As we know, the Convention last summer didn't come about, so I would like to make a suggestion for a future one.
As we all know ,Linda lived in Cripple Creek Colorado, her Shangri-la. Nowadays it is a booming casino town.
I thought it would be great to maby meet there next December 8th!
They have plenty of hotel rooms and convention halls... maybe we could get a sweet deal.
I know Linda lived in many places, but I think her heart is still there.(or Linda)!!
The average room rates at the hotels range from 45-89 dollars. Most are in the 50's.
And we can visit some of the places Linda lived, like the Last Dollar Inn.

We have a year to try, so lets see what we can do!!
I would love to go there and meet up with the Knowflakes!

It is a grand idea

But unless the uni-verse drops oodles and oodles of extra cash my way, I probably will have to be there in spirit

God willing, I will have moved to the area by then and would love to meet you! If that turns out to be the case, perhaps we'll have enough room for a certain juniperberry..who can say what the future might bring?

HUGS Daf that would be one wonderful visit Thanks for the invite!! Am I pushing my luck by saying 2 four leggeds would have to accompany me?? All 225 lbs of them?

The oodles of $$ would be to pay for a qualified person to step in & care for the myriad of critters here. Many needing special medical care. I put it out in the uni-verse and just maybe I`ll see ya`ll next December

My being there'll probably have to be an improbability, but I'll be there in spirit.

Take pictures!

What would be really neat, is a Care-A-Van of Knowflakes, starting on the East Coast and meeting up with various other Knowflakes along the way, until by the time you reached Cripple Creek, there were a whole bunch of you traveling together!

We could even start one on the West Coast and meet up.

(Sigh...love to daydream...life is so good to us, can't our dreams come too true?!)

What LTD said. December in Cripple Creek doesn't seem tolerable to us Southern folk.

awwww c'mon guys n gals.. It's not thaaaat cold. Course this is coming from a born and raised Alaskan, I suppose.
But seriously..it may be chilly but it's stunningly gorgeous. It's good to have a break from one's norm..getting outside one's comfort zone can be really regenerative.

Course if it seems like just toooo much to tolorate for all the southern folk then maybe a summer date in Cripple Creek? The summers in the mountains are a splendid thing to behold.

You should read firestar's post under The Awakener. Apparently, it hasn't been getting too cold in that area lately. Maybe that's a sign to you suth-ah-nahs to get moving!

P.S. You're talking to a man who lives in Baja California, I guarantee I'm farther south and the weather's warmer..unless yer in Texas!

I'm from New England, currently buried under a foot of snow, and Colorado in December seems awfully cold to me. Bbrrr. But I'm willing to brave it for a knowflake convention! Party at Daf's house!

Daf, you live in Baja California? LUCKY
