Now I dont care much for Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise, Im not a type to follow big celebrities. But today when I went to get my haircut my hairdresser told me she's having a baby. I was doodling online and found this, that Katie would not be allowed to have pain meds or scream durling labor due to Tom's Scientology convictions: quote: "Maintain silence in the presence of birth to save the sanity of the mother and the child and safeguard the home to which they will go," church founder L. Ron Hubbard wrote in his best-selling "Dianetics."
Is it me or is that just kind of suffocating and dictatorial...a woman can't even scream during labor...gujeezus, screaming when in pain is natural and healthy...I think not doing that would send someone into major trauma issues... Weird! Love SG IP: Logged |

It reminds of the wonderful catholic church.....how they spouted on in the past about the non use of contraception...all rules enforced by MALES of course, who wouldnt be faced with the consequences of giving birth and raising a child. All that crap about lovemaking beingfor procreation only..every seed is sacred.of course theyd advocate that, seeing as they werent allowed to commit the "carnal sin", or as some would prefer to refer to it as "getting their leg over" LOL!!!....and condmning women who chose to have abortions, and even at one time women who went into pubs.....Aaaaarrggghhhhh......... Thank God for evolution.....I would have murdered someone if Id have lived in those times.....or at least ended up going CRAZY.... Long live FREEWILL.....long live freedom of speech....long live the REBEL xxx IP: Logged |

do you think the baby may be of the genetically modified immaculate conception type? Those two can afford the best baby money can buy hey?.....On the screaming when in labour, I think it is possible, I've had 3 babies myself, but it was only on the 3rd child i did not make much noise, possibly because i knew what to expect when the labour started, but on a first birth being quiet i dont think so.. however a very good book to look at is by FREDERICK LEBOYER, it's a very gentle method and everyting is explained well, it's also full of pictures and not long winded (can be read in a morning) IP: Logged |

And what if Katie has post-partum depression? Remember the flack Tom Cruise gave to Brooke Shields about that? That was really unfair, not his place to judge, and disrespectful of him to speak out against her own personal business like that. It's like the male Doctor telling you that your menstrual cramps couldn't be "that bad"....... IP: Logged |

and what would be the point to NOT scream or make noise during childbirth? What does not screaming or making noise going to accomplish or prove? It hurts! I had a very quick labor with my son, my first pregnancy...I went into labor at exactly 8pm and he was born exactly at 1045pm...yes, it hurt, and yes, I was screaming.Did she do her homework or read up on any of the news on Tom Cruise before getting herself involved? Just put a single question to those idiots ,sue. what about the seeds that they and most of the men go and give to the w*****. ironically even w***** are created by that system only . ask them how do they justify it? IP: Logged |

I just read this the other morning ... From: Chicago Sun Times! PLACID BIRTH? According to the teachings of the Church of Scientology, pregnant women are encouraged to give birth silently, as Scientologists believe a baby can be traumatized by hearing his or her mother scream or moan during the process of childbirth. Given that some people think the church discourages the use of drugs, it sounds as if Katie Holmes faces quite a challenge when she delivers Tom Cruise's child early next year. In L. Ron Hubbard's seminal book, Dianetics, the Scientologists' founder wrote, "Maintain silence in the presence of birth to save the sanity of the mother and the child and safeguard the home to which they will go." While Church of Scientology spokesman Greg LeClaire confirms the church supports the concept of silent birth, he stresses that "this is something entirely between the mother and her doctor. ... We do not interfere in the private lives of our parishioners. This is something that is an option, nothing more." LeClaire explained that Scientologists who practice the concept of silent birth do so believing all "words have meanings and can impart subconscious ideas" into a newborn's brain, which later can trigger opinions that may not be positive. LeClaire also said Thursday the church does not ban pain-killers and any suggestion to the contrary is "totally false." ---- I didnt know Travolta and his wife were followers of this scientology way of life. From what ive read its mr travolta thats urging katie to havea silent birth. Although as stated above , its not required. Words do have power as we all know, i guess thats what thier trying to prevent is stress on the child. All in all, it does seem strange though. Although i dont know much about this scientology to begin with. hrmmmmph ...
