Hey guys n gals, what baby names do you like? If you have kids what have you named them?

The older I get the more I find that the baby names that I'd reserved for when (if) I ever have one are being taken by others.

The first was "Maya", i loved that name! It means kindness in India. But then a girl friend took it for her girl.. there's not much I can do about it but swallow it!

And now just recently Ive found out that a guy Ive grown up with (who I cannot stand) has just had a girl and named her "Anoushka" - which has also been a favourite of mine! Im so ****** off about it! *tries not to feel bitter*

I dont have any girl-names left, except "Rain" or "Rhaine" which I think is really pretty but not very Indian! I cannot stand Indian boy names so I'm a bit stuck there!
(I'm thinking Rain is cool for a guy too actually). what are your choices?

Are you only looking for hindi names? I really like names you can use for a boy or girl - Taylor, Jaime, Jordan, Kira, Stacy, Devin etc.
Since I had my child Ive thought of many names that I wish I had thought of before (of course) I love Soleil, Jasmine, Evyonce, Denika, Chloe - all the stuck up names!!
Hope that helps ya

oh also you can try typing in random words that you like the meaning of into a translator online (japanese or whatever language you like) and it'll come up with a name based on the meaning!

thanks lovely! Im happily perusing through them now (been feeling broody lately!)

Ayumi - no I'm not just talking about hindi/indian names... just names in general. Personally Ive always loved the name Bethany - it sounds so soft and feminine. I like mixed-use names too - like Angel, esp for a boy.

But i have a thing for "hippyish" names - like River, or Rain. One of my favourites for a boy is Raven, I just think it sounds so handsome!

(probably best as a middle name though, dont want the poor boy to have the sh*t kicked out of him at school)

Gabriel, Adam, Aiden, Noel, I like for boys

Ruby, Agatha, Elizabeth, Abigail, Ava, Lenore, Nora are my favorites for girls.

I know, the girls sound like "ole lady" names

I would love to name my future baby girl, Belina Rose. Rose would be pronounced like the French wine, Roh-say. Belina Rose means Rose Goddess in French.

I have always (as well as my hunny) like the female name of "Trinity"

I used to give this alot fo thought as a child. But today i really havent a clue whih names i would pick or which i really like.

I had a friend in High School named Daiquiri ... pronounced Dah-koo-ri - i really loved that. She was beautiful, even had the pink rosy cheeks of a bright red strawberry, naturally.

I do know that if its a girl, she must have the middle name of Ann. My mothers middle name is Ann, which has been passed down to my sister, me and my niece. So i feel must continue that. LoL - my niece and i are the only ones, i feel, that the middle name "fits" . My moms and my sisters clash with their names.

Speaking of names .... here's a funny one. My parents knew a man named "Harry Beaver" and he was from Dickyville, WI. What were the parents thinking ... musta been in the 60's! LoL - can u imagine what that kid may have went thru as a child in school. OMG!

I like the name Emrys. It is a male name, but I think it would sound so pretty for a girl as well.

For a girl I like Azalea Rhiannon...
Zola is cute too... It's Italian for "piece of earth".

I'm having more difficulty with a boy's name...
I like Birch or Riley but they sound funny together.. I'd also like Raven or River but my partner nixed those... it's so hard to agree... *sigh*

My Son:
Roanen
My Daughter:
Kayza
... and, both were given a 'normal' middle name but, only reason for that being, if they did not care for the given first. Thankfully, so far anyway, they both love their names
