And I can say that I managed *no* good pics of Meg in her costume...she was waaaay to excited (and then cranky) to stand still. And she broke the tiara she'd picked out Meghan, Warrior Princess Meg, *very* ready to go Hey, I Know You! Meg's friend came by to see us in her flippin' adorable Raggedy Ann outfit. The #1 most funny thing about taking an 18-month-old trick-or-treating: "Say, 'Thank you, honey!" *blank stare* "Say, 'Thank you!'" *blank stare, says, 'Shaye-bye-bye!", and runs off* *says, "Shtank joo, shtank joo, shtank jooo!" between each house* OK, I'm going to preface this last one by saying the look on my husband's face is because the flash surprised him...: Meg After Trick-or-Treating Whatchoo lookin' at? What? Yeah, I got candy! What? My Daddy'll back me up! That's what I thought. *suck, suck, suck* IP: Logged |

S'up neighbor! Though we're not really all that close...close enough to be a little too great a-fans of the Weather Channel, though. We're over in UCLA (Upper Corner of - Eastern - Lower Alabama - the Wiregrass, Peanut Country...the Nat'l Peanut Festival's coming up...I kid you not). I'm actually from up near DC, though, Northern VA. Still south of the Mason-Dixon, but north enough that I've not yet adjusted to the fire ants and rampaging swarms of black widows and brown recluses. We've been down here for almost two years now with my husband's job (military, yay). Where 'bout in LA ya from? IP: Logged |

I'm from Leesville (Population-6,250) which is somewhat close to Southern Louisiana. I go to Hicks High School where I have 300 other class mates. I am a senior now so next year I'll be going to Ole Miss. Yeah the Fire ants and Blacks Widow are bad here, too. I almost got bitten by a black widow a few years back. So do you like it down here in the South? Or do you miss VA? IP: Logged |

*doesn't say anything about the name 'Hicks High School'* Yeah, I actually did get bitten by one a few weeks back. It wasn't that bad for me - just a couple hours of intense stomach cramping. Not pleasant, but I was much better off than my kiddo would've been. *grrr* I don't mind spiders in general, really - just those that could kill my child. How do I like the Deep South? Well, it's hot and the BBQ's good; besides the hordes of insects and arachnids, I'd say it's okie w/ me I still miss Virginia, though not the DC area so much - it's quite crowded and expensive. I'm mourning for neither the traffic nor the rent rates. I miss the mountains. And bluegrass/celtic music. Scottish Highland Festivals Goat-trail roads winding through hills. Hippies in the Appalachians with their organic, u-pick farms, apples, and jams. But my husband's in the military and we'll not see them soon, at least not in any depth. Arizona may be next, or perhaps an extension here ~ Redstone (up near Huntsville, near the mountains) would be nice. Do they fry everything in LA as they do here in AL? There's Deep Fried Snickers Bars available at the local drive-in...I can't say that I've tried it yet, but I'd imagine it probably tastes pretty good. How can it but when it contains everything that's bad for you? IP: Logged |

I know, I don't like the name of the high school either. I mean of all the possibilities...I have family in Hickory, NC (I know, once again HICKory) and Virginia sounds a lot like Hickory. I love the bluegrass music, it's just a fun tune! We eat Gumbo & Poboys which are the same thing as Subs, only better We have BBQ also & regular food. Hehe I was going to try a deep-fried Snickers at the fair.

I was working. We bought candy though and kids came in and out. I even made a cute halloween sign. It was cute and corny.
Every adult I know had a story about how they use to throw eggs when they were younger on Halloween. And how the police chased them at one point Can't deny I have been in this exact situation also LOL

LAGirl - Yeah, that is a little weak. Did you go out and chase the little buggers down? "Where's your Halloween spirit? At least have the motivation to egg our house or TP a tree! Geesh! Kids today!"lov - Meghan enthusiastically thanks you! Re: Jase: He's Irish-y. Our last name's Patrick, so... and he takes after his Dad's family in the looks department. We have a friend by the name of Hoolahan who claims that he's the spittin' image of an Irish lad, for whatever that's worth (And I happen to be pretty partial to him as well ) IP: Logged |
