I know there are not a huge amount of aussies here..but i wanna congratulate the Aussie soccer team for making it in to the world cup for the first time in 32 years!!

By Joe O'Shea A new chapter has been written into Australia's rich sporting history after the Socceroos qualified for the World Cup finals following their 4-2 win over Uruguay on penalties at the Olympic Stadium in Sydney. In what was arguably the most significant night for Australian sport since Cathy Freeman won gold at the Sydney Olympics, the Socceroos outlasted a dogged Uruguay side in a match that yielded just one goal in 120 minutes of football. Gonna Name drop too and say my cousin who unfortunately was out of the game due to injury, Craig Moore will hopefully be fit enough to captain the team in the World cup. Please send him some good vibes to be well enough by then..He has worked had to play for Australia...even being sacked from his team because he wanted to represent his country in the Olympic games..wISHING YOU WELL CRAIG! Yeah, I was delighted to see Australia finally go through after going so close in the last eight years. The Oceanic FIFA play-off is always weighted against them, having to play a South American team in the play-off. With Ireland failing to qualify (we never should have sacked McCarthy), I'll be an honourary Socceroo in Germany. IP: Logged |
