Wow! Didn't realize what I'd been missing....everything looks so beautiful!

Eye surgery a success Wednesday.....next eye due for surgery on Nov. 3....*sigh*....

Everything went well, and except for a sore and pink eye...all is well....vision in right eye perfect!

Thanks to those of you who were thinking of me.....

Love,
Rainbow

Glad to hear everything went OK! I wish I could have eye surgery! I'm sure you've read somewhere here about my sight. If I were rich... I don't have good insurance, and believe it or not, they call cateract surgery in a blind eye, "Cosmetic!" They call surgery to correct a stigmatism "elective!" This is a major problem, everything moves back and forth constantly! I have no depth perception, I'd like to see the person who decides what is and is not elective, live a day in my shoes. I can't even get a glass eye so I won't look so much like a freak!
Now, I collect Social Security, not much, but it's something. I work parttime to make ends meet. A while ago I inquired about surgery for my stigmatism. I said to the agent, "You know, If I were to have this surgery you call elective, I would be able to drive, and continue the career I was trained for. If Medicare would pay for this, I wouldn't need Social Security!" It will cost the government more money to keep me on SSD than to pay for the operation! This my friend is where your tax dollars are going.
It's funny, I have Medicare for blindness, yet it doesn't cover eye exams or glasses!
Don't you think I'd much rather see, than be covered for a flu shot, that I can't get?
Sorry about the rant, I'm very happy for you Rainbow., really. I bet you'll notice that large Aura you see around the trees isn't as large as you thought it was, huh?

Hi Phil....

This was cataract surgery and I have Medicare....I cannot understand why they will not pay for the surgery you need.....

I was practically blind in my right eye, and the left one has pretty blurry vision too..(and those doggone auras disappeared...)

Medicare won't pay it all, but the Indian Tribe to which I belong will pick up the rest...so yeah, I guess I'm lucky....

Keep trying....wish I could help

Love,
Rainbow

Philbird, here in MI our Lions Club gives financial aid to those with eyesight problems. It would be worth a shot to contact your local one and ask if they have aid available.

Ours has helped so much with helping my Nephew (he has Retinitis Pigmentosa) They have even provided him with a seeing eye dog, glasses, collage classes for the blind and financial aid to get to and from the University of Michigan for treatments.A wonderful organisation.

Rainbow, how wonderful, I am so happy for you

Juni....I really hope the LIONS CLUB can help Philbird...I hadn't thought of them....
She needs help and I truly hope she can get it. No one should be deprived of their eyesight if it can be restored...

SEEING is believing...(now I know what they mean!)

For more details, juni....go to CE, and read my EYE SURGERY post.....and know what? People were telling me it was a "piece of cake," but frankly, I'd rather go thru the prodecure you will be facing shortly, than the eye surgery....Still. I'm going to get the other one done....the results are really worth it...*sigh*

I'll be thinking of you, gal...and you're in my prayers....

Love,
Rainbow

But you can still see auras, this time, if you choose!
