My daughter is turning four next month. She is soooooo sweet, if you only knew.... She'll grab a dandilion, a fluffy white one, and blow on it for a wish, saying (picture a four year old speak ~ All w's where there should be R's..)
"I wish I wish, with all my heawt, that I could have a kitty cat." *bat, bat, bat goes the eyelashes.
Picture this at every wishing opportunity. For months.
Picture also... a husband who is very allergic to kitty cats.
Now picture my husband walking into my place of employment later friday evening, to non-chalently drop.. "How's your night? Having a good one? ..... Good!... So, Claire and I went to a few stores tonight, and I was just going to look, and well.. we got a cat."
Picture me... "Um.. we got a cat?"
*But... don't you know I aesthetically want to choose one?
*But.....um... you are allergic......
*But um.... it's a boy cat? I have never had a boy cat!
This is all split second reaction... then.....
*BEAMS*
I have a boy cat????!!!!!
I have a kitty???? YAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!!

I have a kitty cat!! Er... I mean.. My daughter Claire has a kitty cat!!!!!
We get him tomorrow.
He is my little bumkins, oh, I will love him soooooooooooo much.

Yep. I have a kitten.

Congratulations...you have been adopted..or will be adopted, but a kitty. See, you can never really own them..they own you. LOL...

I love kitties. Male kitties seem to have more energy throughout their lives that females. My female is a watermelon while my male, Fletcher is 12 years going on 2 years. LOL...

Mr. Taurus is also allergic to cats. I have Benedryl next to the bed now..just in case. My cats aren't sure what to think of him, especially since he insists on calling Fletcher - Spencer and Phoebe- Fluffycat.

The other day he was sitting on the couch watching TV (SO Taurus) and Fletcher was just sitting next to him, staring at him..tail flipping about, his little lip curled up over his missing tooth. Mr T says "See....Spencer loves me, he keeps staring at me wanting to be my friend"

"Nope" I said "He is just waiting for you to stop breathing so that he can eat you"..LOL..HAA HAA

He didn't laugh - but Fletcher / Spencer and I did.

Hee heee, thanks ladies.
Well... After much deliberation....
It iS my daughter's cat after all.. she wanted..."Car"....."Booger"..... "Kitty"... or "Puppy"
My Hubby likes Samson or Gabriel...
My son liked Mister.E (Mystery)
I think we all settled on "Cosmo."
Kinda' like Cosmos, and also a good magazine.
I like Cosmo. "Cozmo?" I guess it doesn't matter how we spell it, it's not like the kitty will be signing important documents...

Pixie..I think the name Cosmo is very appropriate, being that he is like a little cosmic gift- being that your man is allergic and all.

Solane, LOL.. I think men have a hard time understanding the feline persuasion..and the feminine persuasion for that matter. I am getting a big kick out of watching Mr. Taurus try to talk to the cats in the same manner as he does with the dogs he trains and works with (He is an Military Police officer - K9 Unit). So at times he gets this authoratarain tone in his voice and commands "Fletcher, down boy..get off the table".

Silence...no movement...Fletcher stares wide-eyed at this big bull boy that is barking out orders.."Hmmm....does he realize that I am a cat?" thinks Mr. Woobie "Maybe his little K9 freaks enjoy being told what to do...but I am a Leo..and a feline..and my mommy is a Sag..so noooo..I will not move....crazy two-legged"

Mr. Taurus puts his hands on his hips....a bit of steam permeates his nostrils.."Look here Spencer..I said DOWN".

I shoot Fletcher a "look" point at him and say "Get down dude"....

He does and just prances away. Knowing that he still won, but also knowing that I feed him, snuggle him and make sure his treats find him every evening.

I also believe the cats know that he is allergic, which is why they keep trying to get into our bedroom. I am sure they just want to rub all over his pillow...Poor Mr. T..he is handling it will though. The Benedryl is really helping too. No more snoring.

Cosmo...as in, Cosmo Kramer? (Seinfeld)

I like it.

Pid...My boy T.C. used to insist on sitting between an old BF and me. T.C. hated the BF...I shoulda listened earlier. Cats know.

Update~ The little bumkins is such a dolface. He has this habit of perching on my shoulder and cuddling into my neck. He sort of burrows into my hair. I even move him away to look at him, but he burrows right back again, if I am laying down, he'll curl his little body around my breast. ( Such a man) He is on my shoulder right now, purring, as I write.
I am his solace, after dealing with a fascinated three year old girl who won't let him alone. She dictates his every move and carries him around. He is a trooper, a gentle heart who accepts it, and will run away when he needs.
He was born on July 19. A Cancer who has stolen my Scorpio heart.
If you could see.. he just mewed at me, so I moved him away to see what was wrong.. he sniffed at me, and cuddled himself into my neck again. I am so smitten.
PPPPPPPUUUUUURRRRRRRR......

Claire started her first day of Jr. Kindergarten today. I didn't cry.

BTW~ Pid, I loved your stories! I felt like calling Cosmo Fletcher .. I kept forgetting his name, and Fletcher would pop in my head... hee hee. Cosmo it is though.. it is getting more natural.

Awwwww, Pixie, your kitty sounds soooo cute!!! I love Cancer pets!! Their absolutly adorable!! and get on so well with their Scorp mummys!!!
Found this snippet on a 'Pet Astrology' site. Thought u might like!

CATS: With the moon as the ruler of Cancer it is not surprising that cats born under this sign are true to their nocturnal nature. You'll have trouble rousing them during the day but at night they're extremely active. Fortunately, they're not prone to a fight and will timidly back off- the lion in Wizard of Oz is a typical Cancerian. You'll just love your Cancerian cat- he'll melt your heart with his constant need for affection.

oooooo a little boy kitty! Adorable.. did you mention what color he is? I don't remember...

Cosmo is a great name.. When I was 17 I got a little chocolate lab pup I named Kosmo..Partly named for Kramer from Seinfeld and partly from the cool character named Kos from the movie Sneakers..
Anyway, it's a greeeeaaat name.
Boy kitties are my favorite too.. I've got a dear one named Jupiter.. I'm slightly allergic too but he won my heart that night he sauntered into my bar, walked past all the patrons to come behind the bar and look up at me with his big ol kitten eyes and say "Mmmwwrrrooooooow" (translation: I want some of that hotdog you are cookin..)
Jupiter is my first child.

Congratulations on the new family member, pixie!

Wow Harpyr.. the synchronicity ( in simple ways) abounds... I always feel that I somehow understand beyond when we communicate.
The whole "Kosmo" thing..
AND...
Everytime I think of naming a pet, I want to call it jupiter.
I had a few Beta ( Siamese fighting fish) over the years.. the extent of our pet-ownership/sharing... and each one, I have called Jupiter.
I even threw around 'Jupiter' for my little Cosmo here.

Neat!
I am immensely enjoying this little bumkins.. we have such a sweet repore. The neck snuggles do me in!!!

I will have to post a picture ( first I have to take some, I can't believe I haven't yet!!!) *slaps own hand*

Here's another. I didn't like the background, so I made it like a peaceful kitty solace cloud.
