Keith Richards.

I don't know, really, anything shiny is nice to me- I guess I'm a bit partial to amethyst, since it's my birth stone.

Goodness, there are so many, but here's a few for starters:
Obsidian, for its cool sharpness; tiger's eye, for the bands that seem to come from within it; star sapphire, for the same reason; labradorite, for the iridescent colours; pyrites and bismuth for their amazing crystal shapes
(you're talking to a wannabe geologist here - I love anything with iron in it, by the way - stands to reason as I'm an )
Will post more later but have to dash.

I also love tiger eye. Does this stone have any significance?

Sulphur! I love the smell - just inhaling from the crystal! Maybe this is why I like pyrite so much (iron disulphide). Haematite of the mamillated "kidney ore" type.
Also - mica or micaceous stuff, smoky quartz, Australian boulder opal - yellow rock matrix with a chink of rainbow colour flowing through it. Wonderful!
Agate geodes, watermelon or other dual-coloured tourmaline crystals, carborundum (man-made mineral, black, with iridescence). Malachite and any type of jasper, esp. ocean jasper - incredible patterns.

Fossils are also great!

I always wear a diamond ring - the diamonds in it are tiny, but they DO give me extra energy and motivation. There is a lot to be said for wearing one's birthstone. When I don't wear the ring I can't get going, somehow.

My favorite is turquoise and, I find I am drawn more to the stones that are left raw.

Mine is a rose quartz in the shape of a heart!
I've collected rocks in the shape (or close to the shape) of a heart. Whether they be perfect hearts (very few and in between unless they've been carved by hand), or hearts that make you look a while to see the heart within.
This particukar one is my favorite because #1) Its Rose Quartz (carved) and #2) it was given to me as a gift from my hunnys Auntie and Uncle (first time meeting them) ... bought in my own home state at a tourist shop. Auntie Beck saw it and knew (from PixieDust) that I collect heart rocks and purchase it for me...
At one point I thought I lost it in a coat that I lost. But after a couple years of believing that - it resurfaced in my home!
I carry this rock with me when I dont feel so hot. when I have cramps it goes in my pocket, when I am moody - it goes in my pocket ... i use this for just about everything.

Any stone/gems etc ... that is shaped like a heart - has healing powers for me! They are my therapy ...

Some day I wanna do somethign with my heart rocks (they are taking over) but havent decided WHAT! ..... okay, enough rambling!

I have some crystals, i think they are quartz, that I carry with me most of the time. The make me feel tingly. They were a gift from a friend who dug them up for me in ARK.

Oh, I love turquoise too, geminstone! All those natural humps and bumps - and I like rocks with one side polished and the rest left raw.
Native copper - or sculptured copper! The way it moulds itself into all kinds of amorphous shapes. Lapis lazuli is also beautiful.

I catch my breath at some of the really large mineral specimens in museums. The ones that weigh about half a ton. And the minerals that fluoresce under UV light.

I could go on and on...

I've always loved Amethyst, partly because I was due to be born Feb 4th and was born Dec 4th instead...in many ways I feel like I should have been born an Aquarius and feel a certain fondness for this stone (I still ended up with many of their same traits PLUS I have an Aqua moon!)and I love the color, and many of my favorite people are Aquas. Good people.

and

Rose Quartz - because it heals the heart

Opals. For obvious reasons to the people who know me, but also.. the reason it is significant, is my grandfather.
He worked with jewels, and loved Opals the most. He'd make his own machines to refine them and he'd be fascinated by the myriad colours and would always share the best ones..
He'd walk in the room and say "Look at this one, Isn't she a beaut?"

Which is why, even though my birthday is in October, and even though I am named for them, this is why I love Opals.

My favorite stone is Rose quartz and I also have a piece shaped like a heart plus my fav animal, the elephant carved from rose quartz. I like it because its pink (my fav colour) and it represents love.

My second fav stone is peridot because its my birthstone

and my third is Jade, and Im not sure why Ive just always been drawn to it.

Ohh I stones!!!!
My favourites are Malachite, I love the pure deep green colour of them with all the dark circles, Rainbow Moonstone is an incredible stone, silvery, misty, soft and extreamly pretty and feminine.

Labradorite is probably my fave, its a beautiful dark green, brown, goldish colour, and when you tilt it in the light it has gold speckles and either bright blue rays or golden-red rays.

Heres another site on stones and their properties, its quite detailed!! http://www.wicca.com/celtic/stones/stones0.htm

Btw, BlueMoon I think Opals are only 'bad luck' if there not your birth stone- October. Its definatly a beautiful stone, Pixie I luurve that gorgeous one you posted 2nd! Fab colours!!!!

hey, i love sodalite too!
It gives off really strong energy,
especially when held up to other stones,
almost magnetic!
I like lapis lazuli and bloodstone too.
Also, amethyst and quarts (the biggies).
And all the others, I love them all.
Stones are neat-o.

Bluemoon~ http://www.gemstone.org/gem-by-gem/english/opal.html
Read about them here.
I think if you are not born in October, there was some wives' tale about their being bad luck. But not for me.
Nor for most.
Besides, you make your own luck.. and something born of such love can not be bad luck.

Ahh.. thank you, but if I were a dancer, I'd be more muscular. I mean, I dance the night away, that's for sure, and I love to move, but I am very curvy.... too fleshy to be a dancer.
This winter has been hell for my body too... too many hours on Lindaland, not enough walking. I am controlling it now though, it's getting better.....
*crosses fingers* I don't like to be so out of control, and my body is having a mind of its own.

Yes, I sing.
I sang on Saturday, and I have another gig on the 16th.
I want to get into something better though....
