My neice brought home a kitten about 6 weeks ago, and he was about 6 weeks old at the time. He was born August 15th. He is the funniest cat I ever saw. - he'll jump up on you chest when you're sitting down (if you have boobs for him to sit on) and push his face into your neck, lick your mouth, nibble on your nose & eyebrows, nibble on any birthmark you may have on your face, and it tickles sooo much! He'll stand on your shoulder and nuzzle your ear, and shove his whiskers into it, which tickles and if you throw him off, he'll just keep coming back like 50 times or more Just doesn't take "No" for an answer.

I love him. He IS SO FUNNY.

Oh, and he SNORES, really loud

His name is Inky. He's grey on top & white on the underside, and his face is a mix of gray and white, perfectly symetrical.

And HE IS SOOOO FUNNNNY!

He'll follow me all over the house, and step in my path, and if I boot him accidentally, he thinks it's affection and will stay in my path for another. Then if I stop for a minute, like to load the washing maching or something, he'll try to climb up my pant leg to get to my face, so he can nuzzle it!

Oh yeah, and we have nose wars He'll push his nose up against mine, and we both just push until one of us turns our head. (usually me because I'm laughing)

Man oh man, this cat is the funniest cat I ever met.

Anyone else ever have such a funny cat?

Lioneye.....

I hadn't thought of this for a long time, but my son and daughter-in-law used to have a cat who would jump on my chest and sit on my boobs the minute I walked into the house...

They told me he didn't do that to anybody else....just me...and I could always count on him doing that...and I never knew why....?????? (maybe cuz I wear a 44 D bra?)

Anyway, your little kitty sounds just darling....and I can see you're really enjoying his company....I just LOVE cats....

Six weeks old is actually too young for a kitten to be seperated from his mom and litter. Ideally they should be three months. That's because like any mammal that young, they need the socialization and nuturing of being part of the litter as much as they need food and water. Kittens that small need nearly *constant* physical contact via nursing, playing, sleeping together, and grooming, which they'd get from their mom and litter. When seperated too early, they need that from their human caretakers. So it's not surprising he's so persistant. He's just trying to get what by nature he needs, and this kind of behavior, while seemingly affectionate from the human perspective, is actually anxiety-based, because of his early seperation and unfulfilled socialization/nuturing needs. Hopefully your neice has been giving him enough attention and physical contact that this doesn't develop into a life-long problem with seperation anxiety or poor socialization.

I read somewhere that Leo children (and why not kittens) are very affectionate...
I'd love to have a kat like that!

GN, you're probably right - and he does get LOADS of physical contact and nurturing. He insists, and he's just so dern cute, you can't resist. There's also another cat in the house who he wrestles & play-fights with all the time. He seems pretty well adjusted. I hope he's always this funny too.

I bred Sealpoint Siamese cats for years, and I would agree 6 weeks is young 10 weeks, being the best
But there are also cats that do this face thing
and they are very smart and intune
they want to commicate face to face
My Abu, the Mom cat, is like that even now
and she's 13.
In the morning she pushes her face against mine, saying wake-up, she won't stop, til I get up
She even warned us of fire once in the garbage, very persistent

Cats are Cool!

Lioneye ~

I have a Leo kitty.....

My kitty is an example of not getting the nurturing and contact they need in their first few months of life -- he was a box-baby (someone left him and siblings in a box at the shelter's door when he was tiny). I adopted him when he was about 8 months old. When I brought him home, he would hide -- and he still runs when people visit. But he's come a long way with patience and affection. Now, whenever I'm sitting somewhere he'll be right with me stropping on my legs, weaving back and forth between them, and bonking me with his head. Whenever I sit on my bed and read he always seeks out my lap.
You will never meet a more imperious cat -- very true to his sign!!

Enjoy your little fella

Lioneye, sounds like a typical Leo cat the playfulness seems to be innate. Nothing better than a happy Leo - they radiate sunshine!! Great that he has a Leo "mom".

From one cat to another,

LOL all the laughing faces!

I just luv kitties! My lil baby is 19 years old and has recently gone blind It's so sad to see her walking around so cautiously, really using her whiskers to feel her way. My poor lil kitty is going to leave me soon, and it brings tears to my eyes! I just have to keep reminding myself that she's had a great life!

When she goes, and when I am ready, I will go to the pound and rescue another lil kitty! I am so glad and thankful that there are such sweet things in life, such as kitties

Aqua, where?

Rainbow, yep they like the big boobies lol...

Yin, yes I think it's his Leo influence that makes him so funny.

lotusheart, that gives me hope that he'll always be this funny and affectionate.

Aza, your cat is prrrrty lol....

Ariestiger, yup he radiates sunshine. He IS sunshine. He's so happy and silly.

WaterNymph: Why don't you get another one?

Hexxi, yes that is the bane of having pets. They will usually leave the planet before you. I can't bare that, which is why I'm not too much of a pet person. But I just love this kitty dammit. lol...

I put a collar on him yesterday, and it has a bell on it, and the sound of the bell makes him crazy He can't figure out where the sound is coming from, so he attacks everything in sight

He even seems to try to attack his self He just jumps all over the place and twists his body in mid air. so silly.
