Had to go find this. It was on page 3 at the bottom of the forum.

Just thought it might be interesting to the 'new' members.

I'm a Snake

Can someone tell me what element a 1953 Snake is born under, and what it means?

Randall~ interesting stuff about the year of the Metal Snake! Thank you

1953 would make you a WATER SNAKE.
That might explain all those 'truth tears'

Hope you are a nice water snake just gliding along minding your own business...looking for an occasional frog..and not a MOCCASIN out to 'bite' anyone that messes with you

Hmm, a bit revealing about one's age this thread...

They killed a lot of baby girls in China the year I was born, Fire Horses being considered as bad news, rebellious women...

Auriel, privately e-mail me your year of birth, and I'll tell you what you are. It gets very interesting when your Inner Companion (based upon time of birth) is incompatible with the Chinese Sign itself.

Raines, in what year was your boyfriend born. My version of Chinese astrology doesn't use the sheep.

Auriel, you are a Fire Horse. That explains a lot! Next year (after February 12th) is a Water Horse year. You will fare very well next year. Water allows you to release your innate creativity, put action to your nervous energy, and to communicate even better than you normally do. Your attention span will be shorter than usual, though. I have a lot to say about the Horse, and I think you fit it to a "T," so I will write lots more later.

Thanks Randall--I think! Hey, what's the difference between a Fire Horse and a Water Horse? I mean I know what the elements are but how do I go from one to the other?

You don't go from one to the other. You're a Fire Horse, so you will fare exceptionally well in all Horse years, but you are affected by the element of that year.

The Inner Companion is also very important. My research of Chinese astrology has shown me that the main thing it does well is to show compatability between two people. Two animals that are enemies can actually get along quite well IF their Animal Companions are compatible.

Horses are a mixture of many different parts of Sun Sign astrology. Threy are some of the most interesting people you can ever meet. They have an almost contagious enthusiasm for Life. They are usually happy (unless tied down), very independent in that they like to roam free (yet prefer to be with another as much as possible), and they will attract lots of loyal friends. Horses Love to talk. As a matter of fact, I have found that talking is their favorite pastime! Ultimately, though the Love their freedom, if you examine them more closely, you will see that they require support and encouragement from others, so this is symbolic of the dualtiy of their dichotomous natures. Their zest for Life reMINDs me of a line in an Elton John song called The One: "Like freedom feels where wild horses run." The only major negative quality is that Horses let their emotions get them carried away at times. Fire Horses are especially bad in this regard. To others, Horses appear to be totally confident, self-assured, and even completely fearless, but deep down inside, they are fragile and sometimes even weak creatures. They hide this well, anmd I havefound that Horses often marry into royalty, politics, or money so that they can have the Protection it confers. Horses usually attract the wealthiest members of society. They rationalize Love as follows: "Hey, if you're going to fall in Love, you might as well fall in Love with a rich man/woman!" In fact, their magnetic personalities often have suitors lining up! The Horse is a Fire animal. You are double Fire! That makes you dynamic, but it also makes you temperamental. The lack of Fire in your natal chart helps to balance this out. Each animal is either Yin or Yang. The Horse is Yang. I'm going to edit this and add more, because I don't want to lose this information if AOL screws up. Back in a sec.

