The character in "Gattica" portrayed by Ethan Hawke has the same first and last name as I do ... interestingly enough (chuckles mischeviously). Therefore I feel fully qualified to speak in length about that movie (I do love movies), even though I really haven't seen the whole thing. (It seems that the requirements to talk fully about movies are getting less and less, eh?)The genetically imperfect Ethan Hawke turns to his genetically perfect brother while they try to swim a great channel. "Do you want to know how I made it to the other side and you couldn't? Because I didn't save anything for the trip back." Now, that's a profound statement, and I'm sure I could tie in the secrets of immortality into it. But it would be a long and pretentious trip, and I'm just not good at pretention. So, I'll offer a random question. We always ask questions like, "Why am I? What am I? How am I? Where am I? Who am I?" Try answering this question. "When am I?" See where it takes you. ------------------ "The reason why birds can fly and man cannot is simply that they have perfect faith; for to have faith is to have wings." ~JM Barrie IP: Logged |

I constantly think that proof is pointless. Note it contains the words poor and poof... and roof I think it is something that is completely unatainable due to Eistein and Heisenberg:1. Everything is relative and hence your proof is only what that is to you. An example is that if scientists come up with the gene that stops imortality, then would you honestly let them switch it off? To enter your dna and go crazy? 2. Heisenberg;s uncertainty principle, while openly concerned with particles, I feel also aplies to "facts". The more you know about immortality, the less you will about how to attain it - the details will increase in complexity exponentially. Hence I fell people like yogis or gurus are the ones only really capable of teaching immortality or esoteric things due to there understanding of questions/answers. I believe they alone could truly question the universe and view its answer simultaneously, but then I also question how much they live... To me, life is an oftentimes joyous thing with many secrets around every corner, and more than enough unanswerable questions, or unquestionable answers Just my two cents, Dean. ------------------ Love and Light to aLL My numerology program according to "Star Signs" by LG.
