AAAAAANNNNNNND, they're off!! PixieDust(Ma) and Pops

Ma and Pops, stopped by our place of business/home yesterday around 4pm (our time)to say goodbye! They finally closed on the house yesterday at 2:30pm. They were in such a rush to get out, that they left their coats and check book at the old house. The new owners waited for them to show up at the closing meeting, and since the new owners had already closed, they rushed back to ma and pops old house (their new one) and picked up their coats and check book for them. I thought that was so so so very nice of the people. They all cried at the end. Tears of joy, tears of sadness and tears beginning a new life.

By the time Ma and Pops got out here to say goodbye it was already getting dark and both of them arent that great at driving at night, a lil night vision factor in there. So we asked them to stay until the morning and head out when its light out. But they have been waiting for this day for so long, their closing kept getting pushed back for various diffrent reasons. So at this point in time they were just ready to get he heck outta dodge.

The animals (6cats and 2dogs) seemed to be doing great for the first hour of the trip, to swing by our place. Actually i'm gonna say at that point they were doing great. No one was crying, no one looked terrified. Well, except one very skiddish female named Ginger. She had managed to climb behind the sofa. So upon their stop out here, Ma asked me to help her retrieve Gin-Gin and stuff the cracks with pillows, so she couldnt go into hiding. Ma had set up the motor home so well, it actually felt like their home. Cat houses in there, rugs all over, so the scent of their home had been transfered to their motorhome.

So after some talk about weather, their travel plans, us arriving at xmas and their approx time arrival in WA - it was time to say goodbye. Tears flowed all around. We stood and watched them pull outta our driveway from the office. Then quickly ran into our house and stood at the front door to watch them turn on to the highway and give one last wave goodbye. I was so sad to see them go, ballng as i'm waving goodbye. But on the other hand, so happy that they are doing this. They've wanted to leave AK for sometime now. We will be visiting them in December, zactly ONE month from today - its gonna be a long month for me.

So wish them luck and keep them in your prayers. A prayer for a safe and hassle free journey thru AK, Canada and into WA. The weather quickly turned into ice fog and snow thru out the night and into this morning. In fact its coming down pretty good here. I hope everything goes well for them.

Love and White Light for Ma and Pops!! Wishing you the best of luck in your new adventure!!

Love,
Ang & Mike

Good luck on your journey, Pixiedust and Pa!!!
I hope you have a safe and wonderful time and discover all the light in the world!

Are they setting up somewhere else in a home? Cross country?
How exciting!
And going through Canada? I hope the weather holds for a while, I think we're having a bad one this year! I suppose it depends on where they are going through and when....

Hi Pix,

Well, for the meantime, they will be living outta their motorhome on the coast of Washington until they build their new home. Which they figure about a year or so.

I'm not really sure the exact route they are taking thru (honey and i were talking about this earlier today) but we are thinking that its White Horse, Beaver creek, then thru the nasty, twisty turny, part of the route to vancouver. (sp?) ... not really positive, i've never driven outta AK. At this point Mike believes they should already be into Canada, as it usually takes about a day to get outta AK.

Its been snowing here at our place ALL day long. My love has gone out and plowed 4 times today (mainly cause he's bored) but he's still out there as i type this. I think, he's having more fun building a big snow pile for the kids to play on. lol.

We gave them a call to see where they are at and how everythings holding up ... but only got their voice mail. Im sure there's many spots thru there where they wont be getitng cell phone service.

And my fingers have been crossed that the weather stays good till they reach WA ... what's scary is the speed the big trucks drive on those roads in white out conditions. YIKES!!

Thanks for thinking of them and leaving them a message for them to view upon their return. It'll mean alot to Ma knowing people here where thinking bout them!! She just loves this place.

Well, got a call this morning ... they are in Dawson Creek. At this point the roads are beautiful. Although Wed night they did run into some baaaad weather. The Haines junction cut off was closed due to bad weather and roads. Luckily they werent going that way. At one point in their trip, they pulled over to eat and rest a lil and when leaving, driving across the parking lot, which was pure ice, they slide off the road. Nothing bad, but they were stuck. Ma had packed a bag of ice melt and they managed to get it out on their own with out the assistance of a tow truck. Animals are doing great. Everyones happy. As of this morning they figure they will be into WA and in grams driveway tomorrow night.

Thanks to anyone out there that's been keeping them in their thoughts!! bless you!!

Love and Light

woooooooooooooo!

Hey if they were in Dawson's Creek, did they say Hi to Pacey, Dawson or Joey?

Sorry, that was plain stupid, but you know, I had to.

Glad to hear things are *mostly* smooth!!!!
