from the East coast since 9/11? I was pretty scared about the whole thing, I couldn't sleep, I started to become semi-paranoid about living near so many "targets". I moved to a spot in the very south east corner of AZ. on the border of Mexico and New Mexico. Nicely tucked away in a corner of the US no one really cares about. Any one else relocate?

I've relocated tons of times. Not just cities and towns, but countries also. Nothing because of 9/11 though.

We moved to the foothills about two years ago from the Bay area in San Francisco. We are not far from Tahoe now. It was a big change for us to go from a large city to the countryside. We love the views and the quiet. It's so serene here. Also we would not have been able to buy this kind of land in the Bay area.

We have huge granite boulders in the yard which are very grounding for me. I mention that Philly, only because of your interest in stones.

I love to see deer, wild turkeys, and all manner of other wild life in our own yard. The birds on the lake are especially fascinating to watch. I love birds.

The other nightmare was keeping the deer away from all my fruit tress, veggies and flowers. We have tons of them here. I tried all manner of things to dissuade them to no avail. Finally, we had to fence. I still get to see all the lovely animals, they just don't get to eat all my fruit and flowers anymore. I even have rose bushes, they are bloomin' gorgeous at the mo.

Who knows where we'll move to next. Wherever spirit guides us to I suppose.

Hubby and I are taking our rock hammers into the desert. We've had a couple of monsoons and we're going to dig in the washes, probably for torquise. See you later!

Gia??????????????????????????

Are we neighbors?????????????lol

I'm up hwy.50. And everyone that is new around here are bay area transplanters. Or are you up Hwy.80? Wait, you said close to Tahoe, so perhaps it is Hwy 50. I'm trying to be discreet. I live really close to where the homemade helicopter crashed last week. If your from around here, you'll know what I'm talk'in about.

I'm off Highway 50. Yes, very near the helicopter accident. Yep, we are definitely neighbors. Have you lived near here long?

a transplanted alien!

lol, I just re-read your post wherein you said "granite" boulders...& lake....duh, Noreen, hahaha...........I have huge boulders but not granite..I was thinking you were up the hill further.....(sometimes it takes me awhile, lol, geeeez!) I do want to thank you for the recipe for healthy looking skin by taking vitamins, you have no idea how excited I was, I had printed and told my 21 year old to start it NOW! (you had posted it at the "perfect" time)as we were dealing with some skin issues. Ok, gotta run.....(how funny) to your neck of the woods for a day of soccer tournaments.
