VTT:I didn't say that the person whom you love, will be the one who loves you in return. But what you put out to the Universe, is what will come back to you. I also didn't say that the Universe would deliver in the sort of linear time/space way we in which we like to travel. See what happens when we assume? Or interpret? Or perceive? 26T, thank you for more great Lennon quotes. You're such a love. Truth is always truth. Perception is a different matter all together. It was never true that the world was flat; it was only believed to be so. Detachment from the Truth is always Denial. IP: Logged |

Wow...i see where this thread is going...now I must be in denial because I didn't believe something you typed, which you state as the truth. This is why I wind up hating that new age b.s. *leaves*IP: Logged |

Who says that one has to connect all the time. I think its overrated and its one of those things that people tend to criticise in others. Now if you feel this an area that you want to work on then more power to ya. Sometimes we humans make the mistake of thinking our world is one reality. Its not. Its individual to each of us. If you are not highly social then who gives a rip. It's your reality to manipulate as you choose.IP: Logged |

I agree thirteen. Except that Danny seems to want to connect on a different level than she has been...which is how I interpreted her original posts.I went along happily for years, with just one or two close friends, not socializing a lot. Then came a time when I thought I'd like to connect more. I started doing some of the things I posted earlier in this thread, opening my mind and heart, welcoming more people in. People who weren't necessarily 'like' me, but from whom I continue to learn so much. And I love loving them. I love making more friends and having a social life again. But to each her own, in her own time. And about all the "new age b.s." I love so much of that too, like astrology, lexigramming, etc. It's what brings me here, and keeps me here, at LL. And this was my first post on my supercool ultra fast new 'puter with the flat LCD Screen. WooHoo! IP: Logged |

thirteen, I do agree with you. Who makes the rules, right? Trillian u got it. Everythings a bit samey right now and i just wanna shake things up a little. Its no biggy really. I do have one or two friends I connect deeply with and I like to keep one or two things back for myself. I have a lot of friends, all of them close, from all walks of life and a pretty active social life. I've been a tad bored with things, recent graduate with more than enough time on her hands.

Danny thanks for referring me to this thread, it is right on the level that i was looking for with my previous thread. From what i have read here i think my problems connecting with some of the people at work are due to the level that people have evoloved to spiritualy and maturity wise. All the people i find it difficult to connect with have lived in the same place their whole lives and haven't really experienced much of anything outside their immediate circles. I just don't understand how people can exist like that? I know you should try to understand that not everyone sees things the same way and blah blah blah but i look at these people and i just want to shake them awake!! Anyone else feel this way?IP: Logged |

I think we all have a hard time connecting with people sometimes, just some more than others. I grew up just with a grandmother, so I only saw kids at school and sometimes outside of it. You know, spent most of my time in my room making up stories with my dolls. So I've never really been that socially adept, and connecting to others is hard for me too, but I really love people. You know, I love watching them, being with them, it's great. I love humanity, I love watching it, reading about it, all of that, it's just wonderful and fascinating and everything. But when it comes to actually interacting, no, I'm not very connected. I've always had one or two very close friends over the years, and now I have one too that I really loff. But I can be extrememly detached. I can sit in a room with thirty other people talking and completely blank out for minutes at a time, not really thinking or anything, just staring at the floor or something. You know, glazed eyes and all of that. But anyway, I'm always chronically procrastinating, so of course I always say that I'll do this tomorrow and that next week. I can be extremely unproductive, but I like to use the excuse that it's just because school has taken over my life and I don't have any motivation to do a lot anymore except sleep and make sure that I pass my classes. What can I say, I love John Lennon too. Just look at my sig .
