them. But that won't happen, becuase a government secret agent will come in, and attack you by the dozen. The media won't care becuase it's not sophisticated reasoning for them.

The point is, this is not the right era, you cannot go parading around with a sign on your back that says your immortal. It's just not the right time. You cannot possibly reason with Big Brother's I.Ds, especially when it hinders around everything. Too many people are involved, and a lot of people will be trapped inside the system.

What I was trying to mean, is if the identification process gets even worse. Then it would be much wiser, to talk to people on your side of the issue, and plan for an alternate identification and a new life to live. I just don't see this as the right time, but when it's finally over, then you can parade around with a sign on your back saying "I'm immortal." There is a place for everything, right now, immortality does not have it's place.

It's not the right ERA.

I agree with you StarLover.
Has anyone seen that movie called Phenomenon with John Travolta and Forrest Whitaker?
Watch that movie if you haven't already seen it.
And actually I knew this lady; she used to be a friend of mine and she claimed to be born in the mid 1800's and she had like six different ID's all with different ages on them, and she did have this strange way about her. I hadn't read Star Signs or Gooberz at the time so I didn't think to ask really intimate details about the immortality.
I believed her though but I didn't want to ask too many questions because the whole thing kind of freaked me out.

There is no problem telling normal people like you and me. It's just that when it comes to the airport, RMV, and doctor, it would be wiser to fake your I.D.

OK, fine, I give up. Your reasoning is too strong for me to argue. I guess when it gets down to it, age is meaningless so who cares if you are imortal? If someone was curious then I guess you could tell them the truth, but I guess only if they were ready. I personally tried to do the white meat/no dairy diet. I was going strong for almost three years when I was at a BBQ and there was no alternative than red meat. I just realised that it wasn't bad to eat it, and so started again. I kind of regret this as I believe white meat is really good for you, but I just wasn't eating any fruit or many vegetables, so I think I was doing the "diet" wrong anyway. I just believe age is meaningless and I think this philosophy is the most important to leading a happy stress free life.

No worries, bausch. Think of it this way .. we all want to share the giant mountain of immortality. But if we share the whole mountain, well, we'll crush the living snot out of em. But if we share one pebble at a time .......
