By the time those crabs poop juniperb you'll be so bombed you won't be able to figure out how to coax them out of their shells.

Yeah, frozen seafoods in the stores but who can figure out in which century they were frozen?

OK Lioneye, a nice thick rare Ribeye and crab salad for you then

Well, the weekend has been a total screwup. When that lamebrained limo driver showed up with only 4 girls Friday evening, I thought he'd left at least one of you at the airport.

Then, they all had to have showers after their long flights and by that time it was after midnight. When I tried to find out who was who, I just drew blank stares. Oxy, 1scorp, juniperb, Lioneye and Mar y Soul didn't ring any bells for them. One of them perked up when I said Mary, turned out to be one Mary Sorrel. By the time I got the whole story pieced together, it turns out they were flown in by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers to try out for the cheerleading team on Sunday (today) and my limo driver picked them up by mistake. Worse, when they didn't check in, the hotel went ahead and rented their rooms out and they didn't have anyplace else to go, big convention in town. So, they--well actually, we ate and partied until the police showed up about 3:30 and told us to take the party inside. I'm worn out what with trips to the store and all that cooking Saturday, not to mention the continuation of the party Saturday night. When they called in to tell the Bucs what happened, they were offered a suite of rooms at the Hyatt that the Bucs keep open for VIP visitors but they declined---damn, damn, damn.

To cap off a perfect weekend, there was a major thunderstorm and tornado warnings this afternoon for Tampa and the surrounding area so the cheerleading tryouts were postponed until tomorrow. So, I'm more of less stuck with the cheerleaders until tomorrow--damn. My house looks like a cyclone went through and there are clothes everywhere. Two of the cheerleaders are Leos, so as you can imagine, there aren't enough mirrors to go around and I had to elbow my way in just to comb my hair and brush my teeth. I guess it's all worth it but still, I wonder how can a woman spend an hour and a half in the bath and emerge dressed in a pair of shorts, a cutoff tee-shirt and her hair in a ponytail?

Right now, they're over at the beach setting off the last of my fireworks left over from the 4th. They're expecting to party again tonight so, I don't have much time. I've tried to be the perfect host and a gentleman to boot but they're talking about making this an annual event. Sometimes it's hard being a Leo.

Oxy, as to your question about doggy bags; all I can say is these ladies really eat and drink, don't know where they put it all and it sure doesn't show but I don't expect there will be a scrap of food left when they depart tomorrow.

You poor thing you.

You didn't tell us you had a limo.

Probably just as well. Who wants to feel self-conscious pigging out at a BBQ in front of some cheerleaders?

Knew you'd be sympathetic to my plight!

Well, remember mentioning the limo. Hired it for the *occassion*

Hmmm, why am I having a problem associating Aquarius/Leo Moon with self consciousness?

Besides which, if you hadn't all missed your flights, things wouldn't have gone so terribly wrong and those cheerleaders wouldn't have been here in the first place.

Fun logic, jwhop!

hmm..dunno..i get shy sometimes (not all the time). In fact, I'm usually not shy...but I'm veering off topic here.

Just another BBQ thing-my friend made ambrose salad and brought it to a BBQ. It was quite yummy!

You're shy? Gee, me too! Yeah, this thread's veered all over the road and sometimes into the ditch!

Have no idea what ambrose salad is but if it's that good, bring it to the next BBQ!

Ambrose salad has something to do with marshmallows and fruit. I'll try to dig up a decent recipe.

YOU? SHY? Gee, I must have missed that somewhere around the nudist plane ride and the cheerleaders.

And hey, what's the harm in a few tangents here and there?

OK, trade ya a great taco salad for your ambrose salad recipe
Nothing wrong with tangents, if you like angles!

Hmmm, you forget, it wasn't me getting on that all nude flight! Brrrrrr, I'm too warm blooded for that

Need more fish recipes. Salmon steaks? White fish? What's the best fish to barbeque? C'mon folks, dish it up.

Anybody? Anyone? Anyone? (remember that monotone teacher in 'Fast Times a Ridgemont High'? Or was it 'Ferris Bueler's Day Off'?)

OK Lioneye, try this for grilled Swordfish.

1/2 cup white wine
5 cloves garlic, minced
2 teaspoons chopped fresh rosemary
4 (4 ounce) swordfish steaks
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
4 slices lemon, for garnish

Combine wine, garlic, and 1 teaspoon rosemary in suitable (glass) dish. Sprinkle fish with salt and pepper--place in dish, turning to coat. Marinade covered in the fridge at least 1 hour.

Combine remaining 1 teaspoon rosemary, lemon juice, and olive oil in a small bowl. Set aside.

Start your charcoal fire, or preheat your gas grill.

Be sure to spray grill grate with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Remove fish from marinade, and cook over hot coals for 4 to 5 minutes on each side and don't overcook or you'll dry it out.

Transfer to a serving platter, or to individual plates. Spoon lemon mixture over fish, garnish with lemon wedges, and serve immediately.

Oxy, I'm SO glad to be somewhere

Mmm...grilled swordfish...

I had a horseradish crusted salmon the other night.
Well, not a whole salmon of course, just a piece of it..

jwhop, I meant to say that I was in dire need of a good laugh. And I don't mean that in a bad way.

Hmmm, well salmon is a little strong for my tastes! Tell you what, just scrape the crust off for me and I'll have the salmon flavored
horseradish.

Hey Oxy, guess I could record some of my better jokes on my toll free 800 line and give you the proper bin number---just for those times when you need a good laugh.

Woo, this thread fell quiet. Must be a temporal anomaly passing by.

D'y'think, jwhop, that the ladies have snuck off to other, local barbeques of their own, to gather more "field research" in recipes?

Well, anything's possible Lunargirl. They could just be off doing "recipe" research

More likely they've dumped me without bothering to tell me

Oh, we've all just been busy packing, arranging pet care, shopping for the perfect wardrobe additions, etc. You know, all the stuff involved in taking a trip. Jwhop, will I be needing my own sleeping bag and pillow, or shall you be providing those?

I made myself the most spectacular prime rib steak last night on the barbee...MMMM..gosh darn it, it was GOOD!

I DO hope you guys open the border to our beef soon, but in the meantime, we're experiencing some very nice beef prices here.

Aw, with Aquarius in my fourth house, how could I refuse them the hospitality of my home just because they're cheerleaders

Lioneye, I'm a Leo, would I have overlooked something as important as sleeping arrangements?

Rare prime rib----yum
