Just out of interest, where did the "bird" Zodiac come from?

According to this, I am an albatross - capable of going the distance LOL - and yeah, my mind does wander.
Technically, the "Aries" bird is the raven - which I don't mind - however, I always feel an affinity with birds-of-paradise and hummingbirds, because of their seclusion deep in rainforests. Or any type of crane or ibis, because of their mystical associations.

Kestrel

quote:
Description

The American Kestrel is a robin-sized bird that lives in fields, farms, open woodlands and towns throughout North America. The Kestrel mainly preys on House Sparrows in small towns and cities. Development of local and regional wetlands and open areas threaten the Kestrel at an alarming rate. The American Kestrel moves from the mountains during the winter and settles in the foothills and plains

... that temper thing is something I have been working on over the past few years. When someone wrongs me, or somehow tries to screw me over, my scales tip WAY out of balance. The wrong is too heavy, and that really ticks me off. My husband has a friend that is scared of me because of a situation I don't much care to relive through the re-telling. He did something that directly impacted my husband and me, which I felt was very wrong. I went off at the mouth, as I have a tendency to do at those times. Now, this 6 foot tall, 200 pound man is afraid of me (5'1"/140ish). He makes hubby as me if its okay for him to stop by. He's funny. We get along really well. I think its probably mostly because he's afraid to step on my toes again. Heaven forbid that tiny woman yell at me for being stupid again.

I really am generally a very easy going, laid back person... unless I've been personally offended or threatened. Then I have a tendency to lash out verbally. Not necessarily abusive language. I have more wit about me than all that.
