I remember these things from growing up on my Papa's small farm. I grew up barefoot in the summertime, because I hated shoes. I used to be able to run barefoot on gravel, and step on thistle, and it wouldn't bother me.
I remember the feel of the warm, soft soil on my bare feet, the warm sun, and the smell of fresh soil along with trees heavy in bloom, along with the total greenery of spring all at once. Then along would come Papa, planting corn behind me with a big smile, proud his 9 year old only son had tilled his first field alone.

If ever there was a glimpse of Heaven, that moment captures it for me.

Isn't the sence of smell wonderful? I couldn't imagine life without it.

My brother-in-law doesn't have a sence of smell. He's always asking me to smell his milk and if his house smells like dog. Its kinda funny.

Fresh rain-drenched earth ... the smell of dew-laden over-grown green grass

Sweet-peas and jasmine, pine trees dappled with sunshine just at the beginning of spring

Mint sprigs in my blender mixed with the spicy fragrance of gingerroot

For me, the sounds, smells and colors kinda merge till I lose count of whats making me go crazy ... too much of a sensualist I guess

The crispness in the air, with the 'sharp' smell, that indicates it's going to snow.