I'm back! Did you miss me? Horses have Egos. Perhaps, that is an understatement. Horses have LARGE Egos! The slightest criticism can hurt them, because their Egos are vulnerable. Their Karmic Lesson is to balance their need for approval with faith in themselves. Only then can they make full use of their remarkable powers for success. Their Season is Summer, and they prosper best in hot, sunny climates. They are generally late, do not like authority, enjoy dramatic scenes, and crave flattery and attention. The best way to describe their looks is "elegant." Needless to say, they are very well-groomed and refined. Horses require home in order to mend their fragile Egos, but surprisingly, they are not great home lovers. They would much rather spend time at others' homes instead! Nevertheless, a stable (pun intended) home base is very important to the Horse. The home of a Horse will be clean but untidy. They are not fond of housework. Decorations in a Horse home are unlikely to be particularly creative or imaginative. They are likely to decorate with things of sentimental value rather than monetary value. Horse people are fast-thinking and fast-talking. They are the greatest communicators in the Chinese zodiac. They need a job with variety that can take advantage of their versatile natures. Horses are great to have at brainstorming sessions, but don't expect them to carry out the ideas! They are not particularly fond of hard work. They are not lazy creatures, but they prefer to work smarter not harder. Physical labor does not appeal to them. They can initiate projects of a highly creative nature, but don't expect them to finish them! They make great bosses, as they inspire self-confidence in others. They Love meeting new people, making people laugh, discussing their emotions, eating at fine restaurants, and most of them enjoy dancing. They dislike schedules and timetables, BEing told what to do, boredom, and uncommunicative people who can't fathom what they are saying. They are better talkers than listeners (although many will never admit that). They do not like disapproval, and they despise bureaucrats. They DO NOT like BEing told what to do! They will often do the opposite just out of spite and can get in trouble this way. They have a "leap before you look" mentality at times. LOL They are the most compatible with the Tiger, Goat, Dog, and Rooster. They should avoid the Rabbit, Rat, and Monkey. Of course, the Inner Companion is mainly concerned with compatability and can override this or amplify it. Horses Love to be in Love. They can fall in Love at first sight, and many fall in Love over the Net. Good communication skills are a MUST if you want to win a Horses Heart for the long haul (pun intended), though. Actually, they are more in Love with the idea of BEing in Love. Once smitten, they put all their energy into seducing that person. None can resist the Horse's advances. They Live for romance--to give it and to receive it. For Love, Horses have been knOWn to give up everything, including their home, and uproot their Lives to move across the country or even the world. Since they thrive on dramatic scenes, they need variety in order to stay interested. To potential suitors: Ignoring them will keep them interested! Horses are very enthusiastic about sex. They are passionate and energetic lovers. Their eyes are very seductive. They are sprinters and not marathon runners, though, so don't expect all-night performances! The Horse is associated with the Heart and small intestines. They need to watch their diets in that regard. They are highly strung creatures and need some kind of occasional exercise to expend their nervous energy. Sports and competitiveness are good avenues for this, although they prefer mental challenges over physical ones. Still, a lot of male Horses make great athletes. A double Fire Horse is either a great success or a great failure. The Fire magnifies both the good AND bad traits. In China, people avoid giving birth in a Horse fire year if possible, because they are a lot to handle as children. They are more unruly than other Horses, but their Lives are always thrilling and exciting. Aquarian Horses are more talented than other Horses, and more than anything else, they enjoy the company of new friends.

Hmmm...I'm a monkey....
betcha wouldn't have guessed that!!!!
hehehehe

oopps, Auriel, we'd better avoid each other! ***grin***
although, after reading your description of a horse Randall;....I could swear I resemble all those remarks!! (maybe that's why I love horses so much!)

I have no idea what my element or companion is though...how do I work that out?

....just as an interesting experience.... I was visited by the monkey spirit in two separate dreams when I was in Borneo....in the first one he pierced my palms, nailing them to the earth of Borneo...(kewl)....
in the second though, (a nightmare, very real) he was more malevolent, however he did not harm me but sat on the end of my bed....I thought that I was going to die (by his action) but I woke up in time! phew!!! The really bizare ending though, is that I was attacked by maccaque monkeys at Bako national park (Sarawak, Borneo) and now, I am a "teeny" bit frightened by them! (classic understatement)

Geez Randall, you'd be shocked at how much of that fits me! No ego though and I blush with flattery.

I don't understand how it works though. Is it a generational thing? How did you find out I am a double Fire Horse? Because I was born in the year of the Fire Horse AND because I'm Aquarius??

Difficult children???? LOL Hmm, now I wonder what my kids are! Kassiana is a little Leo with Scorp rising and she's just a little munchkin! Joshua is very wise and Aneasha is beautiful, artistic and WILD!

Thanks for doing all that Randall. I REALLY appreciate it. What an angel you are.

Love and light,
~Auriel

Aus, your Inner Companion may be a Horse (the equivalent of a Western ascendant crossed with a Moon sign). It's based on the time of birth in exact two-hour increments.

Auriel, your Inner Companion can significantly modify your Chinese Sign, as it is basically a Sun Sign type reading. You are a Double Fire Horse, because Horse is a Fire Sign, and you were also born under a Fire Horse year. Personally, from what I k-NOW of you so far, I think an honest well-placed compliment is very much enjoyable for you. I don't think your Ego is very large, but I do detect an Ego peeping out at times.

Raines, what part of 1967? On or before February 8th, he would also be a Horse. After that, he's a Goat.
