...friends and favorite acquaintances?I will put this as simply and briefly as I can. I no longer enjoy being a part of this website. I don't feel that it contributes much to my spiritual growth. Nor does it leave me with a positive feeling much of the time. Therefore, I will not be coming here much longer. A few more days, to check on this string, and then no more. I know some of you would tell me to "separate the wheat from the chaff", to participate in what I feel is good about this site, and ignore the rest. Unfortunately, I'm no good at doing that. There are people here whose words and ideas I will miss terribly, and that is why I'm making this post. I have enjoyed communicating with some of you very much, even if only casually, and I would like it if I could continue that communication even beyond this website. I suppose if I put here the names of the people who have made a positive impact on me during my time as a Knowflake, I would be accused of trying to "divide the camp", wouldn't I? Should I let that stop me from expressing my appreciation of these people and the Love and Light they have shared? Naaahhh... Gia, Harpyr, JuniperB, Pixelpixie, BloodRedMoon, Lioneye68, SunChild, Sheea Olein, Quiksilver, Ghanima81, Proxieme, LibraSparkle, Ra, Aphrodite -- all of you have touched my heart in some way. I really hope I get to hear from you again. There are others of you whom I have wanted to get to know better, but have not had the time and the opportunity... At any rate, for anyone who found some value in the things I've had to say, and might still want to communicate with me, here are two ways: My e-mail address is nimh@pcis.net. And, of course, you can find me on IRC -- on Undernet, to be exact, in the channel #wonderland. to you all. ------------------ http://www.mirc.co.uk/ IP: Logged |

Paras, I'm sorry to hear that. Fair enough, since you must follow your heart; it's understandable. It's good to know we can still contact you! I've been meaning to mail for you for ages, but time at work nowadays won't permit a full draft.I hope you come and visit when you feel comfortable. I wish you all the best as always IP: Logged |

Paras,Your light will be greatly missed. For what it's worth: ''Good women always think it is their fault when someone else is being offensive. Bad women never take the blame for anything.'' -- Anita Brookner from 'Hotel du Lac' ''The philosopher has never killed any priests, whereas the priest has killed a great many philosophers.'' -- Denis Diderot ''In every parting, there is an image of death.'' -- George Eliot Go with grace, and go with peace Ghani (ps. didn't mean to have a smiley face on this post... ) IP: Logged |

Damn! I didn't make the list. Nevertheless, for what it's worth, I tend to agree with you paras. I came here for healthy dose of spirituality and I find less and less of it. I understand that others are looking for other things though and I wish them well too. Ditto on the "positive feelings".I wish you a Good Journey pilgram tink IP: Logged |

AW You'll be sorely missed. I'm so sad reading this post. I'll be sure to send you an email soon so that you're sure to have my email address and we can keep in touch. I'll have to give that chat thingy a shot again. I only used it a couple times. I think I can incorporate it into Trillian (not our dear Trill, but the chat program). I many need further instructions though I had to reformat again, so the program is gone from my poor 'puter. I'll be in touch soon, darlin'. IP: Logged |

Paras, I too am sorry that you're leaving. Instead of forever why not just take a break and see if things are more to your liking when you come back. If you decide not to, know that you will be missed.IP: Logged |

Cya Paras. I just had a question:In your email, does Nimh represent the land where the Rats dwelt in the book? I think it was called "The Secret of Nimh"? Walk in Peace, Dean. IP: Logged |

Sesame:Yes. But it actually stands for National Institute of Mental Health, who owned the lab that I and my rat brothers escaped from, not the land where we dwelt. Please forgive my Venus-in-Virgoan tendency to split hairs like that. ------------------ http://www.mirc.co.uk/ IP: Logged |

For LibraSparkle and Anyone Else who may want to chat:The instructions on how to install and set up mIRC (a chat program) are on pages 3 and 4 of this string: http://www.linda-goodman.com/ubb/Forum7/HTML/003508-3.html The directions start halfway down page 3. Look for a post with a bold title that says "Demystifing mIRC (and IRC)". Page 3 isn't anything specific about the program, or installing it or setting it up. It just describes the basic concept of how networks work, so that some of what I tell you later doesn't sound like techno-babble. Page 4 actually starts the meat-and-potatoes directions. The directions only seem long and complicated. They are long because I broke them down into the simplest, plainest English possible, and made them as step-by-step as possible, for those who don't know a lot about computers. I guarantee that if you read slowly and carefully, and follow the directions as written, it will not be difficult to do. You only need to set mIRC up once. After that, it takes one click and one command to connect whenever you want to. Everyone who I've gotten to try it has agreed it's way better than Chatzy. And it is! You can do a lot of fun things with it that you can't do with Chatzy and Instant Messengers, and it's lightning-fast, even for people with slow Internet connections (like me). No mistake; it is by far my most preferred form of electronic communication. Hope to see you there... <Scampers off down the rabbit-hole...> ------------------ http://www.mirc.co.uk/ IP: Logged |
