nuh-uh what about Botticelli's Birth of
venus and other such artwork. I heard also that heaviness was equated with wealthiness, once upon a time.

? i was watching inherit the wind last night (1960 spencer tracy) and the fatter people looked just as old as the thinner ones of similar age...in the OLD old days people of 28 were much closer to average death age and they showed it, i think. though some really fat people are spared the lines of thinner ones, fat in itself is a sign of internal age, and lack of metabolization of fats etc...

I think the most comfortable age for one changes over one's lifespan... Also, living in the same town all one's life would not be a very wise option, hehehe... Unless you live in a real-life equivalent to LL?

As a side note, it is also amazing what people would believe if you sound confident enough. I tell everyone that youthfulness just runs in my family and both my mother and grandmother look much younger than their real age. Most people's minds are programmed to 'see' signs of supposedly 'real' age. If you tell them you have a Ph.D., they do the math and find an age range that seems 'logical'...

I've seen high school pictures of people from the '40s or '50s and it's amazing how much older they looked. Many of them looked like pinched and stiff middle aged people. Was it the repressive attitudes, the style of dress and hair? All the above? I would hate to have been young then.

What gets at me is when people expect one to ‘behave’ a certain way when you’re a certain age. I say bleh to that!

Playing with legos and kiddy movies are fun! Dispite what age your age is.
I don’t see anything wrong with eating cereal any time of the day or night either
So what if wrestling is staged I still watch it anyways
I didn’t know there was a rule stating that one can’t have dessert before dinner
Etc etc….. well those are but a few examples of things I do that make people say, “ Grow up!”

But why?
If you don’t like it don’t watch me do it

Bubble soap!!
I love a good bubble bath!!

Okay, so my youngest is 10 and he gets mad at me when I put bubbles in his tub. He tells me he's too old for bubble baths

Now I could blend right in with the teenie boppers. The best time I had as a kid was when I was about 17 and had my bff and our gay guy friend overnight. We went to the store and bought up candy & soda galore, got pizza and stayed up late watching movies till our bellies hurt too much from the crap we ate lol.

ahhhh memories... shopping spree anyone?

@MAK - actually working out of doors seems to be key to longevity in this "normal" earth life...sunshine is good for us obviously NOT overdoing it...as is being in a natural environment. i think mindset had as much to do with people aging faster then. they expected to die at 3 score+ 10, they went to work at an earlier age AND had more responsibilities in many ways..my own mother developed a "terminal" illness just months after her 70th birthday...when she considered she was living on "borrowed" time!

@LEXX too true never too old for bubbles, especially the airy kind!! tho i haven't had a tub worth making bubblebath in for years, cali is so water conscious!!

In the so called middle ages, twenty years old would have been middle - aged. in them days, they lived to not much past forty. They also married at 12/13 years old because of this.
