NUTS! I forgot that you had posted that chicken recipe in this thread. We got so far off track with the whole party atmosphere, that I completely forgot about that!

Thanks, jwhop. I'll actually use that recipe next time. Promise

Yeah, well it's easy to get carried away when you like to party---and what Leo doesn't?

You got that right! And tell me - what party would be complete without at least one Leo in attendance?

It's like "Instant Party Mix...add Leo, shake, then PARTY!"

Yep, fun is the Leo curse

"Cigarettes, whiskey and wild wild women
They'll drive you crazy, they'll drive you insane"

Well, OK---scratch the cigarettes. As for the rest, it's like I said---doubles is trouble.

I tried to like whiskey once...that did not work well.

So I passed up the fun yearly evening picnic in Central Park this year-BIG bummer. Usually a lot of wine and different foods...

BBQing lately, jwhop?

You tried to like whiskey once? So, what happened----drive you crazy? Or just burn all the way down to your toenails?

Sorry you had to miss the annual picnic

Oxy, it's so hot here I've been loath to light the barbecue and raise the mercury any higher but if you like steak medium rare any black car hood will do the same job in about 10 minutes.

Well, the whiskey was too busy burning every fiber in my face to make it down to my toes, really.

No biggie about the picnic...looks like one of my Aqua buddies and I will try to create a new one.

No..Medium-Well to Well Done is the way to go for me. Guess we'll just have to wait for you to have an autumn BBQ.

Well, you've probably sworn off whiskey altogether. Not to mention that there's a better use for good bourbon than whiskey facials!

Let me know when you get your picnic cranked up, I've never been to Central Park. Unless it's going to be an all air affair.

Sure, I can cook your steak medium to medium well----I even have a chain saw you can use to cut it when it's done!

Autumn barbecue? Are you a procrastinator? And after I went to all that trouble to arrange for a cooler weekend

Well done!?! NOOOOO! Gotta have some pink juice to it. Otherwise, you might as well have a hamburger. Oh, yeah! I forgot. Alot of Americans like their hamburgers pink-ish too..not here. It's illegal to serve them that way in restaraunts. Did you know that?

I once read that Leos are the biggest carnivores of the Zodiac. I know I am. And I love it bloody *mwa ha ha ha ha

Yeah, you can't get an undercooked hamburger here either---unless you make your own like I do.

As one carnivore to another, I have to have a high protein diet or I feel weak and that diet is mostly beef, eggs, cottage cheese with a few veggies and some pasta thrown in---sometimes and then I feel great.
Amberjack, salmon, grouper and snapper on the grill are great too but I have to be in a certain mood for chicken.

I like my steak just past rare but not all the way to medium rare--and if the juices don't run out when I cut it, it's overcooked.
Moooooooo!

Sorry juniperb

Oh Oxy, seafood is my favorite but very expensive and hard to get here.

jwhop, I was with ya til you said ate a moo I eat high protien too as I get anemic easily. Once in a blue moon I crave meat and I find thats when the blood is getting tired. I do manage to eat small portions of it very well done. The whole time praying my four legged brother/sister forgives me and understands my intent. It makes my stomach hurt too

Living in a small farm community, I`m the odd duck out so I`m used to the appetites of carnivores and taking the ribbing like a good little rabbit .

Well good. How do you feel about blue crab? http://www.fishingnj.org/procrab.htm

Easy to trap----Abundant and easy to prepare. Eating them is a little more difficult!
I'll fix you up with a string and chicken neck so you can catch your own dinner---If you'll bring your crab mallet.

They do sound good. Believe me, ya don`t eat the crabs here. Bitter, muddy tasting little buggers and mean as dirt to boot

The only seafood I get is Red Lobster & will try them if they have them.

Can I sub. a hotdog for the boney ol chicken neck - eewww.

Ok, maybe Oxy would take the chicken neck! But you might have trouble keeping that hot dog tied to the string. When in doubt, use fish heads.

Soft spot for firesigns. Leo moon----maybe Well, in that case, put me down for potato salad.

Actually, I`d rather eat a fish head than a nasty hotdog, so the crab still gets the weiner

eeeeww Oxy, happy crabbing!

Let's see if I've got this right. The crab eats that nasty wiener and then you eat the Crab

Think Lioneye will hold out for fillet to feed her crab?

What did I just miss?

Damn, this gyro is good.

I loove crab legs...Alaskan King crab legs...of course, lobster is my favorite. I love sushi/sashimi too. I love muscles, oysters on the half shell (except for some weird concoction that Fajita and I ate once-bleh), tuna, salmon, sable, you name it. I'm like a little kid in a toystore when I know I'm about to feast on seafood. There's a good little Brazilian place over here that makes an amazing crusted salmon with capers.

Ok, best to stop talking about the seafood I'm not eating tonight.

I appreciate the offer jwhop and juniperb, but I simply couldn't take your chicken necks.

potato salad-check

Well, you didn't miss much. Just a discussion on the relative delights of crab bait! Very scintillating, if you're a crab.

Sorry, Alaskan King Crab isn't on the do it yourself menu in our warm waters Spiny Lobster is a different story but you would have to dive for them.

Best to enjoy what the Bays and estuaries yield up easily and that's blue crab The limit is 10 gallons per person, per day! Why not just bait up some traps and give those crabs a smorgasbord of chicken, fish heads and tube steak to dine on while we kick back in chaise lounges and suck up some cold beers while those crabs are fattening up.

And, if we strike out, we can head over to the Lobster Pot for dinner.

I wouldn`t be eating crab poop jwhop The hotdog would pass right thru it and the carp would gobble it up. My crab would have clean innards if I had to sit & watch it all night to go poo The beers would pacify me til it did.

I get so needy sometimes, I buy frozen king crab legs out of the grocery store. A little mushy, but as close to seafood heaven as it gets here.

Gosh, now I`m hungry. juniperb
